Is it me or is Kate Gosselin trying to up her sex appeal?
I’ve been watching her progression to media savvy mom over the past few seasons of Jon and Kate plus Eight but it occurred to me as I watched last night that media savvy may now have crossed into sex kitten.
It was around the time that Kate, tanned and highlighted in a green terrycloth sundress, sat on top of the family picnic table while the kids worked on an art project that the idea really sank in. I was completely missing what I am sure was a very interesting interaction between the sextuplets and one of their guest stars, because I found myself hopelessly distracted by Kate’s dress and wondering where I could buy one.
Photos have been splashed on the covers of magazines lately of Kate at the beach in bikinis looking tanned and toned. Now don’t get me wrong, if you are going to the beach and you’ve got the body- especially after 8 kids- go ahead and flaunt it! But in older episodes she was always on the beach in a more conservative tankini and long cover-ups or shorts, even after her televised tummy tuck. This is the woman around whom an entire episode was devoted to making over her wardrobe because she claimed she couldn’t even match her shoes to her outfit. During that episode she moped through the store complaining as Jon chose outfits for her. Now she is prancing around the driveway of her house in espadrilles and jean miniskirts. When did this happen?! And should it happen?
"America's Got Talent" host Nick Cannon was spotted hanging at the White House Tuesday morning. The actor/hip-hop singer/ producer, who was accompanied by a small entourage of four, said he hadn't seen the President. Why was he here? Cannon was taping promos for the season premiere of the show. In fact, later he was positioned in front of a camera on the North Lawn next to CNN yelling loudly "America's got talent! Season four! Begins now!" "The wait is finally over! This is America's got talent!" "Tonight season premiere! The show that turns ordinary people into superstars!" Facing the same challenges White House correspondents regularly experience, Cannon, was forced to do several takes of the teases, stopping and starting because of noisy hammering from construction across the street.
There was just one question almost all the White House photographers asked Cannon, "where's Mariah?" Indeed, there was a lot of finger-pointing and excitement among some who referred to him as "Mariah Carey's husband." So I asked Cannon myself, if she'd be coming. Cannon said Mariah was at home and doing great. You could see the disappointment on so many faces.
Cannon, like many tourists, went to the White House briefing room, stood behind the press secretary's podium, and mugged before cameras. Later he went to the press' back lunch room where he munched on a vending machine sticky bun. Cannon seemed thoroughly excited to be at the White House, despite the fact many in the press corps who spotted him, kept asking, "isn't that Mariah Carey's husband?"
We may not know exactly what Adam Lambert’s debut album will sound like, but we do now know at least one of the project’s producers.
This season’s “American Idol” runner-up confirmed to Parade.com that he is working with RedOne, producer for Lady GaGa.
"I can say that is true,” Lambert said. “We have been writing the past couple days and I think we're going to come out with some amazing tunes. I'm going to have my own sound but I do love Lady Gaga. I'm a huge fan."
The glam rocker gets chatty about Perez Hilton’s “crush” on him, dealing with his newfound celebrity status and reuniting with fellow contestants.
He also reveals that he’s been rubbing shoulders with some big-name artists since the show ended, including Usher, Enrique Iglesias and Madonna.
With so much star power circling in Lambert’s universe, might he be lining up some killer duets for his project?

New albums are hitting stores this week. CNN's Denise Quan has the latest from the Jonas Brothers, George Harrison, Incubus, Hank Williams, Jr., Holly Williams, and Michael Buble:
Leonardo DiCaprio's new film is for anyone (and by anyone, I mean everyone) who enjoyed "The Departed." The actor is teaming up again with Martin Scorsese for the new thriller "Shutter Island," set to release in early October.
DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo play U.S. marshals investigating a hospital for the criminally insane. The fortress-like complex is on a remote, barren island off the Massachusetts coast and a murderess has mysteriously disappeared. Michelle Williams, Patricia Clarkson and Max Von Sydow also star in the film. And we've got the trailer here:
What do you think? Is this something you'll pay to see in theaters?
Provided to CNN by Meghan Stapleton, Spokesperson for Gov. Sarah Palin:
Governor's reaction regarding Letterman's apology:
"Of course it's accepted on behalf of young women, like my daughters, who hope men who 'joke' about public displays of sexual exploitation of girls will soon evolve. Letterman certainly has the right to 'joke' about whatever he wants to, and thankfully we have the right to express our reaction. And this is all thanks to our U.S. Military women and men putting their lives on the line for us to secure America's Right to Free Speech – in this case, may that right be used to promote equality and respect."
