Alexander Skarsgard: Rihanna's 'great' in 'Battleship'If you believe her "Battleship" co-star Alexander Skarsgård, Rihanna will be a big hit in her big-screen debut. "This is her first movie but she's great, she's really really good in it," the "True Blood" star, who plays a Navy commander in the film based on the popular Hasbro board game, tells the new issue of GQ UK. "She's got a crazy schedule. She's really diligent and I'm impressed," he adds. "We would work and then she'd fly to L.A. to perform at the MTV [Video] Music Awards and then fly back redeye, land, go straight to set, work all day. No complaints, nothing. She's really solid."
Skarsgård, 34, is no stranger to working with music superstars. He also appeared opposite Lady Gaga, 24, in her "Paparazzi" video. "They were very different experiences," Skarsgård tells the magazine. "I worked with Lady Gaga for a day on a video shoot. It was crazy; we had a lot of fun. I had a great time. [Filming "Battleship"] is a different experience because...we're out there together for a couple of months. " For her part, Rihanna, 22, told MTV she's enjoying the movie-making process and gushed about co-star Skarsgård. "He's really cool, just laid-back. He doesn't get in the way. [He's] not very talkative, but he's a really cool guy and that's [to] everybody — not just the cast." |
