Trailer Park: Tyler Perry's 'For Colored Girls' shows off power cast

Not many in the industry could assemble the power cast brought together by Tyler Perry for his new film, “For Colored Girls."

The recently released trailer shows glimpses of star players Janet Jackson, Thandi Newton, Anika Noni Rose, Kerry Washington, Loretta Devine, Kimberly Elise, Phylicia Rashad and Academy Award winner Whoopi Goldberg, who all join forces for an intense cinematic retelling of Ntozake Shange’s award-winning play, “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf."

Like its literary inspiration, the film will follow the lives of several black women who are only known by a color: “Lady in Yellow,” “Lady in Purple,” “Lady in Blue,” and so forth. Each woman deals with a different conflict such as love, abandonment, rape and abortion until the end, when all the women unite for a laying on of the hands.

The film is slated to hit theaters in November, just in time for Hollywood award season consideration.

One month later, fans will be able to watch an on-screen collision of international superstar proportions. Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp will appear opposite one another for the first time in leading roles in Florian Henckel von Donnersmark’s “The Tourist.”

The film follows an American tourist named “Frank,” played by Depp, who is on vacation in Italy attempting to mend a broken heart. He meets a stunningly beautiful woman named “Elise” who helps him do just that and much more.

From the trailer, it would appear Jolie performs her usual sultry mysterious femme fatale role while Depp seems to offer up something new from his repertoire – awkward and just a tad bit dorky. But, then again, he is playing a tourist.

It given the attention with people who if your products just like a wrinkle cream or perhaps anti aging treatment method is endorsed or perhaps made use of by a star, this doesn't imply that it's the more effective products included in the class. When they work with a celeb they 'may' be endeavoring to cause visitors to believe that their device is excellent in accordance with the idea that a great shopping movie star is promoting the product or service. Most celebrities Later that this ended up generally beautiful just before they took up the endorsement. Operating this can be mind how does one know the quality of a product or service based essentially on the product but not the diet supplements?

I get it. Its getting close to Oscar season. Time for the dramas. Just not sure about this movie. Whoopi is perhaps the only one who can really act. I'm a big fan of Janet Jackson, only when she's singing, her acting ability has been more than disappointing. I'll have to wait to see this one on Blu Ray.

Someone needs to tell this racist f()ck that he's not funny. His movies and TV shows are so blatantly racist that even the brothers don't think it's funny, only TBS, T he B lack S tation.

Hey DUDE, Mr. Tyler Perry, to you!, movies are not neceesarily meant to be funny. They are eally to show some of the real issues in life. At times he attempts to add a bit of humor. His main goal though is bring out the issue(s) and then add a bit healing. Some cultures know nothing of the spirit within Blacks or Africa Americans to heal and get over. This is our way. Though you may think it's racist, baby we come from slavery and we did not always fight our way out. Sometimes we just had to .......................see Tyler's movies to fill in the blanks

I enjoyed Mr Perry`s Work, the choice topics reveal a that does exist in some afrocentric perspective not all African Americans these days or days past are raised in an urban or rural black enviroment I hope if I`m allowed to show or reveal a side within our Afican American Society which is seen as out of the norm in some of our black house holds also we have arrived from the shaddowed mind set Hip Hop only conscience kids to Progressive mainstream society

Just watched his last movie, Why did I get married 2' hated it. He goes overboard with all the drama
and makes black women seem loud and stupid, I won't watch anymore of his stupid movies.

Unfortunately you can't accept real life. Some of our paths may seem stupid but they are very real. It's all in how you, yes YOU see them. The drama, very real, the tears, very real. The bonding necessary. How many times have women had to go through these unfortunate times alone. Why did I get married 2 shows the strength in numbers as women and men try to tackle and conquer these challenges. Some end in success others not. But through the love of others and God that's where you'll find that peace

FACT: WE WILL HEAR 8 NEGATIVE STORY..(ONE DOSE OF NEGATIVE IS TOO MUCH)
THEN WE WILL LEARN HOW GOD HELPED THEM. MOST OF THE
WOMEN PLAYING IN THIS ARE LIVING VERY, VERY UNGODLY LIVES.
SO THEY ARE ACTORS. MY GOAL IS FOR THEM TO KEEP GOD OUT OF IT.
IF YOU CLAIM TO BE A CHRISTIAN THAN ACT LIKE ONE!

I can't wait to see what TP does with this movie. I remember when it was a play and also reading the script. It was an intriguing piece of literature and the Nina Simone song "Four Women" was perfect for it. I hope it is a success!

One small mistake: While the play indeed only refers to the women by colors, the film's eight posters (one for each of the leads) DO give names to their characters. (The colors may still play a role.)

I think this flim is for all African American girl who has been label or put in a category by other people. I also believe that this movie will uplift us black girls and make us accept the color of our skin and who we are as a person. I like that we have our role models playing as a everyday person like us and showing different pains we go through!
