Justin Bieber: I'm enjoying the single lifeHe may seem to have it all, but there's one thing teen idol Justin Bieber has yet to acquire: a girlfriend. And that's just the way he likes it. "Girlfriends are trouble at this age," the 16-year-old singing sensation told MTV News. "Girls are fun to hang out with but, like, having that one steady girl... we're constantly traveling and one girl's not gonna really [work]. You can't really have one girl. I don't really have any crushes at the moment." That might come as a surprise to Kim Kardashian, who has had a playful, ongoing Twitter flirtation with Bieber since meeting him at the White House Correspondents Dinner in May. And didn't Bieber recently gush that he wanted to make a romantic comedy with Disney star Selena Gomez? Hmm… In the meantime, Bieber said he's just enjoying the single life and being a kid. "The best thing is [that we're] just teenagers having fun doing what we love," said the chart-topper, who is also embarking on an acting career. "We're just staying ourselves and remaining humble."

I, for one, as a fan of music in general, am happy about the direction Bieber is going to take music. He's bringing pop and r&b closer together like Justin Timberlake currently is, while not having the baggage of a "boy band" history. Starting out as a child star, I really see him growing up to become some revolutionary combination of Timberlake and Michael Jackson.
I'm 24, so right now I'm not a fan of his music, but I respect what I think he's doing for music. And putting down a kid, celebrity or not, for their age is a pretty immature thing to do.
