If you have to spend your weekend working, what better way to spend it than with actors on hit ABC and Disney shows. I dished the dirt all day long with more than 30 cast members of various television shows and movies.
It was a lot to digest, and since I love to write in bullet points I'll give you the cliff notes version:
Beth Ostrosky Stern (Howard Stern's wife) and Carson Kressley are judges on an upcoming show called "True Beauty," where they judge contestants' inner beauty while making them think it's all about their exterior. I know it sounds like "been there done that", but the hilarious on-screen banter between Ostrosky Stern and Kressley will no doubt keep viewers watching. On another note, I learned that Ostrosky was offered a spot on "Dancing with the Stars" but turned it down, "because I would have to be away from my husband and we have a hard time being apart as you know." Kressley, who was sitting right next to her, joked that Howard Stern was also proud of his work on the show!
Demi Lovato will of course star in the upcoming Disney Channel movie "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam" with her current boyfriend Joe Jonas and the remaining Jonas Brothers. So she talked about the flick, but at the end of our conversation she begged for more time to talk about something else. She wanted CNN to know that she's super passionate about her latest cause. "I'm just trying to make people aware of an organization I work with called PACER. We have a website called "Teensagainstbullying.org. There are kids that are dealing with bullying and that's a really serious issue to me."
As for the Jonas Brothers, do they spend each waking moment together? While promoting their flick "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam," I asked them the last time they were apart for an extended period. "There was an occasional time, but I think the longest time we have been away from each other is when Nick went on tour," said Joe. "But we were pretty much calling each other every other day. We are family when it comes down to it. Not only a band."
With two weeks left in season 10 of "Dancing with the Stars," I tried to get host Tom Bergeron to open up about who is confirmed for the next season. He claims he doesn't know who's up next, but did confirm that in a previous season they tried to get Cindy McCain (the wife of Sen. John McCain) to put on her dancing shoes but added it just didn't work out.
And what would any ABC press tour be without some actors from your "favorite show that's about to go off the air"? I spoke with Nestor Carbonell and Henry Ian Cusick of "LOST." And like everyone else, I had lots of questions about the few remaining episodes. They told me relatively little, but Nestor Carbonell, who plays Richard Alpert on the show, did say this: "I was thrilled with the script. It's very emotional... but the bigger themes like the element of love which has been at the heart of the show is what they will tap into." While Henry Ian Cusick, who plays Desmond David Hume said "You are going to be left with a resolution where the questions that you thought were important are no longer important."
How's that for a riddle? Are you ready for the end of "LOST?"
