MC Hammer has some fighting words for Jay-Z.
Last week, Kanye West released the track, “So Appalled,” as part of his now-canceled G.O.O.D. Music Fridays. Aside from Jay-Z, the song features the likes of RZA, Swizz Beatz, Pusha T and CyHi Da Prince, but it’s Hova's verse that's at the heart of Hammer’s anger.
“And Hammer went broke so you know I’m more focused/I lost 30 mil so I spent another 30/cause unlike Hammer, 30 million can’t hurt me," the industry mogul rapped.
Hammer (born Stanley Burrell) then took to his Twitter account to address his not-so-flattering shout-out from Jigga. “You wanted my attention #Hellboy (Jigga)..you got it,” Hammer tweeted.
Known to many as one of the most commercially successful hip-hop artists who lost his fortune, Hammer has become a punch line for everyone from other musicians to comedians to Nationwide Insurance.
Now, Hammer is fighting back, and has left West with a warning for Jay - again, via Twitter. “@kanyewest jay-hoe aka #HellBoy Tell Jay Oct 31 (Devils Nite) We’ll see if this record and video ‘Hurts Him,’” he said.
To go along with his tweets, Hammer has even posted a promotional video of himself throwing fists of fury at a punching bag with the caption, “Slap the tastes out them #HellBoys mouths.” The video is actually kind of intimidating if you can ignore the children’s toys in the background.
While there’s no word on the title of Hammer’s new record or video, he is standing firm on the date and target of his next release.
As he told Houston MC Paul Wall, “The answer to Jay comes Oct 31 (Devils Nite) ..I saw him coming…#KingHammer..”
JAY ZEE NEEDS AND OTHERS TO STAY HUMBLE, BECAUSE JUST LIKE HAMMER LOST EVERYTHING IT COULD HAPPEN TO HIM. DON'T HIT A BROTHER WHEN HE IS DOWN. ENCOURAGEMENT IS NEEDED ALL THESE MALE RAPPERS ARE SELF LITTLE BOYS WITH MONEY
you pushing 50 years old let it go it just words,he's telling it like it is .you supposed to come out with a rap song who's going to buy it the senior citizen. just let it go you was out in the 80's it is now 2010. that's why your reality tv show didn't make no ratings.hahahahaha
Why did jay-z even say anything about hammer? He knew it was offensive whats his beef.
CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG.??.....GROW UP....MOVE ON ....MAKE GOOD MUSIC !
i believe that the time for hammer to make good music and grow up is long gone.
Someone tell Hammer to quit trolling! i bet he is sitting there at his local public library looking at the internet checking the time on the monitor so he makes sure not to miss the bus back to the alley where his cardboard box is located.
Hammer....settle down! Don't go all Funky Headhunter on us again. You're a good man who helped out hip-hop/rap quite a bit in the late 80's by bringing clean, fun music that white kids like myself at the time could listen to without fearing his parents finding out. Heck...they even liked it!
You've joked and capitalized on the common knowledge that you lost your fortune – you can't now pretend to get all butt hurt when someone drops a line about it. Expecially when its Hova....one of the greatest of all time. That's a fight you can't win.
aren't they both like 40yrs old+?
MC Broke not messing with HOVA.. Hands down
just what we need – more ignorance from the rap field.
oooooooooook old man do you really wanna go thre
Tell Hammer to take his a s s somewhere and shut the h e l l up
I am speechless as to how pathetic this is.
I GET PAID MORE TO TROLL THESE FORUMS THAN THIS GUY MAKES IN A YEAR. SERIOUSLY HAMMER, YOU WONT HURT EM, AND WE CALL TOUCH THIS NOW IF WE WANTED TOO
