James Brolin: Paps are 'like rats'Note to celebs: James Brolin doesn’t need to see your underpants. The actor and husband of Barbra Streisand spoke to Parade.com about how celebrity has changed since he entered the industry. “I think we've got so much communication today, we've seen the underbelly of everything,” he said. “We've seen everybody's underpants.” No charges for 'Urkel' in alleged domestic violence disputeJaleel White, the actor likely best known for portraying the nerdy Steve Urkel on ABC's "Family Matters," has cleared his name. After reports surfaced last week that White had been involved in a domestic dispute with the mother of his child, the L.A. City Attorney’s Office has told CNN that while police did take a report, there wasn't enough for the City Attorney's Office to "take a look." As a result, the City Attorney's Office doesn't anticipate taking any action. Old Spice guy and Alyssa Milano get flirty on TwitterIf you haven’t figured it out yet, one of the best way to get a shirtless video response from Isaiah Mustafa – who, for better or worse, is now known as the “Old Spice guy” – is to address him on Twitter. And he’s not just paying attention to the regular folk who can’t get close to him now that he’s Emmy-nominated and all – Mustafa has also gotten into a flirty back-and-forth with actress Alyssa Milano. After Milano tweeted, “GENIUS. Shirtless Old Spice guy replies on Twitter w/ hilarious personalized videos,” noting that her husband is aware that she has a crush on Mustafa – and has taken to wearing Old Spice deodorant – the actor responded wearing his now trademark towel in the bathroom we now all know and love. Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Has the alleged Gibson audio been altered? When the "Showbiz Tonight" staff meeting ended this morning and we returned to our desks, nearly everyone apprehensively put on headphones to get another explosive earful of audio that purportedly captures Mel Gibson in a tirade. On the new tapes out today, the alleged voice of Gibson claims the actor/director's ex, Oksana Grigorieva, wiped out his bank account! The ranting voice on the tapes blamed the woman for getting him into so much financial trouble that he had to sell his box seats for the Lakers. The man’s voice complained, “I don’t have any [expletive] money!” and “you know what kind of trouble I’m in.” The man accuses the woman of “gouging” him, claiming he spent $5 million on her. The tapes keep on coming and the rage they exhibit continues to be disturbing, but the question for us on “Showbiz Tonight” is whether or not the tapes have been tampered with. So, what should we start calling these two?Levi Johnston’s sister, Mercede, has taken to her blog to let us know her thoughts on Levi's surprise engagement to his baby’s mother, Bristol. Upon waking up yesterday, Mercede writes that she was greeted with “a beautiful picture of Levi, Bristol, and Tripp on the cover of Us Weekly.” But, she adds, “Not exactly the image I wanted to come face to face with when I first opened my eyes. This post arrived on the heels of yet even more details surrounding the engagement, which revealed that Levi proposed with rose petals in the shape of a heart on Bristol's bed. (Swoon?) ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ episode earns record ratingsYou would think another table was flipped. Many, many people tuned in to Monday night’s episode of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” pulling in record ratings for the network that launched the five-city reality franchise. This episode featured a showdown (once again) between Teresa and Danielle. Danielle was called a [expletive], Teresa's home was said to be in foreclosure, a chase ensued, heels were broken and then, lo and behold, Danielle’s hair was pulled (but, strangely, not by Teresa - Ashley jumped in and did it for her.) Tom Cruise will be in 'M:I-4'Looks like Tom Cruise didn’t have anything to worry about after all. A few weeks after insiders started questioning Cruise’s placement in “Mission: Impossible 4” because his latest feature, "Knight and Day,” got off to a bumpy start, the actor himself has confirmed that he will once again play the role of Ethan Hunt. According to Paramount, he’ll not only star in the franchise’s fourth installment, but he’ll also sit in the producer’s chair again. J.J. Abrams will join him as co-producer, and Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec - who both worked with Abrams on "Alias" - will pen the script. The familiar theme music will be cued on Memorial Day weekend, 2011. If that movie release date sticks, "M:I-4" will be thought of as one of the flicks that should show up at the box office as a bonafide summer blockbuster. But remember how poorly big features like "SATC2" did this year - do you think he can pull it off? Orlando Bloom gets a college degreeForget his recent engagement to supermodel Miranda Kerr; Orlando Bloom can't stop gushing about his new college degree! "It's a really big deal. It's an exciting day for me," Bloom told UK reporters of the honorary degree bestowed upon him by the University of Kent. Wearing a mortarboard and red graduation gown, the 33-year-old English actor joined more than 340 graduates for the ceremony at Canterbury Cathedral. "I'm really honored to be back in my hometown," said Bloom. "I have so many amazing memories of the cathedral and Canterbury." Costumes steal the show on 'SYTYCD'In the beginning of what will forever be known as the post-Alex era of "So You Think You Can Dance's" seventh season, Wednesday night's episode showed growth for all of the remaining dancers, save two. The first would be Ashley, who is the second dancer in a row to get injured in rehearsals. Is there a NappyTabs curse now? After last week's amazing ninja hip-hop routine, Ashley had some damage to her ribs and was told to sit out the show (following Alex's hip-hop routine which turned out to be his farewell performance). That doesn't sound as bad as what happened to Alex, so here's hoping she won't suffer the same fate. Betty White to guest star on 'Community'Well, it's official: NBC's "Community," which has gradually grown a devoted fanbase over the past year, has finally arrived. Betty White will be guest-starring on the show when it returns in the fall. Just about everything White has touched lately has turned into gold ("Hot in Cleveland," anyone?), and "Community" could certainly use the ratings boost as it faces off against CBS' hit "The Big Bang Theory" for the first time. White will play a professor on the show, and if the other educators at Greendale Community College are any indication, her character will probably be more than a little eccentric. At this point, a network should probably just give White her own talk show - we know we'd watch. What other up-and-coming comedies are in need of a Betty White cameo? |
