“Ugly Betty” may be gone, but fans of America Ferrera still have a reason to celebrate: The former star of the quirky ABC show is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Ryan Piers Williams, CNN has confirmed.

The actress first met Williams at the University of Southern California when he cast her in his student film, according to People (awww).

Ferrera, 26, was spotted wearing the ring as she walked the red carpet at the Edinburgh Film Festival in Scotland Wednesday.

The Hearst and Harpo job boards have undoubtedly gotten a workout since news broke yesterday that Oprah Winfrey had given her magazine staff perhaps one of the best gifts a boss can give these days: iPads, leather carrying cases, and – clearly the best part of the present – checks for $10,000.

While that kind of generosity is jaw-dropping in an economy where just holding onto a job can be difficult, let alone getting a tidy lump sum from the boss, Winfrey’s staff is likely used to it.

Back in 2005, Winfrey unloaded checks for $5,000 on her magazine staff to celebrate what was then the publication’s 5th anniversary. That same year, Winfrey took her staff on an all-expenses paid trip to Hawaii, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

The box office loves kids.

A week after Jaden Smith smashed the box office with “The Karate Kid,” Disney's “Toy Story 3” is already dominating ticket sales on Fandango.com.

The threequel to 1995’s “Toy Story” represents 67 percent of the ticket sales on the online retailer, followed by the “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and moviegoers who still haven’t gotten enough of “Karate Kid," according to a statement from Fandango.

"Toy Story 3" opens this weekend along with "Jonah Hex," starring Megan Fox and Josh Brolin and "Cyrus" with Jonah Hill and John C. Reilly and Marisa Tomei.

Talk about high standards.

For Rihanna’s next album, Def Jam A&R exec Bu Thiam is expecting the Barbadian pop star to pull off a record of legendary proportions.

“I’m trying to push her to where every song will be a hit from 1 to 12. I’m talking about NO album fillers,” Thiam said in a blog post on Vibe.com. “Our bar for this album is Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller.’”

Kate Gosselin may be single and open to mingling - she told People in January that she wasn't "ruling out" finding someone new after her divorce - but that doesn't mean she's getting her own dating show.

A report in Life & Style suggests that Gosselin has been "working on a deal to do a new reality dating series on ABC," and could possibly end up as the next "Bachelorette."

It's not the first time rumors of Gosselin heading to ABC to find herself a man have emerged - “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” host Chris Harrison told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show that people have asked him about the possibility of Gosselin becoming the next "Bachelorette" as well.

First up, is TLC's Kate Gosselin shopping around for her own dating show? "Showbiz Tonight" is getting to the bottom of this new report and whether or not there is any truth to it, but I gotta ask, would a dating show featuring Kate be such a bad idea?

"Showbiz Tonight" will also be premiering a bombshell investigative report: Is Gaga the next Queen of Pop or just a provocative knock off of Madonna? They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but can you build a whole career on that premise?

Subtlety is not exactly Katy Perry's strong suit, as she evidenced when she told "Showbiz Tonight," "I'm the hugest Lady Gaga fan, but I'm also the hugest Jesus Christ fan!"

But with that statement, she may have put to rest all those rumors that she's in a nasty feud with Lady Gaga.

"Showbiz Tonight" was there in New York City's Times Square when Katy Perry, clad in a rubber dress, jumped off the stage after performing her new single "California Gurls," and of course we left no stone unturned in the interview.

The author of the biography “Cleopatra: A Life” may be hailing Angelina Jolie as the perfect choice to play the queen, but some folks aren’t so sure.

On African American blogs and message boards, people are speaking out against the casting of Jolie in a role they believe should go to an actress of color.

Essence.com recently featured a commentary titled, “Another White Actress to Play Cleopatra?” where the writer opined, “Honestly, I don't care how full Angelina Jolie's lips are, how many African children she adopts, or how bronzed her skin will become for the film, I firmly believe this role should have gone to a Black woman.”

John Goodman is looking good, and he knows it.

When the 57-year-old actor stopped by the “The Late Show with David Letterman” last night, he acknowledged what many in the industry have already noticed: Goodman has dropped some obvious weight.

The weight loss, he joked, is “kind of like letting the gas out of the balloons up on 77th street every Thanksgiving.” Goodman mused his all-time high was somewhere around 400 pounds.

On the way to choosing this season's top 11 dancers, we saw a lot of incredible technique on display in the auditions and in Las Vegas, and we ended up with a strong group competing for the title of "America's Favorite Dancer."

But as Wednesday night's first real performance show of "So You Think You Can Dance" revealed, many of them have a lot to learn about connecting with the audience as well as their "all-star" partners.

One after another, the dancers were told by the judges that their performance level needed to be improved, whether it was Alexie with her "too cute" version of a Tabitha and Napoleon routine (not to mention the fact that she was overshadowed by Twitch), Adechike's lack of chemistry with Kathryn, or Lauren paying more attention to the audience than her partner, Ade.
