Looks like “Scream 4” has lined up quite a killer cast.
Besides having franchise regulars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette on board, the rest of the lineup reads like a Who’s Who of Hollywood’s hottest young talent.
Emma Roberts beat out “Twilight” bloodsucker Ashley Greene for the role of heroine Jill, the cousin of Campbell’s tormented character Sidney Prescott.
“Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere is Jill’s film geek best friend, Kirby, while Rory Culkin will play Jill’s potential love interest as Charlie, according to reports.
Adam Brody ("The O.C.") also recently joined the cast as just-graduated cop Detective Hoss, who was raised on “CSI” and “Community,” and “Mad Men” star Alison Brie just signed on as Sidney’s personal assistant, Rebecca, who envies her boss’s fame. (Hmm…)
The film is directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson - the same team behind the “Scream” trilogy - and it began shooting in Michigan last week in preparation for an April 2011 release.
As with the previous films, the plot is being kept top secret, even from the actors. According to THR, at a recent table read, the actors were cut off at page 75 to prevent them from knowing the ending.
