Neil Patrick Harris making film directorial debutNeil Patrick Harris is getting ready for "Aaron and Sarah." No, those aren't the names of the twins that the 37-year-old actor is expecting with partner David Burtka, but the new indie movie with which he'll make his directorial debut. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the romantic comedy is set to star actors Emma Roberts ("Scream 4") and Josh Hutcherson ("The Kids Are Alright"). The story focuses on a geek who befriends a popular girl when they are both high school freshmen. The duo's relationship deepens over the course of their school years, as the two see each other through four proms and a funeral. Harris has been quite a busy guy this year. Besides starring in the hit CBS series "How I Met Your Mother," he also hosted the Emmys, did a guest spot on "Glee," appeared in a Hollywood Bowl staging of "Rent" and filmed the live-action movie version of the animated classic "The Smurfs." Here's hoping that making a movie with Roberts and Hutcherson is easier than working with little blue men who are three apples high. |
