'Idol' to lose two contestants Wednesday night

Two people are going home tonight on “American Idol” and I could honestly double that number and be ok.

Elvis night was not a blockbuster one and after the judges used their save for “Big Mike” Lynche last week it now means curtains for two contestants.

Watch a discussion about Tuesday night’s performances:

I think Andrew Garcia is a given to be kicked off. As for the second to go, I’m torn between Katie Stevens (who I love) and “Big Mike.”

Katie has been in the bottom three a few times and her fan base may not be strong enough to keep her on and "Big Mike" has a great voice but delivered a sleepy performance Tuesday night that might not have resonated with viewers.

Tuesday night's mentor Adam Lambert is set to perform.

@mrniceguyu – hate to even think what your talking about here "Adam Lambert open my ears and eyes to a whole lot of things. Thank you Adam." Scary, just plain scary!

@Ash – Emo cutting songs? WTH you talkin' about Willis? Ya'll can blather on about AI... the majority of us will watch something with more substance... like How I Met Your Mother ;-)

One more thing, I have more talent in my colon than Adam Lambert has in his entire body. He screeches people; he does not have a good singing voice. Support him if you believe he does. Even Tiny Tim had a following. Lambert has charisma but that's it – not much else.

I've got a new concept for the show... Wednesdays anyway. Wednesdays are a joke. There's too much blather. Let's see if we can change it up and increase viewership and participation.

I have to say that Andrew was very promising..... Straight Up was amazing..... it was all down hill from there..... not even American Idol wants to produce a one-hit-wonder!

Katie or Siobhan? Katie has struggled week to week. Siobhan has been slipping.

I think Andrew and Kate will leave tonight. I thought singing Elvis's songs are hard as you can't sing like the King. Adam Lambert did a great job as mentor and can't wait to heard him sing tonight.

American Idol died last season after Adam Lambert didn't win. Adam Lambert shut American Idol down. The show sucks now. It's a boring show. No one has the charisma or talent ADAM has. Adam stole my heart. I don't even like rock music or white guys, but Adam Lambert open my ears and eyes to a whole lot of things. Thank you Adam.

Adrian – apparently YOU care since you like to post your negativity all over the place – like your opinion counts for anything ... so just shut up already !

I think Tim and Aaron should go but since the tweens seem to rule the vote it will probably be Andrew and Mike

I just hope those tweeny-boppers keep Crystal and Lee to the end ;)

I would be suprised if Katie got kicked off. I personally think she is kinda cute and she is a good singer. I am not a big Elvis fan either. GO KATIE!!!

This show always starts off so great with the auditions and ends so poorly with skewed opinions from the judges, corny Ford commercials, and more recently the ridiculous and unnecessary "save". America has already given it's opinion of Mike - he needs to go ASAP.

Yes, Adrian, people care. We don't whine about your emo-cutting songs on the radio, so lay off the working girl's guilty pleasure just because you don't like skipping it in your TiVo Recommendations list.

I'm not the biggest Big Mike fan, but I'd be really surprised to see him go this week. Last week I thought was the best overall night of the season. Big Mike fans may have thought he was safe and drifted their voting power to the weaker contestants who really had (comparatively) exceptional nights. I think mostly mediocre performances last night, his fans will give him a course-correcting boost to make sure he's not eliminated.

Honestly does anyone really care? That's the problem with all the media hyperbole surrounding these shows... they can't die quietly with a simple blurb or just fall off the radar. All of the media outlets have their specialized coverage and bloggers whipping every little hiccup into a frenzy. Die already.
