Note to aspiring stars: Don’t freak out Oprah if you would like to work for her.
A representative for Oprah’s OWN network confirmed to CNN that the show received a "suspicious" video which they forwarded to authorities.
“Oprah.com received a suspicious video submission for 'Your OWN Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star,' a new series premiering on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network in January 2011,” said a statement from the company. “OWN’s protocol and online safeguards rejected the video, and the proper authorities were notified.”
The rep from the network did not reveal whether local or federal authorities had been contacted.
AOL News reports that law enforcement sources said the video was of a man who appeared to be making threatening remarks while in possession of a Mac 10 machine gun.
According to the AOL report, when the man was interviewed by police he was determined not to be a threat. The man said he was an actor.
