Florence + The Machine behind the scenes at the VMAsIf you were previously unaware of Florence + The Machine, you probably know who the group is now after a solid performance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. Led by 24-year-old songstress Florence Welch, Florence + The Machine has racked up both critical and commercial success with her powerful vocals, and CNN.com got to go behind the scenes with the London-bred musician as she prepped for Sunday's show. Check out the video to see how she made the magic happen, and then head over to her website to find out more. |

Florence Welch is great. Florence Welch and Taylor Swift have the best perormances at the VMAs.
those sorry ass rappers and non-singing taylor swift and mary j need to take note of florence and the machine, riveting performance
Seriously? Florence + the Machine is a solo act. Do your research CNN!
Um actually Florence and the Machine is not a solo act, its a group that seems like a solo act but is not.
best performance of the night, shes amazing.
well this is jsut abusing someone for the sake of it. She was one of the only ones who didn't mime. Best Performance of the show by a long way. Upstaged all those better known acts. They should take note: its not about the budget but the voice itself.
oh such a lesson learned, thank you ol'mighty joshua for saving thee with your worthless opinions
@PROtag you do realise your opinions are worthless as well especially because your opinion is the minority on this page.
Florence has talent far above the lip syncing over produced crap that comes out of mainstream America. Her purity is well respected in my country (New Zealand) and just wait for the EMA's, just because America has not hooked on to Florence + The Machine does not mean the rest of the world hasn't either.
Thats my worthless opinion
But she won 1 too. Oops.
so, she's still ugly.
She used to be a call girl in London, she should go back to that job.
PROtag's upset Florence upstaged Justin Bieber...boo hoo. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Hom many awards did you say she won? This was the MTVVMA's, Statue=Winner, No-Statue=Loser. JB=1, F+TM=0
I guess you missed the part where she won an award, too. The fact that JB got one too probably diminishes her excitement, but at least hers was well deserved.
weeee weeee weeeee
Florence + The Machine was terrific and the only thing good...and so was Linkin Park..epic...but she is was better looking then those ugly tan stuck up S.O.B.'s..America needs better music..broaden your horizons and listen to British/U.K. bands lol
she sucked, screaching voice that sounded like claws on a chalkboard..... ugly too
ditto on that, I never heard of her, but had to hit the mute button half way through her song. Give me J-Lo any day compated to that pastey-wastey.
Riveting performance, gorgeous voice and by the way, a real voice vs. lip sync crap. Sure, it's not everyone's style of music, but neither is the other stuff they routinely dish up at these awards. There's a large segment of the population whose interest in MTV was re-ignited after seeing Florence + the Machine. So you guys aren't in that segment? No problem, you've got your favorites and we've got ours. Thank god for something fresh, because those shows really got to be too much of the same thing year after year.
I agree with iffets that she was AMAZING!!! I was just walking through a room that had this performance playing and it stopped me dead in my tracks.....her voice was beautiful and strong and REAL!!!! WOW!!!!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHA, stay with your rap crap with your boom box turned up all the way to show your a playa'.
Your hearing is blown from listening to all that ghetto crap.
