Celebrity reaction continues to pour in over the death of Michael Jackson.

“It is so hard to express in words what Michael Jackson meant to me.  He was my friend.  He was one of the reasons I got into the music business.  He inspired me.  He taught me.  He laughed with me.  He paved the way for African American artists to be played on MTV which was huge.  My heart is full of grief for his family and his children and I pray that they take solace in the incredible legacy of his music and art.”   Whitney Houston

"I can't stop crying, this is too sudden and shocking.   I am unable to imagine this.  My heart is hurting. I am in prayer for his kids and the family." – Diana Ross

"The Michael I knew was far more thoughtful considerate and caring than they would ever write about.....he was a really good father and his Kids have suffered a tremendous loss my heart goes out to his entire family but especially to his parents who gave to the world this AMAZING GIFT......the lies, the fighting, the courts, the prison of fame, the embezzlers, the con artist, what they gonna say now. The King of pop is free.......and write this now, that one of the greatest at what he did is gone.....I sure wanted to see him do his thing just one more time.....I will miss Michael" – Steve Harvey

"Michael Jackson is the reason why I do music and why I am an entertainer.  I am devastated by this great loss, and I will continue to be humbled and inspired by his legacy. My prayers are with his family.  Michael will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.  He's the greatest... the best ever.  No one will ever be better." –R. Kelly (wrote"You Are Not Alone)

"This loss has deeply saddened me! It is with a heavy heart I composed this statement. May God cover you Michael. We all lift your name up in prayer. I pray for the entire JACKSON family particularly Michael's mother, children and all his fans that loved him so much. I would not be the artist, performer, and philanthropist I am today without the influence of Michael. I have great admiration and respect for Him and I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to meet and perform with such a great entertainer, who in so many ways, transcended the culture. He broke barriers, he changed radio formats! With music, he made it possible for people like Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama to impact the mainstream world. His legacy is unparalleled. Michael Jackson will never be forgotten." –Usher

"This is such a tragic loss and a terrible day.  The incomparable Michael Jackson has made a bigger impact on music than any other artist in the history of music.  He was magic.  He was what we all strive to be.  He will always be the king of pop!  Life is not about how many breaths you take, but about how many moments in life that take your breath away.  For anyone who has ever seen, felt, or heard his art, we are all honored to have been alive in this generation to experience the magic of Michael Jackson.  I love you Michael." -Beyonce

"I am deeply saddened to hear of Michael's sudden passing. His was a rare talent that we witness once in a lifetime. One who makes such an indelible mark that for generations singers and dancers attribute him as inspiration. I had the great privilege of watching him every night doing what he did best...entertain.  I am grateful to have known him for the 2 years I worked for him and will mourn his loss with his many millions of fans across the world." – Sheryl Crow

"I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear about the sudden death of Michael Jackson. He is a musical icon. I have always said to myself that the top would be working with Michael and last year when I got the chance to work with him, I was completely humbled. Michael Jackson's accomplished so much that there's not even words to explain what he's done for urban and pop music. Every artist that I personally know has been influenced by him. The world has lost one of the greatest entertainers who shaped many generations and will continue to for years to come." – Akon

It's almost been 5 months since Michael's passing and it still tears me up inside whenever I think of it. I can dance to his music and feel so much joy but as soon as I see a youtube interview clip or a video of him, I just break down inside. I don't know where this immense hurt is coming from because I understand that death is assured for all. He was such a good soul and I truly hope that Allah grants him heaven. An angel on earth..an angel in the sky, insha Allah.

I love and miss you still.

First off I never realized how much love I have for Michael Jackson until he is gone and no longer in this world. I wish i could have seen him in person live in a concert but now it's too late for me to fulfill that wish. I miss him so much and i hope i overcome my sadness of losing him. May he and his soul Rest In Peace because people put him through alot and even then he was kind and still cared about people. I never believed any negative thing said about him R.I.P King of Pop.

Jamie Foxx's statement was viewed as racist and inappropriate by me on the BET awards. I use to admire Jamie for his work and his talent with the all the respect in the world, but that showed me his TRUE side and I am litterally disgusted with the man. While the world morns for Michael Jackson, Jamie tries to isolate it as "He belongs to US (the black community)". I've lost all respect for the man. His excuse will be "Can't anyone take a joke? People need to lighten up"...or was that statement only good for the Miley Cyrus crack. Jamie does not need to speak on his own, he needs to hire a writer to help him with his words. And by the way Jamie, you didn't know Michael very well or you would understand he didn't care about race...he cared about people.

Last night at the BET awards, singer Beyonce professed to paying tribute to Michael Jackson. She sang beautifully. However, I think that Beyonce was really paying tribute to herself. We usually don't see pictures of scantily clad "angels" paying respect to the dead. My opinion is that that her attire for the occasion was entirely inappropriate.
