I'm with Louis.
Great, he goes five years being sober. He did that before and ended up in rehab again. He's a good actor, but in the REAL WORLD, he's a proven resident of rehab centers and jail cells.

Robert Downey Jr. has been sober several times now. Sorry, not buying it anymore. It's just a matter of time before he checks back in. Count on it.
And I agree, he's a brilliant actor. But I will not defend him because he has gone a 'while' being sober, and then a while not being sober, then a while being sober again. It's the same pony, he'll do it again.

Brad Pitt is incredible, and if he teams up with Robert Downey Jr. the movie will be awesome. What makes you think Brad would take Robert Downey Jr. part??? Duuuuuh don't see it happening, Dan is probably right and they want him for another part like Moriarty.
Both those guys only make 'good' movies if you noticed. Maybe your more into chicks...oops I mean chick flicks. ; )
Louis, that is what rehabilitation is all about...so you can get back to your life....Downey, Jr. is an excellent actor as he has proven post rehab in Iron Man
This is CNN and I thought stupid people don't check this site. People always making comments and quick assumptions w/o watching the clip first or even using their minds.
In this news clip, it says that Brad Pitt is in talks to play the nemesis of Sherlock Holmes (played by Robert Downey, Jr.) for the sequel and not to replace Downey as Holmes.
Grrrrrrrr. Watch and listen first.
Does any one posting here know whats going on in the real world ( ATTN: LOUIS) Downey has been sober for something like 5 years now
Robert Downey Jr. would make a fine Sherlock Holmes, but I would prefer to see Kevin Spacey in the role.

Hard to disagree with your sentiments for the most part, but we can't forget to add that Robert Downey Jr is usually unable to get away from his rehab center to do more movies. And also, when he does attend a job function, It's easy to act when you are permanently drugged out and have no clue who or where you are.

Ooooh...Robert Downey Jr. WOULD make a wonderful Sherlock Holmes. Not dissing Brad, cause I do like him, but that would be an outstanding role for Downey.
