I have yet to understand all the outrage I am reading here. The movie is rated R very clearly and it states it is rated that way for adult language and sexuality. If you do not like that then read the ratings and do not see it. I thought we would be beyond puritan censorship and outrage in this day and age.

Ok, reality check. While this is definitely funny and crude, it is however not at all up to the level of Borat. Many of the gags you can see coming and in many of the scences clearly hollywood magic is at its finest. The facial expressions of the unwilling, (naive rubes that fall prey to Bruno's antics) had to have been responding to other less provocative questions and responses from Bruno, who then thorugh the magic of editing, dubbed in different , much more salaciuous and crude questions) This is blatantly obvious as no way could that many people have such deadpan reactions to the absurd questions and comments pose by Bruno. For me this made the movie way too predictble and unlike Borat, something that after 15 minutes I was waiting for it to be over.

Overall not nearly as good as Borat, totally predictable and Sascha Baron Cohen aka Bruno tries way to hard to push the envelope and falls flat on his face. His 15 minutes of fame are up with this contrived, highly edited ,less than believable film.

SKIP IT and save our money. It will be out of theaters and onto DVD very soon.

Why does everyone think that people over the age of 50 are shocked by homosexuals, sex, and outrageous humor. we are children of the 60's where irreverent, unihibitted humor was born......I loved Bruno...hilarious! Take your parents, they can explain some of the jokes to you!

I think the main difference between Borat and Bruno is that the audience felt a connection with Borat, who was generally a likable character. We became emotionally invested in Borat's journey. We felt sorry for him when he was walking along with no one but his chicken for company. But Sacha didn't develop the character of Bruno past the vapid cardboard cutout cartoon. We never became attached to him, never found anything to like about him. It became just a series of jokes and gags that tried to hold the story together. Sure, there were hilarious scenes, like when he is with the Christian gay counselor, or during the climactic wrestling-turned-romance scene, but all in all I found it a kind of desperate attempt to shock, and it failed. C'mon Sacha! You're way smarter than this!

My father and I, thinking there were a few soft-core scenes, went to see "Caligula" together, because we were both Malcolm McDowell fans. I was 18. I don't know which of us was more uncomfortable.

My boyfriend of 3 years took me to see it this weekend and I can tell you that I wish he would have gone with his guy friends instead! His mother was trying to go with us before we left but thankfully we would not let her come. At the end of the night let's just say I discovered that inner 15 year old that still lives in the recesses of my very serious and mature boyfriends mind.

Yeah, we watched American Pie with my mom, aunt, and two male16 year old cousins. I was 15 at the time and when the scene came up with Shannon Elizabeth naked in the bedroom masturbating, my mom dies laughing and my aunt all yelled at us to get out of the room and shield our eyes. I ran out of the room mortified while my cousins wrestled their mom down to finish watching the scene

I remember going to see Basic Instinct at the 99cent theatre one Friday night and was amazed at all the small children there! I mean, doesn't anyone use babysitters any more? Just because you want to see the film doesn't mean you should go ahead and bring the kids - use a neighbor, a relative, anyone - leave the kids at home! As for Bruno - our theater actually had 3 different signs up at the cashier warning people about it (I guess too many people had walked out demanding refunds). This was def a movie that should have been NC-17 or unrated -- I mean, this was NOTHING compared to The Aristrocrats which was released unrated --- and I enjoyed The Aristrocrats immensely. Bruno had one or two truly funny moments, but overall - just embarassingly bad (did like it when he called Mel Gibson - The Fuhrer!).

Sometimes you choose the movies and other times the movies are chosen for you?. Ah yes the movie you must watch for school, the foreign movie. once I had to watch a movie called "Jamon, Jamon" which roughly translates to "Ham, Ham" in Spanish Class. First Mistake? take the assigned movie with you over winter break and watch it at home. Lets just say the film was borderline pornography and the excuse of "But its for school!" got real old and even more cringe worthy when the parents want to watch with you. Not a good idea. Bruno, Borat unconfortable? Please - Jamon, Jamon was just plain torture after the first half hour.
