Sarah Palin threw 'DWTS' viewing party for Bristol's debut

“Teen activist” – as “Dancing with the Stars” put it – Bristol Palin made her reality-TV debut last night, but mom Sarah wasn’t in the audience as previously expected.

Bristol took the stage in a conservative-yet-sparkly, Sarah Palin-esque gray skirt suit that she then ripped off to reveal a short fringed red dress, joining partner Mark Ballas in a cha-cha performed to “Mama Told Me Not to Come.”

Instead of getting a front-row view of Bristol show off “good hip action,” as one judge pointed out, Mama Palin watched her 19-year-old daughter compete for the Mirror Ball trophy from the comfort of her Alaskan home.

"Over-the-moon excited and happy for Bristol! Cheering her on @ DWTS party in the Palin living room," the former Alaska governor tweeted, along with photographic evidence of the friends "who r lovin' this change of pace 4 Sweet Bristol!"

According to The Insider, it looks like Sarah Palin will eventually make the trip down to Los Angeles to check out her daughter's moves live. "She will be here next week," Bristol said in the interview.

It's the judges who soured the voting last week. These judges give yellow journalism a bad name. "Cheating" !!! Bristol did not dance a 22. Anyone with any level of rhythm, knows that Bristol, a dancer, she is not. And Sarah Palin does not need an interview E...V...E...R...Y time she is present at DWTS. Giving attention to Sarah should not frighten judges to "up" points
for Bristol. People don't have to watch DWTS. House has so much more than Sarah and Bristol Palin.

You go, Bristol! I am very proud of you for moving on with your life. I hope you go to the top on DWTS.

Bristol made a mistake and lives with it ever day. She hopes to help other young girls keep from making the same mistake they might not be able to handle. Besides DWTS is about Bristol not about Mama Palin!

Next Bristol will be calling herself a nuclear scientists! WHEN is the trailer-park soap opera garbage going to end? Bristol SHOULD be getting an EDUCATION rather than dancing on DWTS!!! I'm really amazed that mommy Sarah Palin NEVER pushes EDUCATION, hell she pushes everything else BUT education for her children. Clearly its NOT a priority for the Palin clan.

Five years and four colleges to get a degree in communication/journalism. yet she does not even read any newspapers or magazines. Pretty much explains her contempt for education. She is dumb, education makes you smart. Diametrically opposed forces.

Shove off "sick of liberals" I hate Sarah Palin with a furious passion, but Bristol is not Sarah, she is charming and I look forward to seeing how she develops over the course of the show. and for those who say Bristol Palin isn't a star, give it up. You knew who she was, your family knew who she was, your friends know who she is, and people everywhere know who she is. She's famous, and thats what today's star is. Famous. so she's on the show, if you don't like her, don't vote for her. I personally want to get rid of those people who look like they don't want to be there (Read, Bolton) and let those who really want to try to get better get that chance.

Famous – infamous two different things. I have nothing against Bristol (a bit hypocritical, but who isn't), but that doesn't mean I agree she can be called a 'star'. You need to raise your standards.

Are you kidding me? This is all about politics. Bristol is calling herself a teen activist! The only reason she is on the show is the controversy she and her mother created over her pregnancy. Secretly, I am rooting for Bristol. I am hoping with some time away from Wasilla Waco she will gain some enlightenment and realize that lying and misrepresentation do not a career make. Grow some integrity. Teen mothers do not relate to the Bristol farce. Middle age whites and privileged teens may think she's charming and cute without and real thought to her lack of message. She is the daughter of the far rights savior – interviews focus more on her mother than on her My guess is that she went for the chance with DWTS to increase her confidence in public speaking so to further exploit the Palin masses. As we all know, according to the Palins, no press is bad press and this brings more attention their way. All the pre-premiere press made her into an underdog- she's a success if she doesn't flop. So it was a win either way. Had Grey given her performance we would have sent her packing the first week. Again, I wish her the best- she has the ability to be her own person, do well on the show, and to find a way to be a true advocate. She's got a long way to go though. But don't fool yourselves, this whole thing is a shining example of Palin populist politics!

The churlishness and childishness of the detractors of all things Palin reveals the utter lack of humanity and blind acceptance of groupthink. Do you even know why you hate Bristol and Sarah (and O'Donnell)?

OK, kids. I'll try to explain it to you if your open tolerant, compassionate minds can handle it:

The majority of the electorate (small majority though it is) is ready to return to REPRESENTATIVE government rather than government by the smartest people in the room. People who think they know better than the rest of us have given us the last 40 years of ever-increasing tyrannical Federal government and are succeeding in bankrupting the country.

We want to elect people who are so stupid that they know you cant tax businesses or rich people excessively and expect them to hire more people; you can't spend more than you have; a federal bureaucracy is never more efficient than local or private expenditures; and so on.

So laugh it up! Your meanness betrays your shallowness.Enjoy your picture show :-)

Speaking of 'childish' salt – I personally think grown-ups DO want the smartest people in the room. That doesn't mean they aren't as capable of mistakes as anyone else, but to gravitate to the lowest common (no pun interned!) denominator from the get go is plain stupid. You may be willing to have the whole world to judge you by the likes of palin – but I'm not.

sarah = the queen of mean every time she opens her mouth so you may want to try and find another 'shallow' put-down.

Welcome to the world of the Palin "haves"...I teach in the world of the have nots, where pregnant teens struggle to finish their education and support their kids. They no longer have time to go to the Homecoming Dance let alone be a cast member of Dancing with the Stars.

  11. DWTS Fan

Dear Silly Sarah: Please do not fly in to LA on your broomstick to watch Bristol. Please stay in the comfort of your home to cheer on your "teen advocate for teen pregnancy" daughter. DWTS is my favorite show but I'm afraid the thought of seeing your face in the first row is going to make me turn the channel and I don't want to do that. So please QUITTER Palin, please stay in the comfort of your Alaska home turning your pot while chanting "double, double, toil and trouble" as you cheer on your un-wed teen mother daughter. Signed Loyal DWTS fan!!
