Man is the Worst Animal made since the Big Bang!
Life is a series of Battles Ending in Victory or defeat!
They will move forward with their lives.
Some here have opined that Matthew Fox can't act. You wouldn't say that if you saw his stellar performance in "We are Marshall". His character in "Lost" was supposed to be muted as Jack's emotions were somewhat repressed by his childhood issues and losing his wife. That doesn't mean he was a bad actor, it shows he played the character how it was written...i.e. good acting.
no one died on the show. there was no initial death nor 'purgatory'. didn't you see them all together at the end in the church??? the island had healing powers, also temporal powers. at the end, jack made it out of the riverhole and was resting after a hard day's work. the only problem left unsolved, for the sequel, is what to do with the two's of everybody. the bomb flash opened up the alternate reality, now we've got island sawyer going on a plane to meet sideways-sawyer, and so forth...
Lost was the most pathetic series I´ve ever got suckered into watching. Being a realist all my life I was disappointed at the series outcome. To think that all those people were dead from day ONE but wondering around the world as if they were really alive and living lifelong situations each one of them. Thats the part that is soooo fake and unimaginable. That dead people wonder around after being dead waiting for a giant hole full of white light to open up and suck them up! But prior to that event they are living normal lives here. The idea is so pathetically unreal that it boggles the imagination in which the person has no choice but to rebel against the series, writers, producers and directors. I cannot accept these types of fake series and have promised myself never to watch them again and that includes its replacement Flash Forward! We all deserve a better ending for Lost in which the key players survived and went back to living normal lives as it is in real life. Like Cast Away, a movie I really enjoyed cause Tom Hanks came back from his airplane trajedy. But what Lost did to us was fooled us all and destroy our sense of HOPE. Thats why I will never spend my time watching such series.
FYI – They were not dead the whole time. Everything that happened on the island actually happened. The only things that did not happen (they were dead already) were the off-island/real world scenes in season 6 ("sideways" world where Jack had a son, Sawyer was a cop, Jin and Sun weren't married). When the Ajira plane flew over dying Jack at the end of the season finale, the people onboard (Kate, Sawyer, Frank, etc) presumably made it back to the their lives in the real world. Jack, Jin, Sun, and Sayid died on-island and Hurley and Ben stayed on the island to be the new island guardians.
@Mike Salles: if that's how you thought the show went then you completely misunderstood the finale.
Anyone who enjoyed Terry O'quinn on Lost will love him as Peter Watts on the Millenium show, which was out a decade ago. I resaw it on DVD when Lost was over.....not a bad show at all
Loved Lost, miss Lost...and waiting to see who else can come up with such a dynamite series. I did see Locke on several shows, maybe CSI...Evangeline is doing a shampoo commercial, haven't seen Hugo in anything and the only reason Sawyer is so popular is because he is hot...what can I say. I did see Naveen Andrews on a CSI type show too.
As maddening as it could be sometimes, I sure do miss it. I really like Matthew Fox and wish him the best, but I'm not so sure he is big screen material and would not be at all surprised to see him bck on TV within 3 to 5 years, though I'm sure he doesn't need the money. Bryan Cranston deserves his third Emmy in a row as he is brilliant in Breaking Bad, but having said that, if he should lose, I hope they give it to Fox, but I think that unlikely. I recently saw Josh Holloway in a movie called Whisper made during a break from Lost in 2008. He wasn't bad, but he was still Sawyer.
Of note: IMDb has Matthew Fox attached to the 2012 movie, "Mass Effect," likely based on the video game franchise of the same name.
Personal opinion: He looks just like default appearance settings for series protagonist, Commander Shepard, and Lost and Vantage Point convinced me that Fox could play an action role at least an above-average level.
LOST finale sucked balls. Stop talking about this waste of 6 years !!!
OK, all the annoying posters saying "Get a life" and "Who cares?" - why are you posting here if you don't care? Why are you reading this blog if you don't care? Protesting too much, methinks? We liked the show, we miss the show, OK? We haven't lost touch with reality ... just like everyone else, we enjoy the occasional entertainment and momentary escape from the mundane. We know there are terrible things happening all over the world and 'more important' things to talk about, but sometimes we just need some enjoyment and fun. Take your judgment somewhere else–if you don't care, then just go away!
I was a watcher up until the end of the 4th season and completely lost interest. The writing got so muddy with everyone somehow connected to everyone else and all somehow connected to Sawyer. I gotta say I think these writers have serious mental issues. Did anyone notice that every Daddy was bad? Sun's father ran an evil empire, Hurley's dad ran off until he won the lottery, Sawyer's dad killed his mom with him in the room, Locke's dad tried to kill him, Jack/Claire's dad was a drunk who cheated on his wife and abandoned Claire. Michael was a murderer.Ben watched while his daughter was executed. Dude....these writers have serious Daddy issues and need to seek mental help.
Too good for TV. As an actor (albeit a barely working, barely paid one) I've always kind of chuckled at the distinction between film and TV, especially these days. Certainly there is some cheap syndicated fare that has more... amateurish actors. But most hit TV series have actors that are easily "film quality" if there is such a thing. And they tend to have to work a lot harder than their movie counterparts who have several months usually to film a 2 hour feature while TV actors tend to have to film numerous 40 minute shows in only a slightly longer time period. Also note that many former film actors are making themselves known as guest stars and even regulars on TV. Jeff Goldblum, Anna Paquin, Christian Slater just to name a few. There is less and less distinction these days between the two and while Hollywood agents will continue to try to port their TV celebrities to film (because of the generally bigger payout) and will do so stating that their talent is too good for TV, the real motivations have nothing to do with talent (plenty of hack actors in film) and everything to do with money.
Michael Emerson is incredible, I will be all over that show Synthetic Life.
Matthew Fox is too good for TV now, everyone clear on that? Don't you DARE expect him to be a part of another TV show, he is far above all that. Too bad he was one of the weakest actors on Lost. I did enjoy his character though and really liked the show, but compared to Terry O'Quinn and Michael Emerson, Fox couldn't compare.
Agreed that Terry O'Quinn and Michael Emerson were terrific, but the last season really did give Matthew Fox the chance to show some acting chops and depth. I'd pay to watch Terry and Michael read the phone book, though, so I get your point
James T. West - James T. Kirk
I rarely watched, but the really big guy on the show seemed like a good actor, maybe he will get work, he may be the male version of Gabrielle Sidebay
Ines and Lostie...Rent Josh's movie Cold Heart if you haven't already. It wasn't half bad.
Heres a thought, who cares?
You must, or surely you wouldn't have taken the time to visit the article.
I will watch anything with Josh Holloway in the cast!!!!
yes me too i want more josh
I still love LOST even though it is over. I still do not see a show out there to replace it! I wish all the actors well and hope they land new gigs soon.
Lost is over. Done. Move on.
So, I take it you've never watched anything more than one time in your entire life, or even thought back abut something once you've seen it? Once you've seen something, it just goes *poof* out of existence? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you might have brain damage.
The fact that apparently no-one has hired Josh Holloway yet is a travesty. Hire him and Evangeline Lilly as leads for something, dammit!
My understanding, though, is that he got the role as Sawyer for being himself. This is not to say he's a bad actor, but he's more unproven than either bad or good. His other works are pretty limited: A voice-acting role in a video game, a few TV movies, single-episode TV appearances, and two movie roles landed after Lost started. There's not a lot to bank on.
If a director needs a Josh Holloway-type character, Josh Holloway is a shoo-in. Should the character be anything other than a Josh Holloway-type, a director would be going out a limb in casting him.
Could Josh Holloway do something other than his type? Possibly. Does the director know that? Not really. Not yet.
Emil: "aaargh! where's my squirrel baby??"
I never got into this show. I am more into hot tranny pop singers like lady gaaga
Why would you post here then? Also I don't see how someone that is really into trannys would really be into Lady Gaga, the trannies look more feminine. Ha!
Uhg, Lost has ruined me on Emilie de Ravin. Found her to be so obnoxious – "My BABY, my BABY" with her accent just goes right through me! Hoping to not hear her voice again for quite some time... unfortunate that seems to be the only thing she is using in the near future.
I'm with you, girl. I literally cringed whenever baby Aaron disappeared (Danielle took him, Charlie took him) because I knew we were about to have our ears assaulted by the screaming Emilie, "___ took my baby!" Oy vey!
Hey what happened to Sun? who played Daniel Dae Kim's wife on the show. I almost wish they would cast her as his wife on Hawaii Five O along with daughter he never got to see on "Lost." It was such a heart breaking scene when they both died. It might help heal some "TV land fans hearts" and give them some closure.
"wow what a retarded comment" ... a fitting into to the remainder of your comment, Stupid. Nice foreshadowing.
Pretty awesome how the guy put Stupid as his name then makes a stupid comment like that
I agree Zach! Ha -Ha.
I don't know, I'm kinda with the guy. Who needs closure on a fictional show through another fictional show? More to the point, who needs "closure" on a TV series at all. Surely we have better things to be concerned about as a nation....? No? Ah well.
Thanks, Tina. I was going to say it but you beat me to it.
Wait, wait, wait. You want the producers and writers for Hawaii 5 O to cast Yunjin Kim (that's her name, by the way, Sun is a fictional character from Lost) as his wife and then have the same baby thay had on Lost? Barbara, all kidding aside, you need to regain touch with reality. Lost was a show–a great show. But it was fiction. If you haven't found closure by now for the fictional losses of these characters...wow. Time to move on. Time to get a grip on reality.
What about Naveen Andrews from Lost? Any news on his future projects?
I wouldn't be surprised to see him on SVU again; they left the plot open for his character to come back.
