CNN received the following statement from Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, regarding the passing of Caresse Henry.
Caresse Henry, 44, of Laguna Beach, California died suddenly on March 31st in Irvine, California. Despite rumors to the contrary, the cause of death has not been determined and is currently under investigation. Born in Los Angeles, Ms. Henry managed Madonna’s career for 10 years. She went on to briefly manage Ricky Martin, Jessica Simpson, Joss Stone, Paula Abdul and Andrew Dice Clay. Henry is survived by her two children, Honour Kristen Norman and Ava Caresse Hinojosa who both reside in Los Angeles. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Yvette and Steve Dobbie of Laguna Beach, brother Patrick Henry, Jr. of San Diego, mother Angelica Henry of Newport Beach and father Patrick Henry, Sr. of Wexford, Ireland. Services will be held on Friday, April 9th at ll:00 am at St. Paul’s Church in Westwood, California. “The family has requested that their privacy be respected during this difficult time,” stated Liz Rosenberg, longtime friend and spokeperson for the family.
I love how people take the time to comment on a story that means nothing to them..Close the tab and move on, obviously you feel the need to comment for whatever reason...And for people who say who cares, why is she news..When you die, maybe your family should say the same. You people aren't famous, so why should we care or anybody put an obituary in the paper to remember your life. People are disgusting sometimes and so clearly have no lives. Anyone who has anything negative to say about the death of anyone has some serious bad karma coming their way..I'm glad I don't know any of you.
Why are people so cruel? Can they not see the the beautiful lady inside?
Never knew this lady however this bubbly plump lady seems to have touched something deep inside me, may your god bless and herald your coming on the other side mysterious lady
Who can think of the 80's without thinking of Captain Lou Albano? This news is devastating! From the beginning, he helped Madonna with her first hit "O Mickey Your So Fine" and it was all uphill from there!
Goodbye Captain Lou, and RIP. Good to see that you finally shaved.
Caresse, you were a young and beautiful girl in highschool that shined on so many and you grew into an exceptional women, mother and friend. Your success and accomplishments in your career brightened so many lives. You touched the hearts of so many people and put smiles on alot of faces. You were a very special lady and you will never be forgotten. I love you Caresse Henry. May God take you under his wing forever and Bless your two daughters and your family. xo:)
who cares about madonna?her career is in the toilet. she better keep writing books for kids. maybe she should write songs for lady gaga now lol .whatever happens she needs to go back to london to live since she likes to bad mouth our country...bye bye
Can a ni@@a get a table dance?!
First, my condolences to the family and friends. Second, shame on all of you with the negative commentary. I do sincerely hope nobody ever treats you the way you treat others. If you are not interested in certain news stories, simply do us all a favor and not read/comment on them. It is a free country and CNN can post any story they feel is important. If you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing. This is a human being who died, not an animal. Have some respect. My heart goes out to this family. May she rest in peace.
Ummmmm, SO WHAT! Who gives a crap.
44 year old people generally dont die from natural causes. Just like with all the movie star; there seems to be a lot of 30 and 40 yrs olds mysterious dying in LA?
Is it is the smog? I would think there has to be some other reason than "natural" causes.
You're right 44 y.o is quite young to die. However my dad died when he was only 26 (shot by a so called minister while my dad was trying to get a shotgun from the minister who was threatening to kill him cause my dad wouldn't marry his pregnant daughter). And the preacher went free...the same day after admitting to killing my dad.. It didn't make CNN news (until now) but there was a teeny tiny print about it in the local newspaper. Did he have a great impact on others lives? Yes he did. Did he have family? Yes he did. Was he famous? No he wasn't. Did many people care? No they did not ......Wait now, don't tell me none of you heard about this? Anyway RIP whomever you are.
in the short time that i knew her...caresse was a very generous and kind woman. she was a shining beautiful woman. this news continues to break my heart. thank you caresse for believing in me and my music. thank you for being my friend. you are in my prayers !!
I can't believe all this rubbish being written. If you knew, or knew of thelady, then it's news. If not, then brush over it and read other news items that do interest you. Why all these blogs, that just lead to petty arguments that seem to just grow and grow in their levels of aggression. Is it any wonder you Americans go into schools and shoot people, or go to war at "the drop of a hat", when you get so aggressive over someone's untimely death ? Good grief, at least show a little respect for the dead !
There are a lot of disgusting comments on here. So sad so many take this as an opportunity to slam Madonna. These people will get their just desserts in the end.
I am so sorry for the loss of Caresse. She seemed like a wonderful lady and how great she managed Madonna through some of Madonna's best eras( Ray Of Light and Music).
Rest in Peace! Caresse will be remembered by millions of Madonna fans everywhere.
this is stupid thousands of people die every day why should we care about this chic she never did any good for us! who cared about some lady who died who JUST SO HAPPENED to know some one famous.
To all of you making negative and rude comments about this woman's passing not being newsworthy, please note this is a BLOG. Don't read, don't comment and go away if this is not of interest to you. And the most glaring observation here is, YOU are the idiot if you clicked on the link that led you here.
May Ms. Henry rest in peace and that the Good Lord bring healing and comfort to those who loved her and knew her best.
I am concerned for the future of this country for many reasons, however when I see idiotic comments regarding the placement of this news on CNN, I know it might be too late. Listen up: This is a blog within CNN. Entertainment blog at that. It wasn't front page news. It was a link on the front page (now under Entertainment). If you want a more serious flavor of news, check out the US or WORLD categories. Most are not blog pieces.
What also is totally ridiculous is the smugness of these idiots who decide that if it isn't news they themselves care about, then none of the rest of us should care either. Get over yourselves!
I regret this individual passed on but, this is news? why?
She blasted the top of her head off and painted the ceiling!
Wonder if she left the wondows open so flies could lay maggots in the gray matter.
C'mon sing along to Elton John's "Cirlce of Life"
Caresse might have been a great business woman and is loved but being new to the article, 44 years old? More like 55. The lines on her neck and the heaviness of her face show age and someone who was unhealthy. When i was 44, I looked 30 easily because I took care of myself. Maybe it was a heart atttack?
Wow! all these bitter small-minded comments......for God's sake people, someone died who was someone's mother, sister, child, etc....grow up and show you have something called a heart.
Ok, so everyone is upset that this is not news. I'll throw you some red meat which will surely set off the Libtard Alert Network, keyword 'Sarah Palin.' They are always looking to spew their intolerant, hateful venom.
If you feed them, they will come...
Well said Bree. I think your comments sum it up best.
She changed peoples careers for the better and made THEM famous they didnt become famous on ther own. Whether Ms Henry was famous or not she like evryone is important and this news should be made know so she may be memorilazed!
She doesn't look a thing like Michael
Moore, where on earth did that come from? I think she's quitebeautiful. it's not important either way. People have lost a loved one here. A little respect is not uncalled for.
@whyucare: look up ron fair in wikipedia and see his credits. he's mentored big acts including christina aguilera and the black eyed peas, and worked on a song for lady gaga.
my condolences to the family and friends of caresse henry – never easy to lose a loved one.
and people, this is a public forum. no one person has the exact same opinion as another. freedom of speech – gotta love it!
Taylor, I'm very sorry for your loss. My condolences to your family. Some of the heartless people posting here should be ashamed of themselves.
On the bright side, if this is what CNN is focusing on as a news story, that means it must be a slow news day. And a slow news day means that more important, necessary, and well known people are not or have not died. So hurray!
I agree. Is this news because she's rich, white, and associated with a powerful woman? Stories like these make the invisible class line visible. How many other people died, suicide or not, on that day? Tragic, yes, but worthy of CNN coverage? Debatable, at the very most.
LOL She died because of obama care! It's enuff to kill anyone.
Lets face it you have a commie for a president and a first lady ( and thats a loose translation for the term at best) that hates America. He lied to the public to get into office. Used illegal methods to ram cram the health care bill ( which is why 14 states minimum are taking this to court).
Pity that they even let him back into this country after his little nite flight to afghan. Amazing that friendly fire didn't occur. Why do we have to wait for 2012 to get this jerk outta the white house. Impeach him now.. show him what real change is.
Sorry I don't hate, I just enjoy Madonna Nude..
For all those who don't believe this story is newsworthy...If the story is so low relative to world and national importance, you shouldn't be wasting time commenting on it! Utter hypocrisy
This woman was linked to an iconic ledgend in the music business. She may have served behind the scenes, but she was a part of Madonna's success. She was also linked to other huge music stars and was young and had a family.
Shut up and go somewhere else if you want to be a hater. Talk about a waste of human flesh!
My condolences to the family of this young woman.
People – STOP HATING!
The poor woman's life ended suddently at 44!
She managed several careers of famous people- this is news, sorry! if you have a problem with it move on, get a life, don't spread your negativity; keep your miserable and bitterness to yourselves!
As a former journalist I can guarantee you that this story merits inclusion into CNN's Entertainment section. She was a major force in a music Icon's career who died at just 44 of an apparent suicide...That is newsworthy. As far as those who are spouting out such venom and hate, remember these words: "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
People are not bashing this person per se, they are just commenting that her death is not front page newsworthy as there are other coverages in this world far more newsworthy. They have their comments and views and whether you l like them or not it is a free country to post any comments you wish. Im sorry for her family but I agree, not newsworthy to me and to those who disagree that s just tough..... keep in mind its not about her its about cnn being depeleted of new worthy stories to post hers. If it was suicide as it implies then I have no sympathy as she was selfish enough to leave her children behind to grieve her.
ron fair: now we understand why modonna didn't pick you to make a hit on her record deal. the only thing you hit is the keyboard as i can see from here. Leave the woman alone, she is dead now, so leave her alone. There always gonna have haters like you talking about people because you don't have a dame thing to say. I feel sorry you, you so ignorant and selfish. Karma is b...h, be careful what you say about people you don't even know.
Wow, some people are stupid. You don't get why this is mentioned as news? Well, it's celebrity news, which is an aspect of news and pretty high-profile at that. And why is this person involved in the management side being mentioned when others are not? Because she's connected to Madonna, who's not just a star, but a superstar, for a long time. Just like how everything involving Michael Jackson was covered, it's the same stratus. It's pretty easy to figure out if you're not dim-witted.
JT...to answer your question...Yes, I knew Caresse. We mostly kept in touch by email and Facebook. It's not just me that's sad about it. I also had to break the news to a mutual friend that used to work for Madonna's record label, WBR. You can easily find me on Facebook and Twitter. The website is under construction but I have owned the oldest Madonna fan domain (madonnaweb.com) for almost 14 years. The website and my friendship with people that worked with Madonna actually led me to meeting Caresse.
God Bless Her.
And for the ones left behind here find comfort in knowing that it really does not matter what the news writes about your death.
It is what just one that loves you will say about you when you move on.
Has anyone ever had a mother, daughter, sister or aunt? Are any of them dead? Has anyone out there blogging lost ANYONE? If you haven't felt the pain of death then shut your mouth. Has anyone lost anybody in war?...any war? I've lost six friends. I've lost a parent and an aunt. Death is here to stay and we deal with it in very different ways. Don't trash the memory of others, because in return you want to be remembered when you die. Whether she was famous or not, is not the questions. Someone died and CNN published it. That is their job to print news. Death should not be taken lightly.
RIP .. on a side note, true journalism has died. Are interns in charge of the news desk?
Freddy De Mann her first long time manager, then Guy Osery were the two who carved out the marketing of Madonna!
Don, done and done, I will be dead by the time this is posted
Oh sad. but i am really more interested in madonna's pool boy
or driver or personal trainer. If they die, That's news.
I really hope, except for the friends and family of the dearly departed that have posted here, that the rest of ya'll would please take a moment to find your names on each post, reflect back on your comments, and then....GET A F******** LIFE! Are you all that bored or stupid or contemptuous? Why not get your lazy fat A**** from behind a computer and actually do something with your lives! My God, If this is all ya'll have to do all day, please save the world some trouble...shoot yourselves now.
Well at least you can be secure that everyone will notice when you die. In fact, you are so negative and cold there will probably be dancing in the streets!
Over 150,000 die every day. Next story please.
Condolences to the family. This is the news the world wants. I never blog, but find the comments interesting. This woman who managed madonna for 10 years really must have known the business. You people act like a bunch of cats.
what does this have to do with Sarah Palin?
I read my local obituary page today...hmm, didn't see their names on CNN. How is this national news?
People while she never had so much influence on Madonna The Almighty Queen of Rock. All I Know the reason why she was a Former Manager of Madonna is because during the Re-Invention World Tour 2004. She had an affair with A Bodyguard while being Married to her Ex-Husband. Madonna talked to her rabbi and they agreed she had to be fired. As Adultery is against Kabballah's virtues. Which I follow. But that is why I Lost all faith in her. If Madonna had to let her go Then it was for the best. Guy oseary forever.
It looks like the OC Register says the Orange County Coroner said she blasted the top of her head off with a single gunshot, and that story has been posted for a while. Way to keep up on things CNN!
Yuck, best thing for her really.
In unimportant news, a young black boy died in Detroit, not that you care.
ron fair, you're the "chairMEN" of Geffen Records?
You're downright hilarious. It's obvious you're a pinheaded spelling impaired ditch digger from outer Podunk WI.
Get a life, you weasel.
I don't know this woman. All I know is that when ANY living, breathing heartbeat leaves this world it leaves a space which nobody can ever fill.
We are all precious - it doesn't matter what our earthly job or who we may represent. I sincerely feel for this woman's family - especially when I read some of these comments.
Folks - life is way to short to exhibit this kind of vitriolic behavior. Love the departed for all they have done, all they tried to do and all they wanted to do. Not one of us can ask for anything more.
WOW!! Gosh for all of you that are so offended that an entertainment manager's death would be on CNN's entertainment section your life must be so devoid of substance. God forbid this woman get mentioned since she died so young and apparently tragically. Did you all have to work so hard to be jerks or were you just born with the gift of being hateful and tacky? Just wondering because the venom you spew is frankly astonishing. Who cares that its on here? If you aren't interested keep your comments to yourself and move on! Obviously by the comments her family, friends and associates made she was well known in the business and obviously people care so let it go already!!! My God!!!
I agree with Schnauzer. May Ms. Henry RIP.
TO chris April 2nd, 2010 2:35 pm ET
how is this news and whocares. she is one of many who will die on 4/2/2010....put everyone else's name on cnn who dies
She managed some of the biggest acts in the ENTERTAINMENT business, this is the ENTERTAINMENT section of CNN....duhhhhhhhh!.....may she RIP
I feel Caresse was in pain her whole life – even though she had this fabulous career, she didn't feel worthy of it even though she was. I do feel she is at peace now but her life here was filled with turbulence even though she had the ability to be very calming and she had a lot more potential than she realized. I feel she loved butterflies and that she likened her life to always evolving and changing, and she did that, but it wasn't enough, she was her own toughest critic and did not give herself the self love that she deserved. I do feel she will find peace on the Other Side. xoxo
Caresse Henry was an amazing woman! I have wonderful and happy memories of her!! So SO SO sad to hear this news
It is obviously a slow news day when this makes CCN's news.
If she was a stay at home Mom or a clerk in the nearby mall, no one would even know about their passing. Madonna was the famous person, not her.
Saying that, it is very sad that a young woman passed away at 44. I feel sorry for the family who is mourning her death.
Caresse was a loving and beautiful person. She will be missed by all who knew her.
My love and prayers to her family...
Caresse will be missed by many, including myself. Not only did she have a heart of gold in an industry full of many heartless people, but she was a leader, a creative thinker, a shrewd business woman, and a "girl's girl" who always had time for her friends and colleagues, even under the intense pressure that comes with managing a superstar. She worked her way up from being Madonna's assistant to being her manager, and they also became the best of friends. When they split up, people were shocked, because noone couldn imagine one without the other. For many women in the industry, Caresse was a role model. To her friends, she was someone who could be counted on no matter what, who always had your back and who often gave incredible advice that would help you in ways you never dreamed of. She was an incredible marketer and was the one who thought to put Madonna's children's book in the GAP stores (putting anything not branded "GAP" was something they had never done before), was the one who reinvented Madonna's image again and again, and the one who made the huge touring deal for Madonna before those types of deals were ever being made. Her grace and class was unparalleled. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. May she rest in peace and may her daughters know how very much they were loved. (For those who wonder why this is news, or aren't interested, no need to comment at all, just move on.)
EVERY LIFE is news worthy and the PEOPLE BEHIND the scenes of many great things, are not recognizable, but ESSENTIAL to the successfulness of those you think are newsworthy. The hardwork behind the "faces in the news" is why they make the news. The brains behind so much technology and modern medicine are not "known" but are the heroes of the world. HOW VERY SAD that those of you above that question her newsworthiness are so empty and coldhearted. :(
What is wrong with people? I can't believe someone would trash this person. No, I didn't know her either, but I wouldn't start slamming her.
You need counseling.
I always find the comment "I have no idea who this person is – how is this newsworthy?" so strange. There are SO many different interests out there – sports, politics, entertainment, etc. and there are well known people within all of them. Suggesting that we all must know EVERY name of every person who has contributed within each of those areas is ridiculous.
I, personally, know very little about the world of sports, so someone who would be considered a very well known athlete (or agent/manager – in keeping with this story) might be someone I've never heard of before. I still recognize the fact that there are plenty of people who DO know who they are and recognize the loss to their particular industry.....
One of the most over-used words is "hater." Whenever someone disagrees with you they become a "hater." They are not a hater, they just disagree.
Wow, how hateful people can be behind a keyboard....
The ignorance of some people here who decided to spill their awful bitter venom is too much to stand. I bet these people are in some remote US area, ALONE. With absolutely nothing else better to do, they come to blogs and vomit their hatred ill persona. That is a MAJOR reason why the world look at us Americans as arrogant SOB's. But fear not. Not all of us are so bitter with our own lives. All HATERS here should go for a walk and try to be a better person. Go to a movie, make friends, loose some weight, BE HAPPY! The end for you all is both sad and well deserved.
44 years is too young to be gone, and I hope it is nothing sinister about her death. Although, that's the way life is-when it is time to go it is time to go.
Madonna.....Madonna......Madonna.....isnt that the name of the purple dinosaur that dances around for kids on PBS? ....... or is that CBS?
I am disgusted at some of the comments on this page, how would you feel if this were your mother? This is a Blog for starters, hence the blogger can write about anything he/she wishes, if you don't like the content and feel there is more newsworthy things to talk about then start your own blog. I don't care if she was a teacher, mailman, a soldier in Iraq, or a trash collector, everyone deserves respect and apparently she has touched many lives in her career regardless of what you "haters" think of who she represented. My regards go out to her family and friends that are left here mourning the loss of a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and coworker.
ALL of you must care about this story long enough to read and constantly post.....god bless her family
I'm surprised she didn't die while still a Madonna employee. Working for a b***h like Madaonna would kill anyone!
Yahoo is full of it. They will retract. she was shot in the stomache.
Never written on one of these before, but was compelled after reading Jay's comments. GET A LIFE GUY.
Condolences to the family and friends that have lost their loved one.
Mean People Suck and Happy Easter
Who is this Bill Pardue Jr. person? Is he a personal friend of this woman? If he is that's fine but if he is not this guy need to seek help.
Jay, the love affair CNN, MSNBC, and almost every other media outlet had with Obama was extremely bias and unprofessional. Professional Journalism died a long time ago. We are all induced to interpret their opinions as fact and look at the pretty ponies.
Jay, Most people are to stupid or self absorbed to understand the complexities of the world we live in. Your opinion is a reflection of that. This story has legs like you could not imagine which include; murder, drug addiction, and a wonderful talent who's life was cut short. She was well connected in the industry and touched many peoples lives.
JAY, this is the entertainment section. That is why the story is here. She was known in the industry. SO AM I DUMB-ASS.
yahoo news reports that it was a self-inflicted
gunshot wound to the head.
Right. You're a family friend who hasn't yet understand that your friend's is surely sad for you, but national news. Please go away and grieve elsewhere, not on the comment section of a news site. I understand that you won't disclose your real name, but trust me, your grief has gotten the better of you and you no longer sound remotely rational.
ron fair, don't hate, it's obvious you care, otherwise you would not be making comments, duh!!!!
ron gair, don't hate, it's obvious you care, otherwise you would not be making comments, duh!!!!
Jay Vravos shot up, I'm a family friend so you all be quite and let her be....
@unk – You wrote, "People who have never work for her or know her, should not comment at all......"
Are you for real? People shouldn't comment on CNN unless they have firsthand knowledge of the subject.
I"m sorry you have a loss. Perhaps you should deal with your grief elsewhere than the Internet. But that's your decision. My decision is to tell you as a professional that the coverage given this woman's death is another blot on CNN.com's poor editorial judgment.
We're discussing what made news here, not your friend or relative. Frankly anyone who worked or was involved with this person is tremendously biased and really shouldn't be participating in a decision about whether news coverage of her death is balanced.
I think the issue is why the death of other marketers and executives are not covered at this level.
I'm sure those who knew or cared for this woman are grieving, and I'm sorry for your loss. A few thoughts:
a) I can't speak for others, but I'm reading this because I scan CNN.com's front page expecting news of national or even global importance. I think the editors who bumped the story higher made a terrible call because this is not a *national* story.
b) It's not a holiday for most of the country or world. When you preface your remarks talking about a religion that much of the country or world does not follow, those who don't share your belief dismiss you. For Christians celebrating Good Friday, do you also demand the same courtesy during Muslim or Buddhist holidays? Why not? And if not, why should people who don't share your faith treat today differently?
c) For those who keep posting that dissenters shouldn't post because family or friends might be offended, I think many people are simply voicing their displeasure to CNN that the death of an entertainment executive doesn't warrant front page treatment. I'll stand by that statement to anyone.
CNN.com is not a place for the grieving to have an online wake so the argument that they may be offended is silly.
And while this news site continues to accept comments and feedback, I'll state that the story of this woman's death may have merited a brief mention in some entertainment section, but it's not front page news. And unless Madonna is somehow implicated in her death, PR statements from Madonna about this relatively unknown person's death are even less of a story.
Somtimes the people who run the business end of things, are more interesting and smarter than the celebrities whom they help earn a living.
CNN and these posters have no clue. Keep her family in your prayers and lets find out who did this.
billy, the only dumb thing would be you being selfish and cold hearted but we have to excuse you, you have no education. People who have never work for her or know her, should not comment at all......
CNN is no longer news worthy.
I met Careese in 2004 during Madonna's Re-Invention tour in Las Vegas. She was so light and full of energy. She will be missed!
@ Tom – excuse me, but your fear is showing..... just a heads up.
Once Elton John's stage structure fell and now this.We can rest in peace for the weekend.:-)
This story will become huge once the media finds out the truth about her death. SHE WAS shot in the stomache. That is not consistent with someone trying to commit suicide. She was not the type who would do this. She had problems but realized she still had a boatload of potential.
Good Gawd! Some of you folks are absolutely heartless – much like TV, if you have a problem with the content, MOVE ON!! Change the channel!! And you're just as guilty by clicking on the link as CNN is a posting the article.
44 is too young to die. Sad.
so, what are the 'rumors'?
IT IS SAD THAT SHE HAD TO GO THAT WAY. FOR THE PEOPLE LIKE CHRIS AND OTHERS WHO COMMENTED: FYI, SHE WAS A GIVING PERSON, I HAVE WORKED FOR HER AND SHE WAS A GOOD HEARTED PERSON. IF YOU NEEDED HELP SHE WAS THERE FOR YOU, YOU NEEDED MONEY SHE WAS THERE FOR YOU. SHE WAS NO MADONNA, BUT SHE WORKED HARD TO KEEP HER LIFE AND HER KIDS STRAIGHT. WHOEVER MADE NEGATIVE COMMENTS TO HER, LOOK AT YOURSELF BEFORE YOU JUDGE OTHERS. CARESSE HENRY WAS A WONDERFUL PERSON. MANY PEOPLE TOOK ADVANTAGE OF HER AND USED HER, SO TOP HATING ON HER AND LET HER GO IN PEACE.......
People, if you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all. She was someone's mother, aunt, sister and daughter. They loved her and they cared about her just as we do our own. If you can't be respectful, please don't comment at all.
To all her family and friends, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. May you all find comfort and strength through one another. God bless.
My heartfelt condolences to your family and friends. How lucky she was to have left such a memorable mark. How lucky you were to have known her.
I blame thins on gw bush. cnn and I hate bush. dont worry madonna obama will save you and your career....wait you are not black...no he wont.
I would have guessed she was the redhead since her dad is Irish, but I'll take ur word for it that she is the dark haired beauty in this photo. I'll remember her family in prayer; I know what it's like to lose someone to suicide. Whether you agree with CNN or not, it's in very poor taste to post ugly comments that her loved ones might read.
Such sad new.. her poor kids.
very sad. very young
You are reading the entertainment section of CNN.com and you are unsure why a huge behind the scenes Hollywood player's death warrants mentioning? Really?
Is this who Wendy Malick portrayed in the movie about Madonna?
I'm sorry she's dead but why is this on CNN? I have no idea who this woman is or why this warrants front page CNN coverage.
this has got to be the dumbest story today....
Sad. I worked for Caresse for a few years and talked to her every day. She really was pretty great. You people who never met her really ought to keep quiet.
Come on Bill , snap out of it, life goes on, you know?
Other media outlets say suicide. Again i say "Who?"
Chris, You are such a charmer.
After extensive research, seems Caresse is the brunette.
Caresse was an icon. Her marketing and management skills helped re-invent Madonna. Anyone who thinks this story isn't news should check their pulse.
I didn't know of this woman but I'm incredibly sorry for those who are suffering from her loss right now. She sounds like she was a good person.
And for those of you are making negative comments.. I really don't know what kind of human being you have to be to get on here and make these kind of comments in the midst of all of these other people who are obviously mourning her loss. I mean, really. How cold you must have to be.
It"s amazing what an under belly society has when they are in the privacy of their homes.
Hmm I still like Madonna nude...
She's the brunette.
My Question to you Vijay is...then why are you reading this article? she was a powerful person in the music world...move on don't waste our time. Karma to negitive people.
Madonna treated this woman as poorly as Jay Leno treated his manager Helen who made him a star & fought tooth & nail to get him THE TONIGHT SHOW. A pox on both their houses!
So sorry to the family and friends for your loss. On this holy week, of all times. Peace and God's gracious love and mercy to you all.
CNN should not waste readers time by putting such news on front page.
I am sure there are more heroic individuals who did more for this country that deserve front page attention.
Please, its common sense to me to not post such news on frontpage. Why doesnt CNN get it?
Taylor – Don't let any negative comments here get to you. Carrese was a HUGE inspiration to me as I work in the music business. She accomplished so much in her career and managed a #1 recording artist. She helped re-invent Madonna altogether. Carrese had a big impact on the music business and her legacy will live on for many generations – anyone in the music business knows this. My thoughts are with you and your family. Stay strong.
Madonna certainly has talent. She is an icon.
Very sad news. She did a wonderful job as Madonna's manager and was always nice to fans. I don't know what is wrong with people who comment that this doesn't matter...clearly there is something wrong with you!
Condolences to her family and friends. I know long time M fans are very upset at her passing..
Caresse was the MAIN POWER and STRONG BRAINS behind MADONNA's success.
Trust me...It wasn't Madonna voice that got her anywhere.
Marketing and Management is what made Madonna a success
and that is the quite and smart Caresse Henry!
Everyone have some class and be respectful.
It would be nice if CNN had identified which lady in the picture is Ms. Henry.
I think everyone agrees that her family is heartbroken and feels the loss. We all have or will deal with the same grief in our lifetime. Now how is it that just because this person managed a few superstars makes the headlines but you don't hardly hear anything when one of our military personner, Man or woman, Air Force, Navy, Marine, or Army don't get this much attention when they are killed fighting for our freedoms. We might not all agree with the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq but they are still willing to fight and if necessary die because our country's leadership feels we belong there. Give our military the same respect and honor you would someone that is famous because they do what the other 99% of our country won't do – They fight for you/ God Bless You all and God Bless America
Chris, this is a blog.
CIndy – I don know one thing....MADONNA HAS NO TALENT!!
Taylor – sorry about your aunt's passing but some of us just don't get why she rates this much attention on a worldwide news organization.
If it wasn't news and you didn't want to read it .. then why did you?
It's amazing how cold some people can be BEHIND their computers.
There are people who are VERY touched by this woman's passing. Unless you can give heartfelt condolensces ... STFU ... and that includes mindless comments about Madonna. You know her oh so well.
Taylor, I'm very sorry for your loss. Don't let these idiots get to you. It's just not worth it.
Steve- she is not the spitting image of michael moore, she was a very beautiful and talented lady.
Chris- seeing as how caresse was my beloved aunt i care that she has passed, and it is news because of the vast group of people's lives she touched and changed, so go to hell you idiot she died on march 31st anyhow .
Hi Taylor, I knew your aunt! I moved to the Midwest 3 years ago, and just saw that she had passed watching the Grammy's. I'm so incredibly sorry! She helped me and my family out while my mom was dying, and I was a single mom who had just had a baby trying to make ends meet without losing my mind! I wish I could have been there for her! :( my love goes out to her whole family.
WHILE I LEARNED SOME TIME AGO OF THE PASSING OF YOUR AUNT, I WAS THINKING ABOUT HER TODAY AND DECIDED TO GO ON GOOGLE TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY DEVELOPMENTS REGARDING HER DEATH.
I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS OF YOUR AUNT. CARESSE WAS SUCH A KIND SOUL TO ALL THOSE WHO NEW HER. I MET HER IN MIAMI WHEN I HAD PAINTED INGRID CACERES'S CLUB "LIQUID". CARESSE WAS THERE WITH MADONNA AND I ENDED UP GIVING HER FIVE OF MY PAINTINGS, WHICH I SENT TO HER IN L.A.
I DON'T KNOW IF THE PAINTINGS ARE STILL AROUND, I HOPE THEY ARE. THEY WERE PAINTINGS OF CATS, A BIG CAT PAINTING, AND A FLOWER IN A VASE. WHAT I HOPE IS THAT HER CHILDREN HAVE THE ART, OR THAT THEY ARE STILL IN YOUR FAMILIES POSSESSION.
I CAN'T STAND MADONNA NOW, AND KNOWING HOW EVIL SHE IS, I WOULDN'T DISMISS HER INVOLVEMENT IN HER DEATH!
BUT REST ASSURED, YOUR AUNT'S SPIRIT WILL LIVE ON AND I KNOW THAT YOU ARE VERY PROUD OF HER!
SHE WILL ALWAYS BE CLOSE TO YOUR HEART!
WARMLY, A.J. WAGENHALS/N.Y.C.
MADONNA WAS VERY BLESSED TO HAVE CARESSE IN HER LIFE. INFACT, IF IT WEREN'T FOR CARESSE, I DON'T KNOW HOW FAR MADONNA WOULD HAVE EVOLVED. IT'S VERY DISTURBING THE WAY SHE ENDED THEIR RELATIONSHIP. BUT FAME AND WEALTH CAN SICKEN ONE'S MIND, AND IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT CARESSE HAD TO WATCH HER FRIEND DETERIORATE INTO SOMETHING THAT SHE HADN'T BEEN.
@chris ........Except your name, Cause you sound hideous.
Pressure to report the news quickly should not lead to inaccuracy. It is sloppy journalism to use a photo and not identify the people in it. Please caption the above photo with names of these people and the approximate date it was taken. Thank you.
The redhead or burnette?
I find this story so incredibly sad. A wonderful person who gave to so many people. Had a great deal of power, worked extremely hard. Can only handle one client because there is no time for any others. Not when you are repping the #1. So the relationship falls apart (not over personal but $) and she after 15+ years has to deal with losing power, friend and people who did not need anything from her- vanished.
The ugliest thing is she died yesterday, not one word came out, I find it interesting it has taken this long for it to trickle out. Trickle out- there is much more to this story. I found it sad that her former had been out to dinner last night having a good time- if other people knew about C's death – I know her former knew, and was out to dinner w/ Gwen in her leather pants- as the headlines in UK showed pics of her leaving from dinner w/ Madonna, boyfriend & entourage. Very Sad Indeed. I just cannot believe it ended this way. Rest In Peace C.
Doubly agreed – a _former_ manager dies, someone who was hardly famous, yet she's put on a national news site? Yes, condolenses are in order, but how about the production assistant who set up the studio prior to Madonna recording? C'mon CNN, it's a big world; surely there's more news to print than this.
Madonna's so self-centered and cold-hearted that she probably won't even have the decency to go to the funeral. She just uses people and then drops them.
how is this news and whocares. she is one of many who will die on 4/2/2010....put everyone else's name on cnn who dies.
Thanks to the lack of a picture caption it would seem Caresse is the spitting image of Michael Moore.
We are devasted to hear the news. Despite all the rumors that surrounded her, we got to know a beautiful and loving woman. She cared deeply for those she loved and always seemed to help others when in need. We will never forget what she did for us and all of the goodness she showed us. We are eternally thankful and grateful. You will be missed Caresse... deeply.
In tears right now. I still have the last email Caresse sent me. I am sooooo sad. Words can't really convey how I feel right now. Caresse, you were a joy to all that knew you. May angels surround you now and always. Much love...xoxoxo
I bet Madonna had her killed.
