Carrie Prejean's breasts: tit for tat?

I read with interest the latest salvo in the Carrie Prejean-Miss California USA tussle. The pageant officials are asking the ousted Prejean to pay back the $5200 they ostensibly "loaned" her to have her breasts augmented. Their demand for repayment followed Prejean's lawsuit claiming pageant officials violated her privacy when they told reporters her breasts were fake.  Call it tit for tat.

If you pay any sort of attention to pageants, and I admit I don't, the before and after pictures of Prejean are markedly different. Let's just say her cups now runneth over. Did pageant officials invade her privacy or did they state the obvious? That's for a court to decide.

The court will also decide whether the 22-year-old Prejean will have to reimburse the pageant. The two sides don't agree on much at all these days, but according to court filings, the one thing both sides did see eye to eye on was the need for Prejean to "grow a pair" in order to be more competitive in the Miss USA pageant. Prejean was the first runner-up; you make the call.

What do you think? Should Prejean give back the money... or the merchandise?

She can't sue the Organization as one post insisted her doing...She has put herself in the limelight and according to law, if one so chooses to live that life, they have no protection from malice and things of that nature...

So what they said her boobs were fake, they can say it all they want because she has chosen a life in front of cameras...You put yourself out there, you are subject to criticism, no matter how low or high...

Did she not believe God knew what he was doing when he made them? Isn't God the higher authority? Isn't what HE wants more important that what she felt she needed to win? How dare she try to tell people that their needs in life are WRONG and against God's plan when she goes off and pays for boobs so she can win a stupid beauty pageant. She's a fake in so many ways it's LAUGHABLE

And why pray tell, would pagent officials be paying someone to augment their breasts or anything else? I thought these women were supposed to be au-naturale and not enhanced with +2s or anything else? I think the people that put on the pagent should be ashamed of themselves for even thinking that Ms. Prejean wasn't good enough on her own and actually paying her to be enhanced. They should just deal with the loss and this whole thing can then go away!

They exploited her for ratings. They told her to get the job done, and they gave her money to do it. They should move on and leave her alone. She did what they asked, and gvae them all the promotion they could ever ask for. I think she has performed the job they wanted, and they made a good investment. Move on, and let her 15 minutes of fame, move on to.

I gotta say, pretty clever comments but it is like playing Russian Roulette. And if you would have won, you would be fine but if you would have lost, then where's my money at?

So what if she's a fake and a wannabe and I'm sure she was as beautiful before getting the enhancement, I'm sure of that. Women do take things seriusly on their image and I would prefer a women who isn't afraid to show what she gots, insted of pretending. And talk about double standards, it is because of the question and just because she lost don't mean is her obligation to pay them back and will you say she's happy now than before? I hope she is, she is a very lovely lady.

And if I would take it farther, what about the other contestants? Who would say they also had enhancements as well? To compete? To feel beautiful? If that's their choice and care so much about their image, then you wonder and expect why so many young ladies nowadays have lil skirts, to begin with. Who is it to blame? Let alone whether they were raised like that is based on their morality and convictions but overall, women care as much as we men do when it comes to image.

She'sa beautiful women and with all this talk about her not coming through or giving the wrong answer to another b--(Perez Hilton), just validates my point that women do not like it when the other girl next door is or is better than you...especially if you show off. Women are sophisticated and talented, their beauty justifies what kind of character they are and it is fair to say that women care so much than us men.

If it was a contract and had to pay them back, then I guess she would but there's the bad and the good, you can't have it both. I ain't going to judge her and question her motives to why she did this and the adulterer "Donald Hump" is just sitting back and raking in the millions like he always does.

I'm sure she's a very, very intelligent women and a good one too, she even answer her questions thoroughly and detailing. What else can you ask for and hope for? Unless you find out the truth later on...or the hard way, as I like to call it, :)

I'm not saying Prejean is right, but I will say that the response of the Miss CA folk is somewhat catty... "You divulged the implants when you walked out in a bikini." Rather unprofressional... sounds like something you'd hear in a catfight at a bar or something.
On the legal end of things, oral contracts are hard to enforce. You have to have witnesses to the agreement, and to what details the agreement outlined. Either that or both parties have to admit the agreement and the details. The Miss CA folks should have known better and gotten all of it in writing.

"Being gay is not natural". I'm sure that is the way you feel if you are straight. I'm gay and I feel "Being straight is not natural". I respect your right to persue heterosexuality; you need to respect my right to persue homosexuality.

Its easy to make snap decisions about what others do with their lives when you are on the outside looking in. male female, straight, gay, white, black, thin, fat, smart, dumb, pretty, ugly, disabled, christian, jewish, muslim. For the most part, pople are born these ways. Got created them in his/her likeness. Why is it so hard for eveyone to accept people that are different than them?

Carrie should not give back the money regardless of the circumstances. As she was a representitive of the pageant, and the pageant fired her, that should be what is called "The cost of doing buisness". How many of us out there would like to lose our jobs (especially for voicing an opinion which we all have at our place of work) and then have to start paying back to the employer for things they purchased for them to be more sucessful such as sending people to continuing education classes, college, etc. As far as the pageant releasing information on breast enhancement, it's not relavent if the world saw themn on TV, until this came out, I never knew and couldn;t have cared less. Go for it Carrie, it's high time the people fought back for what is right.

Why should she pay it back? They were the ones who thought she should be enhanced and they received the benefit of what they were looking for, they're just being petty, because she didn't want to be their wind-up doll. The shallowness and hypocrisy of the whole pageant business is enough to make someone gag and for the California pageant officials to behave in this way exemplfies the ludicrousness of the whole idea of pageants. While I am not a Christian, the first law is one that we should all take to heart in living in this world – thou shalt have no other God before me. The thought that she places her personal beauty before other things, especially her health, shows how lost she is, the pageant officials are and the American people for their support of such drivel.

As a minister, do you also feel that Christian women who wear makeup to make themselves look more beautiful are hypocrites? Where, exactly, do you draw the line? Any clothing that shows off their legs, or does it depend on how much of their legs are shown? What about tight clothing? Does it depend on how tight? And are you the one to make these determinations? I'm not going to try to pretend I know everything that constitutes sinning, but I can base some of my views on what's in the bible. If you can clue me in to scripture that will help support your view that breast augmentation constitutes a sin, that might help. But be careful not to attribute to this woman reasons for her procedure that are not proven. Perhaps the reason was, as stated (I believe), to better her chances of winning the pageant.

A true christian should not be focused on their body or their looks or even want to take part in a pagent that is full of vanity. I guess she wants to pick & choose which areas she represents and supports in the christian religion. Pay the money back so the media will stop feeing and fueling her fame. She's had her 15 minutes now she needs to go away. What model, beauty queens or any women in that category have NOT Had a boob job. I bet that list is much shorter than the one's who have.

Look let's face the fact the pageant is all about this false sense of beauty. Anyone who doesn't think that the officials from Ms. America gave her the money for the augmentation is nuts. Trump runs it for pete's sake. Of course, it's all about looks. I don't care if she pays it back or not; it just proves the ridiculousness of these things.

As to those who are using her as an example of Christian hypocrisy. I am a minister and a Christian and yes she is a hypocrite, but don't classify me with the minority. I think homosexuality is a sin but I think changing your body to be more "sexually attractive" and thus induce sin is a sin in the same class. Most of us don't watch or get involved with these things. So please keep your bigotted opinions about Christians to yourself.

According to most polls, it is not "widely believed...people are born homosexual." Virtually all polls are fairly close, with most showing more feel people are NOT born homosexual.

Your argument is deeply flawed in other areas, as well. If one is born with a cleft palate, and doctors repair it, does that fall under your argument that, like those who receive breast implants, Peter may deny entrance? What if you get an artificial heart, or a pacemaker? There's nothing in the bible that forbids breast implants, unless you can point it out to me. There is, however, mention of homosexuality. If you are going to try the biblical argument here, you are going to lose. Same with claiming opinions support the "born with it" argument.

There is a huge difference between the Miss America pageant and the Miss USA pageant. The prime example is that in Miss USA the swimsuit portion counts for three times what the score counts for in Miss America. Please don't get them confused. So obviously Miss California USA group would want her to have bigger boobs. Miss USA pulls the self-centered fake barbies. And she's being called out for it. You'd never see that by Miss America. Miss USA is just a corporate enterprise headed by Donald Trump. She probably was violating her contract and skipping things she didn't want to do, and they probably did overreact to her personal opinion bowing to media pressure.

    Bottom line...

When this whole thing goes to court...

The characters of the participants in the case are going to be taken into consideration.

Prejean signed the contract with K2 – the contract detailed her duties and restrictons (they own the rights to the title of Miss California) and in exchange they agreed, in the contract, to help prepare her for the national and world contests.

That contract lies the foundation for any verbal agreements that followed including loaning her money to pay for breast augmentation. By the way, K2 has documented evidence and witnesses who will testify that it was Prejean who approached them about the issue, saying that she felt she needed larger breasts to be more competittive but didn't have the money herself. In loaning her the money, they were just following through on their part of the agreement to support her preparations for the national contest.

Prejean will have to admit, under oath, that she lied in her contract to K2 about the existence of any photos. She will have to admit, under oath, that she lied about the existence of more photos. She will have to admit to engaging in activities as Miss Calfornia that were not approved by the company that owns the title. She will have to admit to seeking and agreeing to a book deal without seeking K2's approval despite the fact that her contract with them expressly requires such.

When it comes down to credibility, Prejean is just going to have to explain alot of lies and insubordination.

First, if they did give her a loan and didn't get it in writing, then they are idiots and deserve to not be repaid...what sort of professional organization doesn't get something like that in writing???

Second, even if it was a valid loan, it was for their benefit as much as hers...her benefit is obvious. As for them, they want attention for their contestants and having flawless bodies goes a long way to that, especially given how much these pageants are struggling anyway. By stripping her of her crown for a silly reason (I do NOT agree with her politics, by the way), they eliminated the main manner in which she could earn money to pay them back, so they should hardly be able to claim they are at a loss-any loss is due to their own actions.

Get it straight. This isn't an attack by the liberal left media. The lady has an opinion, fine, it's a free country and she is certainly entitled to it, and if given a soap box free to express it.

But, SHE LIED and falsely REPRESENTED herself. That makes her a scumbag, not by liberal standards, but by the very standards that the conservatives think they hold yet conveniently forget when one of their own seems to find them a burdensome.

To all of you who are defending her (especially those who so stupidly believe this is still about the answer she gave on Miss USA) – HAVE YOU BOTHERED TO READ THE COMPLAINTS FILED BY EITHER SIDE?

They are available online – you can read them – and once you do, if you have a IQ higher than a dog and any common sense at all, you will see that this is a case of an employee whose behavior became increasingly insubordinate once she won the state title.

They had every right to fire her after the first semi-nude photo of her came out because she had signed a statement prior to participating in the state constest avowing that she had never posed nude or semi-nude.

When confronted with that picture, she claimed it was the only one.

Later that same day, more pictures came out.

Tell me...do any of you allow pictures to be taken of yourselves withouut your clothes and then just forget about them? Even if you're later asked about such photos?

    Of course not.

She knew the photos were out there and she lied about their existence.

So, tell me...if you had an employee or co-worker who lied to get hired and then lied when confronted with their previous lie – would you be defending them?

If she's going to foolishly slap them with a frivolous lawsuit that states she was "victimized" over her answer by the organization when there's no proof whatsoever, the good for the Miss CA USA organization for slapping her back with their countersuit.

If steroid use is "cheating" in sports, why isn't breast augmentation considered cheating in a beauty pageant? I wouldn't be at all surprised if in a few decades, Miss USA contestants are barely recognizable as human. Don't get me wrong, I think people should be allowed to do whatever stupid things they want to themselves, but lets be honest with ourselves about what beauty pageants are: They're a form of pornography. Again, don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with porn, just people that try to pass it off as something more high-minded than it really is.

Yes, she should pay for the breast augmentation. She wanted it, they loaned her the money so she should pay them back. As for violating her privacy, when you enter the Miss America Pageant, you give up a lot of privacy...Besides, it isn't hard for people to pull up old pictures of her and new pictures and see that her breasts have been altered. just my 2 cents worth. ;)

I read an article about this that the Carrie & the Pageant had a "oral" agreement that they would pay for her augmentation. The article did not specify if she was required to pay the money back. It also said that breast implants are sometimes deemed necessary by the Pageant and contestants so they can be competitive. Given those "facts": (1) An oral agreement is not binding; (2) the Pageant's idea of "beauty" is messed up if boobs are what's important (get your priorities straight Pageant); (3) It doesn't matter if before & after are markedly different; the Pageant had no right to divulge that information to the public. I don't care for this Preejan person whatsoever and I don't follow pageants either but because of all the media attention over the whole "scandal", I am in the loop as to what went on; and despite the fact I don't like Carrie as a person, I believe the Pageant is way out of line and unprofessional. I hope the court rules in favor of Carrie regarding her privacy being violated by the Pageant; and I also hope the Pageant's counter suit of repayment of the boob money is tossed out the window. Pagents are stupid and so are people who get boob jobs to look "beautiful".

For all those who seem to think that Prejean has been victimized by the Miss CA USA organization for her beliefs on gay marriage, GET THE FACTS.

-Miss Prejean lied on her application regarding topless photos.
-Miss Prejean lost the pageant not because of the content of her answer but because she expressed herself poorly and illogically. As well, she trailed the eventual winner in the competition scores throughout the finals.
-Miss Prejean repeatedly breached her contract with the Miss CA USA by not showing up for scheduled contract events. There's no law against being difficult, but she was extremely so and her emails to the organizations BEFORE the Miss USA pageant clearly demonstrate this.
-The very next morning after the pageant the Miss CA USA organization posted a message on their website that indicated their support for Miss Prejean and her right to her beliefs.

As well, Miss Prejean speaks often about her living a "biblically correct" life and her faith as the main reason she doesn't support same-sex marriage. Fine. But Miss Prejean's willingness to undergo breast augmentation runs absolutely contrary to living a "biblically correct" life. All she needed to do was re-read Leviticus 19:28 to remember.

She is typical of religious conservatives in this country who time after time expose their true hypocritical selves on the national stage.

Hard to believe anyone in the conservative political sphere could be more "inarticulate and undereducated" (conservative columnist Liz Trotta's words) than Sarah Palin, but then along comes Carrie.

I think she has acted unlady like but think the Pageant & its managers owners & judges have been criminally stupid. First thats fraud helping a contestant falsely improve themselves & just shows the pageant & judges are fixed. I doubt anyone else got loans or breast implants. If they paid the money for the boobs then its their loss. Also this whole things started because she stuck to what she feels & believes while I dont agree with it she held her guns & they fired her then started attacking her & asking for the boobs or loan back after she countered. Both sides are fools in this fraud but again had she kept the crown & not been lamblasted for her beliefs she would have kept the boobs without question so they were a gift / investment & thus not loaned. She wasnt suppose to return them win or lose so suddenly she is? Both sides need to just go away.

    Coffeeaddict,

If you would bother to educate yourself and actually read the countersuit against Prejean you would know the pageant was having issues with her long before she ever gave that answer and people like you hopped on her bandwagon.

The have a contract, SIGNED BY PREJEAN (and every other contestant, for that matter) stating that if they win that they will follow and adher to all the guidelines contained within.

The countersuit details the many battles they had with Prejean after she won the state contest and before she went to Miss USA. She had effectively broken ties with them going into the Miss USA pageant, the first state title holder they had ever had do that.

She refused to show up for events she was scheduled for. Instead she agreed to events without seeking permission from K2 (the company that owns the state franchise) as required by her contract.
She was doing all this long before YOU ever had any idea who she was.

The media, of course, is sensationalizing the boob job angle because that is what the media does.

If people like you would bother to look deeper you find out there is much more to the whole story. Carrie Prejean is not the innocent victim/saint that she is portraying herself to be. In fact, K2 has substantially bolstered their suit against her with many of her own words (emails, etc) which show her to insubordinate, uncooperative, demanding and extremely self-serving.

Again, alot of this was going on before she ever walked on the stage for Miss USA.

She was an employee of K2, under a contract, which she signed.

She violated the contract – wilfully and blatantly – and she is going to pay through the nose for it.

I think its deplorable that a national pageant with the title of USA in its own name even loan money for breast augmentation to a barely mature adult woman for the sole purpose of giving her a competitive edge. I'm all about doing whatever it takes to win, but to have a pageant committee suggest such measures to be taken is a bit too far. And really on the surface of this story, it sounds more like they called for her to go through with the procedure.

In either case, forcing a woman to get implants so a state can claim national pride over a beautiful woman and then creating news sensationalism over said implants is a bit counterintuitive.

Since when are beauty pageants about fake beauty? I come from a family of women who has had a woman compete and win Miss Pennsylvania and compete in Miss Pennsylvania years ago. I remember when the pageant was about being a role model. When the contestants had to have more than beauty they also had to have brains. No one was buying boob jobs for contestants. I remember the days I dreamed of being Miss America, now when I look at the crown it reminds me of a two bit hooker :) not a role model.

Since then the has been villified, attacked (just look a the headlines on this article's URL, the comments on the heading, and in the text), and insulted, with all criticism aimed at her, and not the pageant for being quite honestly, jerks.

I happen to support gay marriage. However, the way in which this woman has be treated by the pagent, and CNN, is utterly sexist and insulting.
