OMG! Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon has a "totally cool" blog!
Writing under her nickname, Lola, the 13-year-old shares her music, fashion and even color faves on the site for Material Girl, the clothing collection she is launching with her mom and Macy's on August 3.
"I'm just going to use this blog entry to tell y'all a little bit about myself," she writes in a Valley Girl tone, adding that the '80s - the decade that made 51-year-old Madonna a star - "is a huge obsession of mine, which is totally amazingly awesome because Material Girl, HELLO! It's like '80s themed, which pretty much rocks, so yeah."
Besides loving '80s-style shorts and vintage stores in the Whitechapel section of London, Madge's daughter reveals that she is mad about the band My Chemical Romance and that "I'll be 14 in October, so I can't wait for that because I am FINALLY allowed to dye my hair THANK YOU MOTHER!!"
Oxidizing agents are usually hydrogen peroxide, and the alkaline environment is usually provided by ammonia. The combination of hydrogen peroxide and the primary intermediate causes the natural hair to be lightened, providing a "blank canvas" for the dye. Ammonia opens the hair shaft pores so that the dye can actually bond with the hair and speeds up the reaction of the dye with the hair.....

those hair dyes that are coming from coal tar are dangerous and often causes allergies ..
Any of you still have her book from back in the day??
So much talk about hair-color.... Interesting, from an antropologic point of view. What does it mean to you, to die your hair? Does it signify something more?
I think Madonna is a realistic parent, and I have a feeling that in her private little nest she's a good mom, let's her daughter grow up with rules, but allowes what should be. Just by admitting her mother now allows her do color her hair it shows she listens to her mom and respects her. This is a good example of motherhood, cause she could have done it anyway, or not even care her mom allows or not.
Even if Madonna has been a role model that has made young girls go wild (like myself if I remember well) she cannot be expected to let her own daugther go wild, Madonna has grown up over the years and knows what is "show/stage", and what should enter the privateness of her home.
Good luck with the puberty years, they aint over yet, 14 is just the beginning ;-)
hey lol what rong with my grmmar? Ashley myob, both of you bruntees right.
you r so beautiful no matter what color yr hair just remember your culture where your from and blonde may have worked for yr mom but may not for u i am 70 yrs old and very much aware of the young wanted to look like the bobby dolls and vally girls that is not who u are you are a dark and beautiful spirit u r from two worlds dont ever leave your own image for another your mom did so with success you will have your own path, gifts to give others your spirit comes from your heritage with or without dyed hair your soul and eyes are still so pure lol
Twice I posted a comment about how this artice and particular medium serves as a distraction from the real issues of life and twice they were deleted. LOL
Yes. That is part of the illusion that keeps most people in darkness.
People are so shallow when they think the way these people look is the only thing that makes them worthwhile.
To the can't let go people!!!!!
Oh baby you are a copy of youe mamy.
wb I think you are the ignorant one. Is it possible for you to put together a grammatically correct sentence?
No, Ashley. It's impossible for "wacky biznatch" to do that. It's funny when a person such as wb is unable to write a grammatically correct response while calling other people stupid.
usually, they don't post my comments. You morons are all really stupid, this is just to get publicity for her
daughter, Lordes who is ugly. I have never seen a goodlucking brunette. mcdonna does have talent
as all blondes do, but she had to go blond first, then the talent came. when lordes (what a name) goes
blond she will get talent. If not she will stay ugly and stupid. How much work or common sense does
it take to sell clothes. NONE STUPID PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PUBLICITY STUNT. OUT OF HERE, YOU PEOPLE ARE BEYOND
IGNORANT (THAT MEANS STUPID)
Hey "wanna-be blond" (hence the wb), maybe you should dye your hair blond so that you can have some success writing a grammatically correct sentence. Idiot! No wonder your comments get deleted. My apologies for writing a sentence that you're probably having trouble reading.
The 2 of them might make an interesting tag team in 5 years
I must be a horrible mom. I was dying my hair Red because I was bored and couldn't get into the stylist. My son pokes his head in and says "I want red hair too", he is 9 and yes he has red hair now! Well, it is really not that red anymore and he is bummed. I see no problem with it...now my 4 yr old – no ma'am that girls got natural highlights!
I'm actually really impressed. I figured that Lourdes would be a total mess by now but Madonna has apparently turned out to be a pretty good mom.
Who would've thought?
I think it's nice that Lourdes appears to be a 'normal' girl at her age despite having one of the most successful entertainers as a mother. Some kids would let it go to their heads, but it sounds like Madonna keeps her professional life separate from her personal life and her responsibility as a mom is clearly defined. In this day of super-information overload and cynicism, people forget that kids are still kids and little things like being able to dye your hair can be considered a privlege. I hope she grows up to be a well-adjusted, responsible adult.
Best wishes to Lourdes. I have been a fan of Madonna for a long time, I am 47. She looks just like her mom.
ha ha ha geez you pple in the west are really full of anger, hatred, resentment @monique,durk,firefly you guys will really die poor!! he he he very poor
I think it's hilarious that the entire comment section is full of what she is going to do with her hair.
I bet she gets some good advise from mom and her stylists. Hope she chooses something that flatters her eyes. Best feature.
Give the kid a break. After, having Madonna as a mom with all the adopted kids, divorces, etc.
Shave her mustache, beard and uni-brow.
Not nice at all. She is just a kid. A beautiful one at that. She has years to perfect the tweezing and beauty torture women must go through. Being a man I do not expect you to understand.
My nieces were dying their hair all different colors at that age. You want to know was giving them the biggest compliments on it? The elderly.
Just wondering....what was Madonna doing at age 14?
Craving nose candy.
Gwen Stefani bleached her oldest son's hair...he is 3!
MORE SKIN ON LOVE BOAT!
Why on earth would she want to dye her hair?!? I think she has beautiful brunette hair that just needs a bit of shape and flair to bring her face out more with those dark eyes.
I agree. She's beautiful with the dark hair; but I also remember how fun it was to dye my hair when I was young (sigh). I let my daughter (now 15) dye her hair too. It's all in fun and there are worse things she could be doing at 15. Enjoy your youth, Lola, but don't forget to acknowledge your "natural" beauty as well.
You people need to branch out a bit more and leave the protectiveness of your dark, ignorant caves! What's the big friggin' deal about Lola dying her hair at the age of 14?!
durk is the only one I've noticed with the issue. Dunno what other "people" you're referring to.
There's nothing wrong with being protective, you weirdo. It's the hair dye issue we were talking about. I think I first got highlights at 12- it was super exciting at that age.
Might I suggest the next time you write a stupid comment that you think of all the smarter responses that will be headed your way...
I have read that Madonna is a total strict mom when it comes to parenting with little tv to watch, time to waste, etc. I command that and no wonder her daughter seems intelligent and normal. How many times have you read kids doing drugs, smoking cigerettes and doing far more insane things than dying their hair at 14 w/ mom's permission. Get real folks... there are far bigger crisis to worry about when it comes to kids.
I have no idea why Madonna would put any restrictions on her daughter Lourdes. That is certainly not in concord with the message she purveyed to my children during her illustrious career. It seems very hypocritical at best.
Is Madonna your childrens' mother? It's your job to mind and guide your own, not hers.
Chris...sooo true...she is very hypocritical. Also she has no difficulty in using her children over the years to exploit for financial gain...so what if she is holding off letting her color her hair...she has already robbed her of her innocence. Cant wait for the book by Lola called "Madonna Dearest".
Oh come on! Madonna rocks. Just because your kid listened to "Like a Virgin" you think she's the devil? If your kid turned to drugs I'd blame her overly protective parent not an 80s pop icon
Oh wonderful....here come all the nasty, cruel comments....
I say, good for her, young enterpreneur that has her Mother's backing. What is so wrong with that? Who among us would not do the same, if we could? Good luck on her new business venture.
@durk – dying her hair is not a big deal you big ol prude. There are worse things in the world. Let the girl dye her hair and feel she has a little independence. No big deal.
I don't think Madonna is twisted for letting her daughter dye her hair at the age of 14. I grew up in a very small town and to express myself I dyed my hair with my parents approval everything from blue to natural colors. I did it safely and since my parents took part in what I did, they felt better about it too. Props to Madonna for setting limits and being apart of her child's life. If letting a child dye her hair makes people horrible mothers, please tell my 10 year lung cancer survivor mother that she was awful for letting me dye my hair.
Props and best wishes to you and your mother!
Dyeing her hair at 14 is not that big of a deal this day and age. At least she is not a drug or alcohol addict or pregnant. Everyone has their own opinions, but come on... it is hair coloring... It is not picking baby names out...
Your mom is a hero and an inspiration! Having fought that battle with a family member, I admire the courage that your family has to face such a horrendous battle. Puts things like a little hair dye into perspective. :D Best Wishes!
Durk– are you serious, there are kids that are 10 that get highlights put in their hair. I commend Madonna (and/or father) for setting guidelines for her. Most parents don't even do that!
Oh really, dye her hair at 14??? How twisted a mother Madonna is -guess that's what you get from a 51 year old who dates boys barely out of puberty..Imagine this girl when she is 21, she will really be used merchandise!
Who cares if she dyes her hair at 14? I got highlights at 14, that did not take away from my morals or my grades.
oh please, just shut the hell up! She's just a kid!
I think Madonna is being conservative with that. Hair dye is one of the greatest things of all time and when you are 14 you can have pink or purple or whatever color you like. Now I am too old to dye my hair silly colors again and my boss will likely not be too pleased. So have fun, dye your hair blue, it's not like doing crack.
What a 'durk' you must be . . .
Are you serious? What are you, Amish? Oooo, she's dying her hair. How scandalous!
Oh come on now. I was the goody two shoes girl and even I dyed my hair that young. I am a MD now so that probably didn't hurt me that much!!
Madonna notoriously relegated her children's access to popular media for their early childhood. I would call any parent who refuses to allow their children unfettered access to whatever they want SUPERIOR PARENTS.
I started dying my hair younger than that, and my parents were super strict. I think 14 is actually at the older range of that allowance.
She's dyeing her hair at 14?!!??! I guess that means mass murder is in her future...
Oh, please don't dye your hair! You're a dark-haired beauty, embrace it and love who you are!
