Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart tie the knot

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart have tied the knot after 8 years together, Flockhart's rep confirmed to CNN. The couple wed in New Mexico on Tuesday, where Ford is filming "Cowboys and Aliens," according to People.

The wedding was performed by New Mexico's Governor Bill Richardson, under the legal supervision of the state's Chief Justice Charles W. Daniels. The couple's 9-year-old son, Liam - whom Flockhart adopted in 2001 - was also in attendance.

Ford, 67, proposed to Flockhart, 45, on Valentine's Day in 2009. This is marriage number four for Ford, and the first for Flockhart.

It was obvious from the start, she capitalized on a married man who was suffering emotionally from a painful seperation from his wife and 2 kids. In comes this young opportunist, spilling a drink on him supposedly by accident and getting him under a dizzy spell with her superficial alllie cat charms- all the while bringing in an innocent baby to boot...knowing darn well that he is a nurturing kind of guy.. Manipulation from the beginning can not make a relationship last no matter how good it seems, even if a nugget of a ring is eventually put on the finger, sooner or later the dorian gray mask to the whole situation falls off and the truth is just plain ugly. Spirituallity from the first start endures for lasting ties.

The only thing to regret is not having more time together, but you can sure make the most of what you've got, which is more than the divorcing hordes seem to appreciate!

I've been reading a lot of stupid comments about their age difference, like it is so out of the blue. Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones have over 20 years age difference. Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have over 20 years age difference. Geeez people get a grip!

It irritates me to see a lot of dumb comments here. Posting comments about Al Gore and the politics thinking they're "oh so smart". Yet, they are reading this entertainment page and posting "no brainer" comments. Bring your political discussion to the Politics category will you?

And for those who pretend they are not interested to read this, why spend your time reading this news if you're not interested? Read something that you really like will you? And if you happen to read an article that you don't like, don't announce your ignorance to the whole world. You can read the headline, so you know what it's all about even before you open it.

    Congrats Harrison & Calista!

This is supposed to be controversial? As for his other marriages not working out, he said in the past he was too immature, self-centered and star-struck to make them work. One of his wives had MS and is confined to bed. He is paying for her hired help. Yeah, he has a bazillion dollars but lots of celebrities don't do that.
As for being old, he's 67 years old and still has enough energy to make action movies even if they aren't what they used to be, that says something.

I like Ford as an actor, and am a big fan of Star Wars and Indian Jones. But I lose respect for anyone working on marriage #3 or whatever it is. These people may get away this in this life time but on judgement day in front of the almighty God he's not going to count Oscars, cars, or money in the bank. But instead ask about the vows exchanged and why your pride and ego never allowed to work it out. Just part of the moral decay of America, and agree with a previous comment that Hollywood stars just set a bad example for our youth, or anyone for that matter.

I wish Harrison and Calista much happiness. The weight comments are not necessay. I have been both skinny and fat and either way, I received ugly comments. We are all different sizes for a reason, if we all looked just alike, that would just be wrong. Maybe she has a health problem that causes this. I have a health problem that causes my fat; used to be thin. I hate all the ugly comments because I don't look like a skinny model anymore. But just consider the source, a person who finds satisfaction in making ugly remarks is the real problem, not a person's size. good luck H and C!

    Two things:

First – Congrats to Harrison and Calista – for all appearances, they have been happy and in love for the years they have been together – we should wish them well.

Second – whoever keeps mis-quoting Al Gore about the internet must be a talk radio/fox fan...your ignorant hatred is showing...you finally came close, but still edited for effect...what Al Gore said was "During my service in the US Congress, I took iniative in the creation of the internet """"AS WE KNOW IT TODAY"""""meaning that when most of the other congresspeople were sneering that no one would use an internet and therefore the DARPA shouldn't get the funding to take things to the next level, it was Al Gore who told them how wrong they were. As usual a man of vision with his eye on the future gets turned into a soundbite joke by ignorant asses being led around by the nose by ignorant asses making a fortune doing it!

This is some mess. This just fuels lack of realism and gives hope to women everywhere in these relationships that are long past their expiration date. 'Maybe if I hold on . . . it happened for Calista'. Or the other ones looking at Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowes relationship to illustrate that sometimes married men do marry their mistresses. Whatever happened to love and commitment. The we can date for couple/few years commit and marry one another not that we're going 'be together' for eternity, till we've both slept with as many people as we want and our kids are in grammar school and then marry one another because we're too tired or old to convince ourselves we can find someone better. It's just a mess

Why does CNN even report a scandal like this? The immoral couple lived together, causing scandal amongst the young people of this country, like all the other hollywoods. Tell us about the couple who met, fell in love, then had a beautiful wedding without ever fornicating. Hollywood has given the young people of the world the most scandalous behavior. People like this should be ashamed of themselves for ruining many lives by a poor example.

As my father, who married my mother when he was 52 and she was 34 said, if you marry late in life and it's good, at least you had that. And if it's bad, well at least "til death do us part" isn't all that long. He died six days after their twenty-fifth anniversary. Best of luck, I say.

Wow, we have "no fat chicks!" and "anorexic stick!". There is such a narrow range of desireability for women. If women have adopted the "size doesn't matter" philosophy towards men, maybe men should return the favor. Besides, Calista looks pretty decent to me in this photo. Harrison, in contrast, does not.

At 67 and 45, it is likely that the only thing Calista gets regularly from Ford is whatever inner qualities he might have. She has to love him because she has her own money and he's an old bag now. She'll be doing his diapers soon and that's just a punishment for her. He married her because he's too old to get anyone else and who's going to do those diapers for him? Also, you can't take your money to the grave so why not arrange for Calista and son to inherit it? What selfish dude would prevent his partner and kid from receiving support? Only a total a-wipe man would withold support from his adopted kid because the genes are different. Children are made each day, not just born. You make your kids the way they are and genes have only some say in it. Screwed up kids reflect screwed up parents.

22 years is a big difference when one is 20 and the other 42.

But by the time someone is 45 they can make whatever choice they want, even to get married for the first time to Harrison Ford, and frankly, its a bit absurd to claim one was taken advantage of, or entered into it with the blinders of youthful enthusiasm, or whatever, c'mon.

Al Gore is to the "internet" as JFK was to the "space program". ROTFL! All the good folks that actually did invent the internet would think that's hilarious. DARPA – the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency – that originally developed the network concept and put it into practice predated Al's "fine service" to the country by a couple of decades. "During my service in the congress I took the initiative in inventing the internet" – Al Gore to Wolf Blitzer.

Comparing data taken with crude instruments decades ago and compiling it with data collected from the sophisticated equipment of today is also impossible.
