Although it’s hard to imagine Jane Lynch being scared of anything, apparently “Saturday Night Live” strikes a little fear in her heart.
“I’m going in October and I’ll be there for a week and I’m scared to death,” she told Movieline.com of her upcoming appearance. "I love sketch, but I’ve been doing TV a long time now, and you get to have 'take two.' Not on 'Saturday Night Live'! You get 'take one' and that’s it, baby."
But of course Lynch is also excited to do a little sketch comedy with the "SNL" crew, and she's even trying to bring another “Gleek” along – writer Ian Brennan. “He writes everything Sue Sylvester says, so it’d be nice if they let him come,” Lynch said. “He’s hilarious, and I just always want him around me.”
Speaking of “Glee,” Lynch also revealed that she’s got a new enemy in the form of someone named "Coach Beast." “She’s a six-foot-four lady, and she’s the new football coach. I give her a very, very hard time.”
As Sue Sylvester should. But “Glee” isn’t the only place you’ll catch Lynch: she's also taped an episode of the Nickelodeon show, “iCarly."
“My daughter’s a huge fan and I’m a huge fan of that show,” Lynch explained. “We watch it together and I think it’s so clever.” When word got around that Lynch had promised her daughter tickets to “iCarly,” the show’s reps extended an offer for Lynch to be on the show, since they don’t do audience tapings.
Of course she agreed, and "Hayden and her best friend Miles were both on set for the whole thing,” Lynch told Movieline. “It was great…I got to play someone who’s been existing in people’s minds for a long time, and I hope I did not disappoint," she said of her role as Sam Puckett's mom.
