'Real Housewives of DC' has a 'Perception Gap'Lots going on this last episode. Michaele is getting ready for some kind of Redskins cheerleader alumni gathering. The other former cheerleaders don't appear to remember her and she seems to be the only one who doesn’t remember the routine. Maybe ‘cause she really wasn’t a Redskins Cheerleader. The other ladies wonder later who makes up that kind of thing. And it makes me wonder how true the stories in the book the Salahis are planning will be (it's out now and will not be on my reading list). Michael and Tareq go to visit a writer to talk about their tell all. She actually asks if she has to write much to write a book. 'Smallville's' Clark Kent prepares to suit upAfter 10 long years, Clark Kent of "Smallville" is finally ready to suit up - star Tom Welling reveals that his character will finally don Superman's famous red cape, blue tights, and "S" shield and take flight in the CW series's final episode. "Some people might be a little upset that it’s taken this long, but I think that we have to embrace the fact that if we’d done it in the first season, the show would be over,” 33-year-old Welling, who spent more hours playing Clark Kent than any actor in history, tells the Los Angeles Times. "The whole point was to try to elongate this journey or this transition that Clark has to becoming Superman," he adds. A big hand for the return of 'Big Bang Theory'Before the “bangers” start sipping the haterade over what I am about to say, let me be clear: I still heart “The Big Bang Theory.” That being said, I wasn’t as amped over this season’s premiere as I anticipated. Don’t get me wrong, I hold fast to my belief that the series is one of the best comedies on broadcast television, but I miss the dynamic that was Penny and Leonard’s relationship. They were so sweet as a couple and I love the way actors Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki play off of each other. Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Lindsay Lohan goes back to jailYou would think the "Showbiz Tonight" staff would be jumping out of their seats when news broke that Lindsay Lohan was thrown back in the slammer today! But most of the producers just shook their heads and continued to work on the broadcast for tonight. Was it really any surprise that Lindsay would be back behind bars? Apparently not. The in-house TVs at HLN were tuned into the frenzy of reporters camped outside of the Beverly Hills Courthouse, including "Showbiz Tonight’s" Kareen Wynter, and inside was CNN wire reporter, Alan Duke. Shortly after noon, Alan furiously informed us that Lindsay was being thrown back in the slammer! Emails and phone calls streamed in from "Showbiz Tonight" producers and reporters on the scene who told us that Lindsay was hauled off in handcuffs and headed for jail. Alan said the Judge shut down Lindsay’s attorney’s request to be heard and minutes later, the familiar footage of a dark car carrying Lindsay off to jail appeared on our in-house feeds. Secrets from inside the 'Mad Men' wardrobe departmentCountless sleek and structured suits for the men...curve-hugging sweaters and cardis for the office secretaries... glam gowns and furs for the women to wear at swanky dinner parties.... You can only imagine what's inside the "Mad Men" on-set wardrobe closet! Well, imagine no longer! "Mad Men" costume designer Janie Bryant opened the doors of this 50s/60s era fantasyland for me, along with CNN producers and fellow "Mad Men" fanatics Megan, Doug, and Chris, to explore. Janie, sweet Southern gal originally from Tennessee, has a team of just nine people to help her build and add to the closet each and every season. Along with the principal cast, she is responsible for the dressing up to hundreds of people in each episode! Here are our favorite finds from our tour inside the "Mad Men" wardrobe: Taylor Swift sparkles at Country Music Hall of Fame fundraiserCountry Music Hall of Fame events usually bring out well-heeled execs in suits and women dressed to the nines. Thursday night's fundraiser in Los Angeles brought out little girls in cowboy boots holding hands with their moms. The reason? Taylor Swift was in the house. "We were smart enough to invite this kid," joked Vince Gill, as he introduced the 20-year-old country-pop sensation. "We dig her because she sold all the tickets. Miss Taylor Swift, everybody!" FULL POST It's T-shirt time on 'Jersey Shore'What’s more entertaining than a girl-on-girl brawl between JWoww and Sammi? A fight between Angelina and The Situation, obviously. But I’ll get back to that. Last night’s episode began as Pauly D and Rocio, the Cuban hottie he met at the club, finished up their romantic dinner for two. Vinny sat home, heartbroken, still wearing the new shirt he bought for his almost-date. And Angelina, Jose, Sammi and Ronnie wrapped up their double date. On the way home from said double date, Sam and Ron hung back to gossip about the fact that Angelina has been cheating on Jose. How dare she. (Wait a sec - Didn’t Ronnie recently cheat on Sammi?) 'Community' + Betty White = heaven"Community" came back on Thursday night and none too soon. Right off the bat, we got another little peek into our favorite study group's lives by seeing each of their bedrooms, "Royal Tenenbaums"-style. Pop culture-obsessed Abed has a wall of DVDs and movie posters, Pierce has a giant photo of a younger Chevy Chase hanging above his bed, and Troy woke up in Spider-Man pajamas (actor Donald Glover started a Twitter campaign to play Spidey over the summer). It's these sort of comedic touches that has given the show a big cult following online. If that wasn't enough, Betty White guest starred as an anthropology professor who takes her work very seriously. Like, shoot you in the neck with a blow-gun dart seriously. White fit right into the wacky world of the show, and ended up singing a few bars of Toto's "Africa" while backing up Troy and Abed on one of their trademark raps. There was also the little matter of the big plot twist at the end of last season, with Jeff rejecting both Britta and Professor Slater, and going right into the arms (and onto the lips) of Annie. With the summer behind them and a new school year starting, Jeff wanted no part of Annie, but desperately wanted to get back at Britta once she had "underdog" status (as Abed put it, she's the "Jennifer Aniston"), and watching the two of them pretend to get engaged just to spite each other (complete with Abed throwing together a quick "wedding episode," with a George Clooney impersonator) was a riot. Did you watch the show last night, perhaps for the first time? What did yyou think, and do you want to see more Betty White on the show? And will you follow @oldwhitemansays on Twitter (or watch the inevitable TV spinoff)? Post your video iReport or comment below. Introducing... Mrs. and Mrs. DeGeneresPortia de Rossi has officially taken the last name of her very famous talk-show host wife. "I just got some amazing news," her wife, Ellen DeGeneres, 52, tweeted yesterday. "The court has granted Portia's name change. She's now officially Portia Winfrey." She was kidding, of course. According to news site TMZ, an LA County Superior Court judge granted 37-year-old de Rossi's name-change petition yesterday so that she will now be known as Portia Lee James DeGeneres. "Lee" is the Australian actress's middle name (she was born Amanda Lee Rogers), though the addition of "James" remains unclear. Lindsay Lohan heads back to jailAfter failing a court-mandated drug test, Lindsay Lohan has been ordered to remain in jail without bail until October 22, when there will be a probation violation hearing. She was taken from the courtroom in handcuffs. "Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result," Lohan tweeted on September 17. Story developing. |
