The "Showbiz Tonight" staff carried on one very big debate this morning about Ines Sainz, the sports reporter who received an apology from the owner of the New York Jets after she complained she was harassed by the players in the locker room.
We were going back-and-forth over whether a reporter’s manner of dress actually invites the cat calls and the hoots and hollers from the players in the locker room.
Producer Kristyn Martin defended her in our meeting today saying, “It’s a slippery slope when people start criticizing a beautiful on-air correspondent and saying that her looks created unwanted male attention. Aren’t most on-air people beautiful? In every case it’s wrong and dangerous to go to the mentality of, ‘she was dressed in a low-cut top – she asked for it.’”
Then we had some staff members defending the other side of the debate and let me tell you, it got very heated! You do not want to miss this topic on "Showbiz Tonight."
In other news, John Mayer has quit Twitter! "Showbiz Tonight" can tell you exclusively that John Mayer leaving his "Twitterati" family behind has deeper meaning. In an interview with us, John Mayer revealed what quitting Twitter would mean in his life - wait until you hear what he told us.
Plus, Donald Trump told "Showbiz Tonight" what he thinks of the reports that Lindsay Lohan may be joining “Celebrity Apprentice” and also gave us an earful about Rosie O’Donnell’s new show on Oprah Winfrey’s network - but trust me, it’s not what you think. Tune in to "Showbiz Tonight" today at 5 p.m. ET to hear what he said.
And remember, we're still TV's most provocative entertainment news show seven days a week at 11 p.m. ET/PT!
