The latest episode opened with Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer taking a walk through the woods - dressed to the nines, of course (except for maybe Hanna, who was channeling “Flash Dance” with her off-the-shoulder sweatshirt).
The girls were looking for a shed (presumably the same one they set fire to before Alison’s disappearance) and they talked about their plans to make a shrine for Alison there (because what else is there to do when you’re receiving incriminating text messages about events only known to the deceased?).
But right in the midst of their ‘maybe we should build the shrine in town so everyone can see it’ debate, in comes another text: “Heads up BFFs. It’s open season on liars and I’m hunting. -A.”
Later, over a lemon poppy seed muffin, Aria’s dad asks how she likes Mr. Fitz, which is the single most awkward question you can ask your daughter if she were, say, engaging in an intimate relationship with said teacher. (Which she is.)
Luckily, the conversation was cut short when Dad’s former mistress - played by Jody Sawyer from “Center Stage” - walks over to the table right after Aria’s mother ran inside to grab her another muffin.
In another part of town, Spencer can’t seem to understand why her sister Melissa is still mad at her for making out with her fiancé. She also can't seem to escape the tension and dirty looks from her family, as her mother tells her going to her room is simply not an option because she just had her bedspread dry-cleaned. Naturally.
Though Spencer does get points for trying to clear the air when she takes the train to visit Wren, she needs to stop pretending she’s innocent. “Tell them what really happened,” she asked Wren. No, Spencer, allow me: You flirted with your sister’s fiancé and then the two of you made out - that's what really happened.
The girls later run across a surprise at school when Toby Cavanaugh and his sister Jenna walk down the hall, arm-in-arm. A flashback reveals that the girls saw Toby carrying Jenna out of the burning shed, and Alison told the girls to stay back while she talked Toby into taking the blame for the accident. What could Alison possibly have on Toby?
He showed up again in the girl’s locker room (of all places) when Emily's boyfriend surprised her by pinning her up against the lockers, and not in a good way. Thankfully, Toby was randomly lurking in the locker room and was on hand to beat the crap out of him so Emily was free to go.
The detective who has been “investigating” Hanna’s mom far past the "call of duty" had already held a totally inappropriate conversation with Hanna in the principal's office - during which he accused her of losing weight and styling her hair to look like Alison - topped it off by rummaging through her purse and spotting the bracelet Alison gave each of the girls.
Emily and Maya wind up taking their friendship to the next level when they make out in a photo booth at the party, but someone grabbed the pictures before the girls came out. Maya doesn't seem upset by this, which only strengthens my initial reaction of her – this girl is no good.
When Emily gets home from the party, she sees Toby sitting on his porch across the street and walked over to thank him for rescuing her in the locker room. After she heads home, Jenna, who was creepily sitting in the shadows behind Toby, asks why Emily thanked him. All Toby would tell her is that it's not what she thinks it is.
At the end of the show, the girls venture back into the woods where they find Alison’s bracelet on the ground. A clue! Sort of.
The episode ended with a shot of a darkroom wall covered with the pictures of Emily and Maya kissing from the photo booth. Is it sad that my first thought was, “A darkroom? Why wouldn’t they have just had the photos reprinted at Costco or something?”
What did you think of last night’s episode?
omg wats going tuh happen if sumone finds ought bouht the teacher thing
Too bad the one on the far left is Latina... Good try though
Here we go again. Another show that contains nothing but white teens. It is ridiculous the lack of diversity on television.
Casey, the point wasn't that people don't want you to disagree with them but that your reasons for thinking it is "so lame" are incorrect. You think its lame that they come out with tv shows after similar movies were made and they are simply pointing out to you that these tv shows are based on books that predate the movies, so they are not copying like you think they were. Like it or don't but they are trying to make sure that you dislike based on your own preferences not based on misinformation. Meanwhile, how bout y'all all stop insulting each other and acting like children.
Casey, you are stupid. Learn to spell. Nobody on this page likes you so stop taking up all the comment spaces. And these shows are great, and you can't have an opinion, because you are obviously an idiot. Get some friends, stop spending so much time on here and suck my wiener
All I had was an accidental extra letter in with and put teh instead of the. At least mine wasn't gibberish :) <3
HEY GUYS I'M SOOO SRY. I JUST DUN NO ANY BETTER. I'M REALLY RETARDED
i try to make my words shorter but u caroline in the other hand ur really miss spelling them..soo u should also try typin correctly next time too...no hard feelings ok
I MEANT BUT THE FANS WERENT PREPARED FOR IT..
WELL THANK U CAROLINE..AND ABOUT MY TYPING..I JUST TRY TO MAKE THE WORDS SHORTER BUT UNDERSTANDABLE..BUT WATS IMPORTANT IS DAT U GOT MY POINT OF VIEW "RIGHT"...I AM PREPARED BUT THE FAND WERENT.. LOL..HAHAHA BUT I GUESS THANX
Ok Casey, it's totally your right to disagree wwith other people's taste, but if you put something on a comment board, no matter if it's positive or negative, you have to be prepared for other people's point of view. Now I love the show, but obviously you have every right in teh world to disagree. And also, you might try typing correctly next time; maybe then people would take you more seriously.
SO STOP HAVIN A FIT ABOUT IT AND MOVE ON WIT UR LIFE...WHY ARE U GUYS GETTIN SOO OFFENDED..THERES MORE PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD THAT DONT LIKE DAT DOESNT MEAN U GUYS HAVE TO STOP LIKIN IT..SO STOP BEIN SO CHILDISH AND GET USE TO THE FACT DAT NOT EVERYONE IS GOIN TO LIKE THE SHOWS U GUYS LIKE OK...LAMEEE
IT WAS A COMMENT..SORRY FANS DEAL WITH IT...AND I DONT NEED TO KNOW FACTS OR READ..I DONT LIKE "DONT LIKE IT" SIMPLE AS DAT..IS IT HARD TO UNDERSTAND OR WHAT...SORRY FANS..
"I DONT NEED TO KNOW FACTS OR READ" Well it is quite evident that you in fact do not know facts or read in general.
I think its funny that people can talk so bad about shows/ movies.. If you dont like it dont watch it?? and if you hate it so much why are you even commeting on the show?
BTW I <3 all of those movies/ shows/ books
vampire diaries blows twilght out of the water...........now on to this show...i like it so far i am all for the teacher/student romance just wish she was closer to 18.....ti loved how aria stood up a bit to the dad's ex mistress....i have a feeling the ex mistress is going to find out about her and the teacher...i also think jenna is A as to most people more than likely and i don't think she is blind
I agree with Andrea as well . Pretty Little Liars was made way before sorority row and if you watch the show you would see that they are absolutely nothing alike and either is Vampire Diaries and twilight really??
get your facts straight!
This episode gave a lot of missing clues that were making things quite confusing for me. And you left out the part about how Hanna's mom broke up with the cop which I think was good for her but might cause problems later down the road for Hanna..i hope not. And at the end with the wall of pictures, like what's up with that? Creepy.
I totally agree with Andrea. Too many ignorant people say stupid things nowadays. And Pretty Little Liars (and Vampire Diaries) ROCKS! :)
Andrea, don't even bother with teeny-boppers like that.
Andrea – THANK YOU! That was exactly what i was thinking..
Hey Casey, you might want to actually do research on shows before you spout off and make yourself look like an idiot. First of all, Pretty Little Liars was a book that was turned into a t.v. show and the girls didnt kill the friend. Also, Vampire Diaries and even the True Blood were books written long before Twilight. Vampire Diaries was written over 20 years ago and is now a t.v. show because vampires are the "in" thing. So next time you want to have a tantrum and rant about something, how about knowing the facts first!!
i think its soo lame..first they do a movie about some teenage girls killin their friend by accident now they come out with a show seriously i swear people just dont know wat to do anymore how about get a LIFEE..and come up with a better show..like twilight its a nice movie i actually love it and then they came up with vampire diaries...SERIOULSY what is that...people cant come up with their own show they got to take someone elses ideas..but i guess thats just the way its works..
Its quite laughable that you rant about this when in the same breath you say you "love twilight" LMAO. Just to further your knowledge. This show, twilight, vampire diaries, gossip girl are all based off books. Maybe you should start reading.
lol you're an idiot. pretty little liars was a book long before sorority row came out and they're so different.
and are you seriously going to sit there and compare vampire diaries and twilight? Vampire Diaries is amazing and was a book 20 years ago. Twilight copied most of Vampire Diaries' ideas. Vampire Diaries is a much better book and show than Twilight.
So how about you shut up and stop making yourself look like an idiot and actually know what you're talking about, k?
Another show about teen-angst. UGH! Drive home lower morals and social skills with this trite garbage. A bunch of emaciated girls who look like they all failed lunch! EAT SOMETHING ACTRESSES! If anyone thinks this TV show is worth anything, then you need to turn off the TV and start reading more.
mhay be they need some ideas for otha shows or reasons
who was the guy staring at spencer when all the girls left her by herself at the party?
I think that was Toby, Jenna's brother
It didn't look anything like the Toby from the locker room.
I loved it. Pretty Little Liars is awesome so far.
