SPOILER ALERT!!! Tonight's blog entry will reveal the contestant being sent home from "American Idol." Don't read any further if you don't want to know the results.

I always knew it was going to happen, and yet I still was unprepared.

Tim Urban has been sent off and I could reflect on what took voters so long, but instead I find myself actually questioning if Casey James should have left us.

Don't get me wrong, I think Casey is tremendously talented, but I have seen very little growth with him. Tim has grown, even though judging from where he came from there really was no place to go but up.

We have lift off on 'Idol Gives Back'

Here we go with "Idol's" annual feel good night of the year.

It's not going to feel so great for whoever gets sent home and I, for one, am surprised that the powers that be decided to go ahead and have an elimination. Just feels like it might be a bit of a downer in the midst of all of the charitable feel goodness.

The show just started and Ryan Seacrest is subdued in introducing President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama's remarks.

Hilarious to hear the president call the contestants his "dawgs" and have Mrs. Obama warn Simon to be nice.

And we are off!

Rihanna visits ER for injured rib

Rihanna made a brief stop at a Swiss emergency room to get an injured rib checked by a doctor Monday night, the singer's publicist said.

"She had an injured rib and went to have it looked at to be sure it was nothing serious, and it wasn't," Amanda Silverman told CNN. "All is OK and the tour is going great."

The publicist did not say if the injury was suffered during a show. Rihanna performed in Zurich's Hallenstadion arena Monday evening.

The 22-year-old hip hop star is in the middle of the European leg of her "Last Girl on Earth" tour. The injury didn't stop her from performing Tuesday night in Lyon, France.

'Real Housewives' star to host cosmetic fashion show

Don’t expect to see familiar faces on Romona Singer’s catwalk this summer. In fact, there’s a chance some of the women modeling at the “Real Housewives of NYC” star’s show will be unrecognizable, even to friends and family. This will be the nation’s first cosmetic fashion show.

According to a press release, the audience can expect to see “the real life swans” modeling the garments. The show will feature people who have recently undergone cosmetic surgery – from breast augmentations to rhinoplasty and liposuction - “boldly flaunting their new bodies.”

Singer will debut her jewelry line of pendants, earrings, bracelets and rings at the event, which will take place in Long Island, New York, on April 22.

Kelly Clarkson concert banned in Jakarta

An Indonesian Islamic organization is saying an upcoming concert by Kelly Clarkson in Jakarta is banned under Islamic law because it is being sponsored by a tobacco company, according to a report Wednesday in the Jakarta Globe.

Muhammadiyah, the second largest Islamic organization in the world’s most populous Muslim country, has previously declared all smoking forbidden under Islam, according to the Globe report.

The head of the organization’s fatwa, or religious edict, department, Yanuar Ilyas, told the Globe that the no-smoking fatwa applied to Clarkson’s concert. FULL POST

You do not want to make the Gleeks mad!

Fans of “American Idol” have long known that the show’s penchant for running long means you need to pad your digital video recorder with a few extra minutes to ensure you catch the whole show.

But Tuesday night’s “Idol” running long by three minutes also meant that “Glee” was late. Those who programmed their recorders to catch all the action of the kids from McKinley High School were sadly disappointed.

'Saturday Night Live' – really live!

This past weekend, I was lucky enough to get tickets to see "Saturday Night Live" –- in person. I was ecstatic because I started watching the show back in junior high (Bill Clinton was running for his first term as president at the time) and I have always been a huge fan.

When I arrived at the 30 Rock building, I was quickly led up the elevators and out into the studio hallway that is wallpapered with matted, framed shots capturing moments from throughout SNL's 35-year history. There are also old costumes encased in glass.

Due to sparse seating capacity - along with the fact that only 20 episodes are produced per season - tickets to SNL have always been hard to come by. I was in the balcony, directly across from the stage where the musical guests perform and basically had a bird’s eye perspective of Studio 8H. FULL POST
