Lindsay Lohan might have been sentenced to 90 days in jail, but she’s still free to tweet and, for two more weeks, party too.
Thankfully, she decided to skip her own party to celebrate her 24th birthday last night. But this morning at our meeting, we could not ignore her outrageous tweets! She quoted something from the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human rights, writing, “No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment," and then linked to an article entitled “Iranian Woman Faces Stoning for Adultery."
Clearly, the "Showbiz Tonight" staff was mystified by the timing and choice of her tweets, which lead us to wonder if she’s actually comparing her jail sentence to international human torture. What do you think they could mean?
In more breaking Lohan news today we've got new insight into which drugs the actress is actually taking, and what her father, Michael Lohan, has to say about them - will these new drug revelations vindicate him once and for all?
Something else that had the staff scratching their heads today is whether or not Levi Johnston was forced to apologize to the Palin family. His sister sure thinks so. Levi’s sis, Mercede Johnston, blogged about her brother’s apology, saying, “Not only is he being controlled like a puppet, but saying that all of his comments and stories were lies is absurd!”
So what’s the real truth behind Levi’s apology? "Showbiz Tonight" uncovers that mystery tonight.
In other news, this year's Emmy nominations certainly had a few surprises, and we're covering the ones that caught everyone off guard, as well as rolling out reactions from all of the big Emmy nominees.
Watch "Showbiz Tonight" live at 5 p.m. ET today and also at 11 p.m. ET/PT on HLN!
