Bright and early this morning, "Showbiz Tonight" staffers were already debating Jennifer Aniston's latest new remarks that women don’t need a man to have a baby.
"Women are realizing it more and more, knowing that they don't have to settle with a man just to have that child," Aniston said.
She also said that being 41 and single shouldn't stop her from having a baby. "[W]hat is amazing is that we do have so many options these days, as opposed to our parents' days when you can't have children because you have waited too long," the actress said. So do you agree with Aniston that women don't need men to have a baby? We're going to debate this hot topic on "Showbiz Tonight" later today!
We're also on top of the juicy story about supermodel Naomi Campbell and her testifying at the war crimes trial of a brutal dictator.
Campbell is denying that she knew she received "blood diamonds" from the man, Charles Taylor, after a dinner party she attended at Nelson Mandela's house. But today in court, Campbell's story is being challenged by Mia Farrow, who testified that Campbell bragged about receiving a large diamond from Charles Taylor at breakfast the next morning after that dinner party. So who is telling the truth here? We are getting to the bottom of it on the show today!
Picture this: Angelina Jolie vs. Julia Roberts in the boxing ring! Okay, so that's not really happening - but the two will be duking things out at the box office this coming weekend when Julia Roberts' new movie, "Eat, Pray, Love" hits theaters.
Who will win the most movie-goers? Sr. Writer Robert Melstein says he doesn't think Julia Roberts can topple Jolie, but Production Assistant Lauren Mikler thinks Roberts' movie will do better with her fans and fans of the book, "Eat, Pray, Love." Tune in to the "Showbiz" Special Report and find out; we will debate this one on "Showbiz Tonight!"
Watch "Showbiz Tonight" live at 5 p.m. today. And remember, we’re still TV’s most provocative entertainment news show seven days a week at 11 p.m. ET/PT!
