Anna Kendrick doubted she would make it into what turned out to be a blockbuster film, let alone be nominated for an Academy Award.

"I was so convinced that I blew it," she said. "I thought I had not impressed [director] Jason Reitman at all."

Mo'Nique: 'Precious' has the power to change lives

Mo'Nique and "Up in the Air" actress Anna Kendrick bumped into each other on the red carpet, but there wasn't even the tiniest hint of animosity between the two best supporting actress nominees.

Sure, they're going head to head for the Oscar, but it's not at all a competition," Mo'Nique told E!'s Ryan Seacrest. "It’s truly a celebration."

Mo'Nique, who is walking into the ceremony as the favorite for best supporting actress, said she's honored and appreciative. "But," she added, "I was as honored when I did 'Soul Plane,' and when they gave me a show on BET."

Zac Efron says best picture will be a toss up

Actor Zac Efron, who's slowly but surely shedding his "High School Musical" skin with movies such as "Me and Orson Welles," told E! that he was getting inspired simply by being on the red carpet.

As for the future, the 22-year-old said, "there’s no real game plan, it’s hard to set everything in stone. I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future. I’m just trying to pick the best projects. I’m taking my time with it, this is the most interesting time I’ve had in my career by far. I want to take my time to pick and choose what I want to do next."

Before he stopped to talk to Ryan Seacrest, Efron bumped into "Avatar" star Sam Worthington and let it slip that he's seen the movie four times.

"I’ve seen you in every “D” possible," Efron joked, adding that while the entire cast was great, Worthington stood out.

For Efron, the choice of who will take best picture is a toss up. "I don’t know. I’ve got friends who worked on 'The Hurt Locker,' but then again, 'Avatar' was such a masterpiece."

Actress Paula Patton was shining on the Academy Award's red carpet almost as much as Oscar himself.

The beautiful co-star of the film "Precious" was stunning in an off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera dress, which complimented her baby bump. Her husband, singer Robin Thicke, smiled proudly at his wife, who said she is due to give birth to their first child, a son, on May 23.

Patton had nothing but kind words for her co-stars in the critically acclaimed film and told "Showbiz Tonight's" Brooke Anderson that she was especially impressed by the film's star, Gabourey Sidibe. FULL POST
