Before the fame, there was 'The Hills' for GagaLong before she was performing in sold-out concert halls, angering baseball fans and Jerry Seinfeld, and making "Today" show history by drawing a crowd of 18,000, Lady Gaga appeared on "The Hills" without much fanfare. "Nobody remembers," People's Revolution powerhouse and "The City" star Kelly Cutrone told MTV of Gaga's 2008 appearance alongside series regulars Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port. "MTV has got to take credit for this right now because People's Revolution put Lady Gaga on TV before anybody. She's on there and Lauren or Whitney, I think, they break her jumpsuit..." Actually, it was Conrad, 24, and Port, 25, who saved the day for the singer.
In a clip from the episode, a somewhat timid Gaga is seen searching for Port backstage at a fashion show. "I have a problem," she mouths, pointing to the zipper on the back of her PVC catsuit. Conrad comes to her rescue by fixing the zipper, prompting cheers all around. "You are Superwoman right now!" Gaga, 24, told her before sweetly giving both girls a big hug and taking the stage. |
