The newly-minted “Dancing with the Stars” champ was in Istanbul over the weekend to support her race car driving boyfriend, Lewis Hamilton, in the Turkish Grand Prix.

Fans responding to a TVGuide.com poll think the formerly ailing rocker would make an ideal replacement for Simon Cowell on “American Idol.”

The site reports that 68 percent of the voters would like to see the Poison front man occupy the Brit’s judge’s chair now that Cowell is gone.

Following Gary Coleman’s death from a brain hemorrhage on May 28, “Avenue Q” writer Jeff Whitty was faced with a dilemma: Should he keep the vital character based on Coleman in that evening’s performance of the off-Broadway musical, or cut him altogether?

His decision? The show must go on! “From the very beginning,” Mr. Whitty told the New York Times, “when we wrote the show, he represented a certain spunkiness and attempting to overcome life’s disappointments.”

The question of bringing on a new character did come up, Whitty told the Times, acknowledging that audiences at the off-color puppet show might now find the “Avenue Q” Gary Coleman - portrayed as a former child star who works as the superintendent of a tenement and sings about how “It Sucks to Be Me” - just a wee bit offensive.

Tom Cruise gets down and dirty with Robert Pattinson in a hilarious new promo for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards.

Reprising his role as “Tropic Thunder’s” foul-mouthed media mogul Les Grossman, Cruise takes a meeting with Pattinson and tells the “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” star that the network is thrilled he’ll be appearing at the June 6 event.

“I’m thinking about cleaning myself up a little bit,” a flattered Pattinson tells Grossman. “Maybe get a suit, have a shave. Maybe wash my hair.” (All kidding aside, 24-year-old Pattinson has gone on the record many times about having filthy follicles.)

Here’s some news worthy of a "Gossip Girl" blast: Joanna Garcia – who starred in the CW’s “Privileged” and “Gossip Girl” after playing Cheyenne on "Reba" for years – is engaged to New York Yankee outfielder Nick Swisher, CNN confirmed.

The baseball player hasn’t been quiet about his relationship: The 29-year-old told Jimmy Fallon on his late-night talk show in September that Garcia is “amazing,” and was upfront with Sports Illustrated that same month that the two were dating, according to PEOPLE.

Swisher is certainly not the only Yankee player tied up with Hollywood. Derek Jeter is dating “Friday Night Lights” actress Minka Kelly, and Alex Rodriguez has been spotted with Cameron Diaz.

Garcia, 30, will be back on the small screen this fall in ABC’s “Better Together.”

The past few days have been rough for celebrity news. One day after “Diff’rent Strokes’" star Gary Coleman passed, another death made the headlines: Dennis Hopper died at the age of 74 at his home in Venice, California.

Twitter, clearly one of the top methods of choice for celebrities to offer their reactions nowadays, was once again filled with “R.I.P.” messages, this time for the “Easy Rider” actor.

“R.I.P. Dennis Hopper. Man, I’m getting tired of typing those three letters,” wrote actor/comedian Michael McKean. Tom Green chose to remember Hopper by tweeting a remark he made in an interview: “Somewhere in my strange career, someone has liked something.”

Miley Cyrus was quite vocal this weekend, and not just when she was singing at the May 29 Rock in Rio music festival in Portugal.

Wearing a corset-style bodysuit that would make Lady Gaga blush, the 17-year-old introduced her song “Full Circle” at the music fest with a touching dedication.

Cyrus told the audience the song is about two people who always come back to each other, "no matter what anyone says or the bad people that try to keep you apart. It's a personal story. Surprise surprise, it’s about a Jonas brother.”

It might have been a lonely Memorial Day weekend for Spencer Pratt - his other half, Heidi Montag, is taking a hiatus from their marriage.

A rep for Montag (who also represents Pratt) confirmed to CNN Friday that the reported split is real, but added that as of now, it's just a separation.

“As you can imagine, it is crazy right now. [Montag is] trying to lay low the next couple days,” the rep said. “What I can say is that it’s a separation for now, not divorce.”

The couple have been the butt of more jokes than usual as the latest season of "The Hills" focuses on Pratt's confusing and bizarre behavior.
