School will soon be in session once again for Will Schuester, and Matthew Morrison – who portrays the teacher on “Glee” – is trying to squeeze in work on his album in between filming episodes.
“I’m about three-quarters of the way done,” he told Billboard of the record, which he hopes to debut in February, 2011. “During our hiatus was the big chunk of putting it together - it's full-time 'Glee' right now. I'm trying to do it on the weekends."
Morrison describes the album as “eclectic,” with "a lot of stuff that you would find on the adult contemporary charts, but stuff that I hope you'll hear in the club and you can dance to."
Or dance in the rain to, as one of his tracks suggests. Morrison told MTV that he collaborated with former 'N Sync member JC Chasez for the song, called “Dancing in the Rain.”
While Morrison said he’s written about half the album thus far, he wasn’t shy about giving props to the producers and writers he worked with, like Chasez. “I just did this great song last week with JC Chasez that was very, very cool,” he said. “It turned out really well. He's such a good songwriter."
Morrison told Billboard that he hopes to head on tour once the album is done, and it looks like he wants MTV to be one of his stops. “I’m hoping to perform at the VMA’s next year!” he told the network.
In the meantime, you can catch Morrison doing his thing on "Glee," which kicks off its second season on September 21.
