'Lost' finale gets Emmy Awards exception

If you haven't heard, "Lost" is coming to an end after six seasons this Sunday, May 23 at 9 p.m. E.T. It's been a trending topic on social networking sites for days and is looking to be one of the most-watched finales of all time. You probably know that it's being preceded by a special pre-show and being followed by a post-show where the producers will show alternate endings to the finale. And if you care about all that you probably want to know more...

Here's a few more tidbits for you:

The "Lost" finale has been given an exception from the TV academy's board of governors, which makes it eligible for Emmy Awards despite its 2.5 hour running time.

The show won an Emmy for Outstanding Drama in 2005. Since it's debut in 2004 it has also won several individual Emmy awards and been nominated for many more.

The finale will be simulcast around the globe.

In an effort to keep the illegal downloads to a minimum, ABC is being telecast simultaneously in Europe and will be available in 59 countries around the world within 48 hours of the show's U.S. broadcast.

Actress Lindsay Lohan will attend a court hearing Monday morning in Beverly Hills, California, where a judge will  set a date for her probation revocation hearing, her lawyer has confirmed to CNN.

An arrest warrant for Lohan issued Thursday morning was withdrawn after a representative for the actress-singer posted her $100,000 bond, a Los Angeles  sheriff's spokesman said.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel revoked Lohan's probation and issued a bench warrant for her arrest after she failed to appear at a hearing Thursday. FULL POST

Casting Chronicles: James Franco tries to land every role possible

James Franco, clearly vying for the hardest-working-man in show business title, has signed on to two new projects this week, on top of the news of his return to "General Hospital."

Franco is set to star in a "Hangover"-esque comedy picked up by Summit Entertainment called "Ricky Stanicky," a movie about three friends who've spent the majority of their lives blaming everything that happens on a fictional character named (obviously) Ricky Stanicky, and they end up having to hire an actor (Franco) when their wives demand to meet him. He’ll also play the scientist in the primate prequel, “Rise of the Apes."

Next we’ll be hearing about his starring role in “Human Centipede 2: Even more grossness.”

Mark Salling is California cool in GQ

Mark SallingIn this edition of “actors who look good in surfwear,” we turn our attention to "Glee’s" resident bad boy who occasionally shows off his softer side, Mark Salling, known to the Gleeks as Puck.

Salling’s Puck is “prime time cougar bait,” explained GQ magazine, the men’s publication that convinced the 27-year-old actor/singer to strip down to his board shorts. “Think Emilio Estevez in ‘The Breakfast Club,’ but with a lovely tenor.”

Surprisingly though, Salling said that since he shaved his character’s trademark Mohawk, he actually doesn’t get recognized that often, despite the show’s mega-popularity status.

Check out this slideshow for more photos of the breakout star.

TV Recap: Three weddings and Matt Damon on '30 Rock’

Editor's note: You know how it goes - if you hate spoilers, stop reading now.

Sadly, last night’s “30 Rock” season finale fell a bit flat. As a rule of thumb, sitcoms usually fall short when you take the characters out of their element, and this one definitely did with three weddings in three separate places.

But there were two highlights: Liz may finally have a chance at love and the possibility that we won't have to hear what might be the worst Boston accent in the history of accents next season.

Yep, Jack has ended the love triangle he's been caught in. Nancy, played by Julianne Moore, is sent packing back to Boston after Jack finds out Avery (Elizabeth Banks) is pregnant with his child. This leaves us wondering what kind of father Jack is going to be, and how drastically his character is going to have to change to be a dad. Let’s hope that Jack doesn’t go soft on us.

Shonda Rhimes responds to 'Grey's Anatomy' finale

Editor's note: You know how it goes - if you hate spoilers, stop reading now.

Shonda Rhimes knew what the reaction was going to be to the finale of her show, "Grey's Anatomy." On the "Grey's" writers blog she wrote, "You [all] are shouting, 'Shonda, what do you have to say for yourself? WHAT?'"

It was an intense two hours of television. One that left the audience shaken, angry and, if they were anything like, me, bawling. When the stoic Dr. Bailey cries, you know it's bad times at Seattle Grace.

In the first few minutes, shooter Gary Clark enters the hospital, looking for three people in particular. We've seen this depressed character before - the writers have been teasing this storyline for several episodes. He lost his wife to a surgery done by Richard Webber, and chief-of-surgery Dr. Derek Shepherd made the order to pull the plug. Little Grey, Lexie, did the awful deed.

'Captain America' to be filmed in London?

How’s this for irony: the forthcoming "Captain America" film won’t be shot in America.

Not exactly patriotic, but the comic book icon, who’s superhero costume is made up of the U.S. flag, will be shot overseas instead of in Los Angeles because it’s more economical. Marvel Studios begins shooting “Captain America: The First Avenger,” which stars Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson and Hugo Weaving in July in London, where the story is partially set.

But the studio, which was acquired by Walt Disney Co. last year, decided it was easier to do things this way because the story is set in Europe and will feature several scenes in London, but those tax incentives sure sweetened the deal.
