Good comedy, among other things, takes a village, and the village behind Conan O’Brien is scheduled to take the stage at TBS’ Chicago comedy festival, “Just for Laughs.”
The one-hour, one-night-only performance will feature Andy Richter, Reggie Watts and a slew of O’Brien’s writers; “Team Coco presents Conan’s Writers Live” is the working title for the special.
The event is scheduled for June 17 at 7 p.m. CST at the Bank of America Theater but it will also be taped, so if you can’t go you’ll be able to watch it on TBS on June 27 at 10 p.m. EST.
The entire festival runs June 15 to 19, with comedians like Aziz Ansari, Jim Belushi and Patton Oswalt performing, plus Ellen DeGeneres and Cedric the Entertainer, who will be in the Windy City also taping their own TBS comedy specials during the festival. (For the record, TBS is owned by Turner Broadcasting, the same company that owns CNN.)
Tickets for “Team Coco presents Conan’s Writers Live” go on sale Friday, May 28 at 10 a.m. CST.
I will watch. I always thought Andy Ricther was (is) funny & so is Conan. They do not get enough credit
Whew, where to start? Night of the writers, why? Andy Richter, how AND why? Well, at least after this "special" speculation should end as to the reason for Conan's untimely departure from NBC.
