Johnny Depp drops by England school in 'Pirates' costumeWell shiver me timbers – is that Johnny Depp? That's probably what students at the Meridian school in Greenwich, England, were asking themselves when the actor paid a surprise visit to the school dressed as his "Pirates of the Caribbean" character Captain Jack Sparrow. Depp, 47, stopped by the school on Wednesday after receiving a letter from 9-year-old student Beatrice Delap, reports People. "We are a bunch of budding young pirates," wrote Dunlap, who had penned the letter after an earlier visit to the nearby "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" set. "Normally we're a right handful, but we're having trouble mutinying against the teachers. We'd love it if you could come and help."
Not long after, Depp, dressed as Captain Jack, sailed into the school with some of his cronies from the film and greeted the students at an impromptu assembly. "He asked where I was in the audience. I put my hand up and then I had to go up and he gave me a hug," Dunlap told London Tonight TV news. "He said, 'Maybe we shouldn’t mutiny today because there are police outside monitoring me.'"

I have heard he is one of if not the best when it comes to acknowledging his fans. Granted, sometimes people take it too far (i.e. stalking, etc), but if you're respectful to them they should in turn be respectful and kind to them, and Johnny Depp is as classy as it gets.

Now I understand why he moved to France. With such a high level of compassion and a desire to bring a smile to peoples faces, he would no longer fit into this countrys me-first, screw everybody else mentality. When does the next ship for France leave NY?

Growing up in Owensboro, KY, this guy was a drunken, dope smoking low life in constant trouble. He also needs to wash his hair more than once a month. Stop slobbering over this guy and get a life!
inresponse to @debbie.............people do things when they are young that are for lack of better words, stupid. BUT people also change and that seems to be what Depp has done. If i based who i am today on some of the choices i made when i was a teen...... but it is good to see that, if what you say is true, he could come to be the great individual he is today. Let's not make judgements against people that we really dont know anymore.
