Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Battle of the New Jersey shows

The big buzz in the "Showbiz Tonight" morning meeting today was about the battle of the New Jersey shows.

Today it’s “Jersey Shore” vs. “Real Housewives of New Jersey," since both shows are getting spectacular ratings and continue to outdo each other with over-the-top drama.

We're raising some big questions today on "Showbiz Tonight," starting with whether or not New Jersey is the new Hollywood, and which show is a bigger train wreck. "Showbiz" producer Sandra Lee was torn on her answer, but ultimately voted “Real Housewives of New Jersey” saying, “They’re true adults, they’re parents and the fact that they act like children is pretty outrageous.”

Also on our radar today, we’re talking about the unbelievable courage of Michael Douglas.

In his first televised interview since being diagnosed with a tumor in his throat, Douglas told David Letterman about his battle and the impact it’s having on his family - and he does it with grace, humor, candidness and dignity. We’re all rooting for his speedy recovery. Tonight, we’ll have the very latest on his health battle and the first look at People Magazine’s cover story with the actor.

And the Lindsay Lohan outrage continues today – is she really blaming Britney Spears for her bad-girl partying ways? Wait till you hear her latest excuse! Also, is Paris Hilton banned from Las Vegas?
