We're all (still) Bucky GuntsWho wouldn’t want to be Bucky Gunts? A day after presenter Ricky Gervais garnered laughs when he joked about the now Emmy winning head of production for the NBC Olympics, folks still can’t seem to get enough of Gunts. While reading the names of the nominees, Gervais quipped, “I hope it’s Bucky Gunts, ’cause I didn’t know you could say that on television. Let’s face it – we’re all Bucky Gunts here." Shortly thereafter, Gunts took to the stage in victory. Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Brad Pitt's future may not include actingHappy Monday! Everyone on the "Showbiz Tonight" staff is just exhausted after Sunday night's Emmys. What a show! We all think Jimmy Fallon was a hit as the host, and we loved the fact that so many first-timers took home an award. That’s the good news from the weekend, but there's also some bad news, and it involves Paris Hilton. Apparently she was arrested on suspicion of cocaine possession in Las Vegas on Friday night. She was riding in her boyfriend’s car on the Vegas strip when a policeman noticed what he suspected to be marijuana smoke coming from the car she was in. Then the officer reportedly found what appeared to be a controlled substance on Hilton, and tests showed that it was cocaine. So can Paris go to jail? "Showbiz Tonight’s" legal team is working on the case!
Paris Hilton now a pro at mug shotsIn the long line-up of celebrity mugshots, a few have become pros - including Paris Hilton. The 29-year-old has had three images circulate over the years from her run-ins with the law, including a 2006 photo taken after an arrest on suspicion of driving while under the influence; a 2007 photo snapped when she was booked for what was supposed to be a 45-day jail sentence; and the most recent, an image captured in Las Vegas when she was arrested on suspicion of cocaine possession. (Hilton is now facing felony drug charges stemming from that arrest.) And what does Ms. Hilton think of her photos? “I like my mug shot. I think I have a really great mug shot,” Hilton told the Boston Globe in 2008. “It looks like a magazine shoot.” 'Entourage' hits the jackpotIt’s another glorious Monday, “Entourage” fans, but this one feels different. I’m sure you recall that “stunned disgust” I felt after watching Vince in last week’s episode, but it turns out that disgust has a bright side: you only have to experience it once. That’s because after the initial shock, you become numb, and that perfectly describes my feelings about the current foolishness that is Vince Chase on "Entourage” – I’m becoming totally immune to them. Jim Parsons sets globe a-TwitterThe geek shall inherit the earth. In fact, with his Emmy win for his role as "The Big Bang Theory's" uber-nerd Dr. Sheldon Cooper, 37-year-old Jim Parsons has set the globe a-Twitter and become a trending tweeting topic worldwide. "Ba-zinga!" wrote Rhonda_H in Ohio, quoting Sheldon's signature catchphrase. "Love 'Big Bang Theory' and happy Jim Parsons won Emmy for playing Sheldon." Padma Lakshmi played rough at EmmysThings got a little heated between "Top Chef" star Padma Lakshmi and Phil Keoghan at last night's Emmy Awards. Lakshmi admitted that she smacked Keoghan, 43, prior to the ceremony – but it was all in the name of fun. "I thought 'Amazing Race' was going to win again," Lakshmi said, referring to the reality adventure series' seven-year winning streak. "In fact," she joked, "I was really, really mean to the host on the red carpet. I think I hit him twice with my purse!" Thankfully, the cookbook author and former model didn't have to pull out the knives: "Top Chef" ended up taking home the Emmy in the outstanding reality-competition category. Boasted Lakshmi, who turns 40 on September 1, "I told him I was taking him down, and guess what, I was right!" |
