Michael Alig cooks up a post-prison career
The notorious Michael Alig - the erstwhile uber-Club Kid portrayed by Macauley Culkin in the 2003 film "Party Monster" - has been cooking up some notions about his post-prison career. The 44-year old former New York party promoter and talk show staple pleaded guilty to the grisly 1996 killing and dismemberment of drug dealer Andre "Angel" Meléndez and is due to possibly be released from Coxsackie Correctional Facility this fall, pending completion of a drug treatment program. After serving his manslaughter sentence, he'd like to serve the public. Some food, that is. FULL POST How '2525' hit the top![]() testing captions Do you remember "In the Year 2525"? The ominous hit song about technology, by one-hit wonders Zager and Evans? Jerry Weintraub - famed Hollywood promoter and producer, friend of performers and presidents - does. During an interview with CNN.com, he told an interesting story about its rise to No. 1 in the summer of '69. His story begins at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where Weintraub heard the song in a hallway. The guy playing it in his room was an A&R man for RCA Records and acquaintance of Weintraub's. Inside Walter's mind on a musical 'Fringe'
Last night's episode of "Fringe" might prove a bit controversial among devotees of the show. Fans looking for an episode that would move the plot further along or answer some questions have to wait for next week. However, fans looking for a fun diversion, paying homage to much of what makes this show great, probably really enjoyed this week's film noir musical extravaganza emanating from the mind of Walter Bishop. Count me in that group. Now that Peter knows the truth about where he came from, he took off and disappeared. Walter, in his sorrow over this fact (and his drug-induced haze), tells Olivia's niece a tale of how her aunt is a hard-boiled detective in a world that looks a lot like the 1940s, but isn't, what with the existence of computers and cell phones. Not only that but in this world, Walter has invented rainbows, and conducts a chorus of singing corpses (love the polka-dotted cow in his lab). Really bizarre stuff, even for this show. FULL POST Rielle Hunter: I was helping John Edwards find his 'authentic self'
Despite many people telling her it wasn’t the best idea to sit down with Oprah Winfrey for an interview, Rielle Hunter - politician John Edwards' mistress - decided to do it anyway. "I feel in my heart it’s the right thing to do," Hunter said Thursday, especially now that "Johnny," as she calls him, has admitted paternity of their daughter, Frances Quinn. Hunter said she wanted to set the facts straight about who she is, and that while she understands the judgment that has been heaped upon her, she doesn’t see herself as a home wrecker or gold digger, she told Winfrey. 'Real Housewives of ATL' star NeNe denies cheating
For weeks blogs have been buzzing that Leakes has been having an affair with NFL player Charles Grant – a charge she strongly denies. “Greg and I are still together – not separated or divorced,” Leakes said in a statement released to CNN. “I have not left my husband for NFL player Charles Grant, and I don’t know how those rumors started.” Shakira in Arizona to protest new immigration law
Two popular singers are in Arizona on Thursday to voice their opposition to the state's tough new immigration law. Grammy Award-winning Colombian singer Shakira will meet with Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon at City Hall in the evening. Gordon has called the law unconstitutional and has said he may sue on behalf of the city to stop the law from taking effect. Legendary singer-songwriter Linda Ronstadt will attend a rally that organizers say will draw thousands. Ronstadt grew up in a Mexican-American family in Tucson. The new law requires police to determine whether a person is in the United States legally. It also requires immigrants to carry their alien registration documents at all times and requires police to question people if there is reason to suspect they're in the United States illegally. Critics say the law will foster racial profiling. Editor's Note: Grammy Award winner, singer, songwriter and philanthropist Shakira is heading to Phoenix , Arizona, to lend a voice in the immigration debate. Tonight she talks to Anderson Cooper about what she hopes to accomplish. Watch “AC360,” tonight at 10 ET on CNN.
