'Mad Men': Don't let AT&T drop us!Do not mess with Don Draper! The “Mad Men” Twitter account has become ground zero in the battle to keep the show on the air for AT&T customers. The following from @MadMen appeared on July 13: "Attention AT&T customers: @ATT is threatening to drop AMC, so you won't see season 4 of Mad Men. Fight back here,” with a link to IWantMyTVChannels.com. Let's a play a game of, 'Remember when Levi said...'Finally, a wedding is in the works for America's favorite Alaskan family. According to Us Weekly, Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston have secretly been engaged for two weeks. Bristol told the magazine they are hoping their parents will "jump on board." But given the couple's rocky past with both families hurling accusations, it's probably wise that the lovebirds try to head down the aisle quickly. So, in honor of the wedding that hopefully won't get canceled this time, we're going to recap the verbal ping-pong that led to Levi putting a ring on it. Kristin Chenoweth gets a little dirty on LettermanBroadway star Kristin Chenoweth was nothing short of adorable on the “Late Show with David Letterman” Tuesday night. But she did get a little dirty as she chatted with Letterman, although it wasn't on purpose. When discussing her love of Starbucks and the power of Twitter, Chenoweth let the "past tense of the word twit," as TV Squad so helpfully put it, slip - but the misused word was quickly bleeped out. 'Pretty Little Liars': The big danceTrue to form, “Pretty Little Liars” came back strong Tuesday night after last week’s somewhat flat episode - not that it really matters. Once you’re hooked, you’re hooked. We started the episode with Aria laying in bed sulking, thinking back on all the amazing times she spent with Fitz while her friends desperately try to console her about her parents’ marital troubles. Aria: You might as well tell them about Fitz before A does. In an attempt to cheer her up, the girls discuss their homecoming plans over Chinese takeout. Behind the Scenes on ‘Showbiz Tonight’: Levi and Bristol are headed to the chapelThe Palin family news today was so big, “Showbiz Tonight’s” Executive Producer Dave Levine dubbed it, “The Bristol Palin Bombshell." And what a bombshell it is. Some of the producers at the “Showbiz Tonight” morning meeting nearly fell out of their chairs when they heard that Bristol and Levi Johnston have announced that they’re getting hitched. The two broke the news in the latest issue of Us Weekly, which reveals that the couple hid their impending nuptials from Sarah Palin. “Showbiz Tonight’s” A.J. Hammer was a little skeptical this morning, theorizing that this news was probably no surprise to the former vice presidential candidate. 'The Secret' author back with 'The Power'Well, perhaps this is one we can chalk up to the power of positive thinking. Rhonda Byrne, author of the best-selling book, “The Secret,” has another tome on deck with Atria Books called “The Power.” While “Secret” was all about drawing happiness and contentment to you through a law of attraction, “Power” will show “how perfect health, incredible relationships, a career you love, a life filled with happiness, and the money you need to be, do, and have everything you want, all come from the power,” Byrne’s publisher told the NYT. “The Secret” was on best-seller lists for more than three years, selling more than 19 million copies, Atria said. It will be interesting to see how “The Power” performs when it lands in bookstores on August 17. John Stamos considered alleged extortionist a friendJohn Stamos was on the stand for three-and-a-half hours Tuesday as this complicated extortion case – with Stamos at the center of it – drags on. According to CNN affiliate WLUC in Marquette, Michigan, Stamos was asked questions about his alleged relationship with Allison Coss, the 24-year-old woman who has been charged with attempting to extort the “Full House” star for $680,000. (Back in December, Coss and her boyfriend, Scott Sippola, allegedly approached Stamos and said they would sell photos of the actor posing with fans, as his reps described them, to tabloids.) Marilyn Monroe's dog Maf to have his sayAlmost 48 years after her death, yet another Marilyn Monroe biography is hitting the shelves, but this one is from her dog. "The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog and of His Friend Marilyn Monroe," a comic novel by author Andrew O'Hagan, is due in December. The book is written from the viewpoint of Monroe's Maltese, who lived with the star during the last two years of her life. Maf's adventure began in England, but Natalie Wood's mother was responsible for bringing the pooch to America and selling him to Frank Sinatra, who presented the canine to Monroe as a Christmas gift. 'The Hills' = not real. Oh, you didn't know?Much like the episodes in the past six seasons of MTV’s “The Hills,” nothing really happened in the uber-hyped finale. But honestly, did you expect anything different? The ending - where the camera pans out on Brody Jenner, who had just said “goodbye” to Kristin Cavallari, to reveal a Hollywood lot and a fake backdrop - was the acknowledgment that we have all been waiting for: The drama and shenanigans of the past six episodes weren't entirely true. But again, did you expect anything different? Alan Ball keeps death alive on HBO“Six Feet Under” and "True Blood" fans, it looks like this one is for you: HBO is putting Alan Ball featuring yet another show about dead people, “All Signs of Death.” Much like “True Blood” – which has its literary roots in Charlaine Harris’s series of novels - “All Signs of Death” will be adapted from Charlie Huston’s crime noir novel, “The Mystic Arts of Erasing Death.” With Ball behind the scenes as executive producer and director, and Huston as scriptwriter, “All Signs” will tell the story of a 20-something underachiever who discovers he's got a talent in cleaning crime scenes in Los Angeles, and becomes exposed to the city’s gritty underbelly. We’re not exactly sure how Ball is going to work sex into this yet, but judging from his track record, we have no doubt he will. However, we also haven’t picked up Huston’s novel – amateur book reviewers: should we? – and if you have cracked those covers, let us know what we can look forward to. |
