The "Showbiz Tonight" staff was teeming with burning questions in the morning meeting today after Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to a total of 90 days in jail, but here's the big one: Does she deserve 90 days in jail for what she did?
Some are saying Lindsay was treated unfairly, but a few of us at “Showbiz Tonight” think the judge was completely fair. As producer Sid Lipsey put it, “This wasn’t about [Lohan's] SCRAM bracelet or her substance abuse issues, this is about her blowing off classes, going off to Cannes and everything else!”
Her crying game didn’t help, either, “Showbiz Tonight” Executive Producer David Levine pointed out, since she never took responsibility for her actions.
So what do you think: Will jail set Lindsay straight? Was she sincere in her plea to the judge? And did the punishment fit the crime? Let us know the answer to that question in the "Showbiz Tonight" poll today. And if you’re still shaking your head (like we are) over how Judge Marsha Revel flattened Lohan's case right before her very eyes, sound off over on our Facebook page.
Speaking of judges, former “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul may have some reality show competition. Abdul recently signed on to be a judge on a new dance reality show called “Got To Dance,” and now “Idol” host Ryan Seacrest has announced he’s launching a reality dance show of his own - with Lady Gaga’s choreographer. Should Paula be concerned or can they both dance their way to reality success?
A lot of jaws in the morning meeting dropped when we heard Levi Johnston is apologizing to Sarah Palin. Levi told People that he wanted to publicly apologize to Sarah for his “youthful indiscretion."
We were all slightly baffled by Levi’s words, although Producer Jenny D’Attoma thinks the apology is a sign that he and Bristol are getting back together.
That would make perfect sense since Levi said that he and Bristol are “getting past” their differences. Could reconciliation between Bristol and Levi be on the horizon now that Levi has called a truce with Sarah? We'll give you our view on "Showbiz Tonight," airing live at 5 p.m. ET and also at 11 p.m. ET/PT on HLN.
