You would think a celebrity like Russell Brand would want to keep the date of his impending marriage under wraps, but in fact, he has no problem revealing when he and Katy Perry plan on tying the knot.

"Sometime this year," he told "Showbiz Tonight's" Brooke Anderson during her interview with the English comedian. "Hopefully, Wednesdays."

Yes, you read that correctly - on a Wednesday, at some point in the future, the two will wed. Who said celebrities are secretive?

Every year, the Television Critics Association recognizes some of the best of the best on the small screen with its awards presentation.

On Thursday, the organization released its list of nominees for consideration to more than 200 of its members in the United States and Canada.

No surprises with Fox’s “Glee” getting a few nods, along with ABC’s “Modern Family” and AMC’s “Breaking Bad.” Check out the list of nominees below:

Even if you haven’t put a ring on it yet, all you have to do is take a look at recent news headlines to figure out that marriage ain’t easy. But imagine how difficult it would be if you and your spouse also have to deal with assassins out to kill you.

That's the plot line of the new romantic comedy “The Killers,” opening nationwide Friday, and lead actress Katherine Heigl calls it “a new twist” on nuptials and romance.

“I love the idea of exploring marriage in this big, broad, sort of farce way," Heigl told CNN. “I like the idea...of doing something that’s still romantic, still a comedy, but has a little bit of a twist on the formula.”

Ah, La Dolce Tweeta!

Italian model/actress Elisabetta Canalis - a.k.a. George Clooney's girlfriend - has found herself in hot water over claims that she insulted Jennifer Aniston on Twitter. The offending remark? That ragged rocker Iggy Pop looks like Jennifer Aniston.

An upset Canalis, however, said it was all a misunderstanding. "I JUST READ ON GOOGLE That I TWEETED something bad about J Aniston, let me be clear, it's a complete LIE, I would never do that!!" she tweeted on Tuesday.

Three major stars won't be on view at "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" premiere in London on July 1: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner have all opted out.

While the Daily Mail reports that neither Stewart nor Lautner gave an explanation as to why they can't attend what would certainly be a screamfest, Pattinson, at least, has a good excuse: The teen idol is busy filming "Water for Elephants," a circus-themed love story in which Pattinson makes Reese Witherspoon's heart go pitter-patter.

The Brit-born actor was spotted on location in L.A. yesterday, sharing a laugh and cigarettes with cast and crew.

ABC is looking toward the squared circle to host the upcoming game show "Downfall."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, pro wrestler Chris Jericho has been tapped to host the show, which premieres June 22 for a six-episode run.

Jericho, a former World Wrestling Entertainment champion, can currently be seen on "WWE Monday Night Raw."  His non-wrestling resume includes fronting the rock group Fozzy, writing the 2007 memoir "A Lion's Tale: Around the World in Spandex" and appearing in the recently released film "MacGruber."

A post on Michael Bay’s official website confirmed the already widely reported news that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will replace Megan Fox as Shia LaBeouf’s love interest in "Transformers 3."

Bay previously worked with the Victoria’s Secret model on an ad campaign that appeared in Harper’s Bazaar, according to the blog post.

And while the third installment of the franchise will be filmed in various locations - Chicago, Detroit, Washington and Cape Canaveral, as well as other countries - production has already began in Los Angeles, according to the post.

A big debate at the morning meeting today: There’s a new tape out of the disturbing 911 call made after Gary Coleman’s deadly accident, and we debated whether or not to put it on the show tonight. But it raises new questions about the “Diff’rent Strokes” star’s death, so…we're going with it.

Over to some happier news we are looking into: We’re making calls right now to check into whether or not Mariah Carey is pregnant. Why, you ask? Because Mimi’s hubby, Nick Cannon, isn’t denying reports that she’s expecting!

We’re also buzzing about this maybe-sorta mini-“Friends” reunion. There's lots of stuff out there today about Jennifer Aniston joining Courteney Cox in “Scream 4.” Monica! Rachel! Together again! “How you doin’?”

Rue McClanahan, the actress known  for her roles as the blowzy best friend Vivian on "Maude" and as the prowling Southern belle Blanche on "The Golden Girls," has died. She was 76.

Her manager, Barbara Lawrence, told CNN that she died at 1 a.m. Thursday at New York Presbyterian Hospital of a stroke. Her family was at her side.

In "The Bad Mothers Handbook," a 2007 BBC TV movie out on DVD on August 24, Robert Pattinson leaves his romantic alter ego behind and transforms himself into a bumbling geek.

Wearing shaggy bangs, Buddy Holly glasses, big sweaters, and constantly hunched shoulders, Pattinson plays Daniel Gale, the new student in town who befriends and eventually falls for his pregnant classmate, Charlie Cooper.
