Katie Couric vs. Sarah Palin!

Sarah Palin and Katie Couric are locking horns again, this time after Couric gave a speech at Princeton University and took a jab at Palin. Couric told the class of 2009 that,

“Coming here was a real no brainer! After all, I can see New Jersey from my house!”

Couric was of course referencing the infamous interview Palin did with ABC's Charles Gibson in the fall of 2008. During that interview Sarah Palin, the Republican V.P. nominee, implied that she had foreign policy experience because of Alaska's close proximity to Russia. Palin is not amused.  Meghan Stapleton, Spokesperson for SarahPAC tells Showbiz Tonight;

"No surprises here. The only time anyone pays attention to Couric is when she quotes Tina Fey – it's job security."

Did Katie Couric cross the line? Should Sarah Palin have just laughed at the joke? What do you think?

Why does anyone call her Governor Palin? Since she quit halfway through she should, at best, be called Half-governor Palin.

Katie Couric is a hater, she is jealous of Sarah Pailin, just like Joy Behar. Come on! I may not agree with Sarah Palin's politics, however she is gorgeous and smart. I find in comical at the venom these two women show at Sarah, if she wan't gorgeous they would not show so much hate towards her.

CNN, CBS, NBC – you are actually all radical extreme leftists in your news reporting. Katie Couric, I actually sorta liked you on morning show, however, you certainly ruined your reputation as a reporter. I wonder what your girls will think when they find that you ONLY report what happens to the conservative party of Republicans, Independents, – just regular normal hard working people. You are lowering your self esteem when you snicker over things Sarah Palin is doing, or in fact has ever done. Leave it alone! The NEWS MEDIA is what is ruining our beloved America – you are putting out only facts of wonderful Obama doings, when in fact he is so ingenious when he speaks – he has no thought of the normal average American and the amount of money he has spent with bailouts, FREE health care even including illegal immigrants. LET'S HEAR BROADER REPORTING, NOT JUST YOUR OWN PERSONAL OR BROADCASTING STATION'S OPINIONS. I presume YOU want to be a socialistic nation but not under GOD – you god fearing people need to wake up and stand up for AMERICA and voice both sides of every story on your news casts.
You are Obama fed leftists through and through!

Poor Katie Couric – she has gone from a media darling who used to have some validity to a snide hack who ramps up her viewer base by being spiteful about another female, who happens to be Republican. Ms. Couric is hardly an impartial news commentator and her opinions should be taken with a generous measure of salt. So, she stole a line from Governor Palin to get a cheap laugh – is Katie trying to get on the Letterman show? Katie you are either a serious journalist or you aren't. Which is it going to be? Until you decide, stay off the air.

LOL.....Its funny how many Katie supporters there are on this site. Sadly, Katie doesn't have the same following in the ratings! Is Katie smart? Duh. Is she cute? yea. Does this make her a good journalist? No way. As far as Palin is concerned, why does the left HATE her so much? Biden has shown himself to be an absolute idiot, but the right isn't crucifying him at every turn. Palin is a real person. You hate her because she doesn't see things the same way as you. She is one of the most popular Governors in Alaska's history. I guess all of the folks up there are idiots also. You think?
The difference between you and me is that I respect your right to an opinion and you attack anyone who disagrees with you. Grow up libs! Hate, anger, and resentment will cause heart problems!

Typical left-loving media and their gaggle of followers – generally hypocritical, its a waste of time reporting about their snarkiness and how self-amused it makes them.

CBS needs to send Couric back where she belongs with the left leaning NBC news org. Her ratings are in the toilet and that will not change. CBS needs to treat Couric the same way they disposed of that lunatic Dan Rather. CBS deserves better than Courics liberal rantings. Couric does not even qualify to serve as Sarah's hair stylist. For the rest of you, get used to Sarah, she is going to be around for a while.

It's unfortunate that John McCain thrust Sarah Palin into the national arena. The fact that her husband is a separartist should have been fair warning enough to McCain. Since Sarah and Todd Palin both are secessionists...why don't they simply go to some other country if they don't like America. Considering how they feel, Palin should not be in any position of trust in any political office. It gives her legitimacy which she does not deserve. Recalling her background she maintains she and Todd had eloped to spare her parents the expense of a wedding. Has anyone ever counted the months after her wedding to the birth of her first child? The answer is not nine. So her daughter was only following her parents example., only the wedding didn't happen for her daughter. And I hope that when Palin gives a speech she learns to keep both of her hands in her pockets. Or perhaps she should tape her index fingers down into her hands. She always seems to be instructing the audience to form two lines for a fire drill.
And she needs to get a sense of humor...she IS funny after all.

When you're a politician you have to be able to take jabs, both big and small. Especially when you say something so stupid has Palin did. For her to be mad at that little joke overwhelmingly shows we made the right decision keeping her out of the Whitehouse.

Every time Mrs Palin responds publicly she digs herself deeper and deeper into the stupid hole. Her people need to learn the phrase "no comment." The press didn't make Sarah look stupid, Sarah made herself look stupid. She should take responsibility for her actions in this case words, and realize that she was the one who spoke to Katie Couric and nonesense and stupid stuff came out of her mouth. Katie didn't make her say them.

Mary Thayer – I assure you it was not Katie Couric and her cronies that elected Obama. It was me, along with several other very educated, very reform-passionate Americans. And it's not like the election was even close, so you need to get your head out of... err... the sand and just accept it already.

I don't support Sarah Palin; but Katie Couric needs to move on. This is so old. Katie Couric is not a comedienne, she is an evening news anchor and should rise to the level that she is paid. These comments are juvenile, she needs better writers.
Sarah Palin is old news! If I were Sarah, Katie Couric would be the least of my worries.

Sarah just needs to keep her mouth shut. Katie was making a freaking joke. I think how Tiny Fey, Charlie Gibson, and Katie Couric could make one person look bad, was an amazing stroke of greatness. Sarah Palin showed her own stupidy when she said she had foregin policy experience due to her closeness to Russia. So I guess that makes the Mayor of San Diego a policy expert because of the closeness to Mexico. HAHAHA!

I think Katie Couric ought to start acting like an unbiased member of the media at some point, rather than wearing her political affiliations on her sleeve. She's a perfect example of why the media in general has such a poor reputation – none of them report the news anymore! They all think that we're waiting with baited breath for their commentary and quite frankly, we're not. Go back to your job on morning tv Katie – we've had enough...

I think that Katie had quoted Tina Fey from her SNL skit.
I wonder how many of you would have a sense of humor after being ripped up one side and down the next by the media –out of fear that Sarah might actually become the VP. Of course we all know that it's easy to sit back and judge from the sidelines.

You know I am actually really bored with people saying, "just joking"– after they have just said or done something really rude–as an excuse to say cruel things to other's in hopes of hurting them. It's about time that we brought back RESPECT to the human race.

    Thank you!

    Peace out.

Hey Ms. Ann Reichle, you seem to be so adamant about our politicians being held to a level of accountability for their comments and actions. What about our press? We need go no further than the network news outfits, most of the cable news networks, and nearly all of our print news to see little or no accountability for truth! If Sarah Palin had been a candidate on the other side, and faced the kind of ridicule that she did, I can't imagine how the press would have gone after the GOP "mudslingers!" You and your party want it both ways, and when you don't get your way – all I hear is name calling and whining.

What I find interesting about Sarah Palin is that she is willing to throw rocks at everyone else, but when the spotlight is on her she cries for everyone to leave her alone and to repsect her privacy. Sorry, you can't have it both ways. Frankly, I am surprised that the media has not really focused on her double standard style of politics. I mean she challenged her opponents during the electoin on their patriotism and family values. But, her husband was a member of the secessionist party which would like to be removed from America altogether and her daughter ha a baby out of wedlock with her "Baby Daddy". Things that make you say "Hmmm". So Katie, go for it. As the saying goes, Sarah, "If you can't stand the heat....shoot a polar bear from a helicopter!"

Katie Couric should be commended for continuing to call attention to the fact that our standards for the behavior and intellect of our public officials have sunk incredibly low. Politicians should be held accountable for their comments and actions. The fact that Sarah Palin does not have the grace or ability to laugh at herself and a ridiculous comment that she made is just further proof of her lacking the qualifications to represent us. Katie Couric is a veteran reporter, unafraid to ask the tough questions, and a wonderful role model for women. GO KATIE!!!!

II believe Katie needs to stop asking Palin loaded questions. What magazines do you read? Whichever she says she reads would have been ridiculed of her being too conservative or leaning towards liberal anyway, but choosing the generic route to please all was spun by her and Letterman as a lack of reading and learning.
