Black Brits come out to festival to celebrate Idris Elba

There  has been a bit of a British invasion in Miami recently .

The American Black Film Festival is being held in that city and quite a few black Brits showed up in support and celebration of the festival’s ambassador, actor Idris Elba.

Elba, best known for his work on HBO’s “The Wire” and NBC’s “The Office,” has been making the rounds at the festival where he has two films, the action-thriller “Takers” and “Legacy,” where he plays a mentally unstable Black Ops operative.

The actor said he’s been coming to the festival for a few years and is “happy to be part of a thriving and growing film community.”

“For me, as an actor, it’s great to see the work ABFF is doing,” Elba said Thursday morning at the organization’s Founder’s Brunch held to thank sponsors of the festival.

Emma C. Thomas has worked with Elba on his BBC crime thriller “Luther,” which is soon to come to BBC America.

“He’s our homeboy,” Thomas said of Elba. “I came all the way from the U.K. to be here and my friend came from the Cayman Islands. We are so proud of him."

Excuse me!! but that time I checked the majority of the people who attended the film festivals were white!!! That's why Black Americans had to create their own because they were not even allowed to be in the same room with White Americans let alone accepted as legitimate film makers in the movie business. So why don't you go do your research before accusing people of being racist when Hollywood chooses to purposely portray people of color not only black people, anyone who's not seen as white as a stereotypical side kick character or buffon unless the actors has been in the industry for years. For example Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman. Asian people have it even worse did you see what they did to Prince of Persia and Avatar The Last Air bender. They completely white-washed all the main characters and then made the villains Middle Eastern or Asian. But off course minorities have no right to complain right?? Why don't you try being oppressed in society then talk to me about reverse racism!! Get a grip!!
