I could listen to all 3 of Kris's songs on the radio. I could listen to 1 of 3 of Adam's. That kind of sums up why I voted for Kris.

I still like Danny. I think he is much deserve to be in the final 2. Paula Abudul's song choice for Danny cost his chance.

Kris, all the way... Adam is an entertainer... his voice is like nails on a chalk board... but it's his entertaining that gets the votes really... Kris has an amazing, fresh voice... that I could listen to over and over!!

I am with you on this. I think it should be Adam, but I am worried Kris will win.

Adam and Kris both have unique styles and voices, and if the show is about finding the best talent, then Adam is the clear winner. Kris is good, but Adam is great. Depending on the type of record Adam makes will determine just how huge his fan pool will be. If he goes the rocker road, I will not purchase his album. Kris will land on his feet nicely, and I will purchase his album regardless if he wins or not.

Is it my imagination but both guys looked tired. I would tilt the night in Adam's favor because of the Sam Cooke song and he was a little better on the final song. Both guys lacked energy, and neither knocked it out of the park. I think it was a combination of fatigue and nerves that brought their performances down. I wasn't overwhelmed by the show, but I am hoping for a Adam victory tomorrow.

I have to say that Adam pretty much sewed it up. Kris gave it a great try, but when it comes down to being able to sing different styles, I have to say Adam has the ability to do a wider variaty than kris.

Adam did not even get the lyrics correct on Mad World. It is not Worn out Spaces Try Places... Atleast he didn't squeal it out tonight...Voting for the musical talent over the theatrical talent.

Adam, duh! Good god, no comparison! Who's voice is more extravagant and original? Kris is just another Jack Johnson, American dream blow off that no one will remember in a year...Adam's gonna be a star kids.

It is defintiely not the run away that I was hoping for, being a huge Adam fan. However, I think Adam has what it takes. He has never backed down, he has never changed who he is and he is willing to take risks. That being said, I think Kris has a nice disposition and a sweet voice, so I know I can not rest comfortably tonight. I am Canadian and unfortunately can not vote, so all I can do is keep positive about it. I loved Adam's version of Mad World and although Simon hated the theatrics, I still feel that his performance was stronger and much more memorable. I loved his version of that beautiful Sam Cooke song. This has been an interesting year on Idol. I called it as an Adam and Danny finale, so really anything can happen.

I thought for sure that Kris would beat Adam, even though I love Adam... the first two songs were the best of the night (we can't ever count the awful Idol song, can we?) but Kris blew it when he phoned in the second song. Regardless, this is the best Idol top two ever.

Adam didn't shine tonite. But neither did Kris. Based on the season, it should be Adam to win it all. But don't forget...America votes!

I think they both can sing well, but you can find dozens who look and sound like Kris. Adam is unique. I guess it depends on what you prefer – apple pie or devil's food chocolate cake. For me, I'll take chocolate.

Both Kris and Adam are amazing talents. They are different and it will boil down to personal taste in music styles. I can't pick! I love them both!

Rounds 1 and 2 to Kris. Round 3 to Adam. I can't believe it took 3 people to write that junk of a final song! Anyway–great finale and I would be happy if either won it. They both deserve it.

If you base who won American Idol than it is easy choice. It's Adam, But if you base it on tonights performance than it is to close to call.

Adam is the better artist. Period. However, if Miley and Jonas are stars, that shows that Americans care less about singing ability than the pop star package that will look cute on a backpack. Adam is the only person on that show that I would actually go to a store and purchase a CD from.

American Idol Producers – You ruined the last night for me.

A Total cheesy last song that was geared toward an Adam win. Make them sing it tomorrow night when nothing is on the line for Gods sake. These guys can choose their own songs for almost the entire season and then on the most important night, 2 songs are chosen buy others?!

Why the heck do they make these guys sing the same awful song? Last year the Davids got to choose their last song, why not this year? terrible format change – just terrible. I feel really bad for Kris. I don't care who wins but taking about stacking the deck against one contestant.... You should be ashamed AI producers.

Kris is likable.

Adam had me with his unique, ethereal interpretation of "Ring of Fire". He lifted the lyrics above base lust into a complex realm of passions.

Win or not, I predict Adam will be an American music idol for more than one generation. In my own family, four generations are all gaga over him already! Two of those generations liken his charisma to a young Elvis Presley.

I think they both did well. I do. I agree that although Adam is favored to win, Kris could take the crown...what a sweet competition.

I actually enjoyed this Finale. I thought they both gave it their all.

Kris is very good and the only one who could give Adam a run for his money, but Adam does deserve to win!
His rendition of Change Is Gonna come was brilliant!
That said, the votes could very well go to Kris, because that is probably were the Danny fans' votes will go!

Adam is great for Broadway where you're supposed to sing a wide variety. If Kris can write songs or get with someone who does he's gonna be huge.

I think the contestants should pick their own songs in the final day. If they can blame anyone it would be themselves, not the judges. No Boundaries really didn't do much for me. Kris is a very talented singer, but Adam has the powerful voice that I love. I wish them both well!!!!

Loved Kris. As for Adam, I have two words: Taylor Hicks. I would never buy Adam's CD or buy his music on iTunes. I might watch him in a musical that was way, way off Broadway if the price was right (read cheap, under $20). Kris' voice and stage presence is much better. He's so at ease on the stage, like he belongs there while Adam is so forced and "look at me, look at me! I'm trained to do this!" I really hope Kris wins.

My husband and I have loved Adam from the first moment he took the stage at the beginning of the season. Not only does he have a most amazing voice, but his stage presence and the way he delivers a performance is unsurpassed on the American Idol stage. Adam is clearly the best contestant in A.I. history besides Carrie Underwood!

I like Kris, he sings not screams. If you want raw talent, pure in it's true form, then Kris wins it hands down. If you want the white male virsion of Patty Label then pick Adam. And yes, Adam has talent but I've seen all the screamers I can handle in a lifetime. It's time that talent wins over popularity. Just remember to last Idol, battle of the David's. But the David with the real talent, in the purest form didn't win, David another screamer won... lets get with the program people, Kris rocks..

I think the judges succeded in their unproffesional attempts over the past few weeks and might have said enough to sway the votes adam is talented but screams Kris did awesome tonight and has done arkansas proud hopefully the buyist judges dont have more influence than the performers themselves

I wish they had been able to pick their own songs- I still think Adam has been the best singer this season. It may work out for him to be the number two guy though. Either way he has won the season and will go far!

While Adam does have a great voice and probably a better range, I don't think anyone should count Kris out. Kris is a great singer and I think more Americans will relate better to Kris and enjoy his style of music.

Well based on tonight, and over the course of the show, I think Adam has proven himself a great entertainer. Win or lose. Kris has proven himself to be capable but I just don't hear enough of a unique sound that will make Kris stand out from all the other voices on the radio. Good luck to them both... I'm sure they'll do fine.

Both Adam and Kris were absolutely incredible tonight. They both are extremely talented. However, my vote goes for Kris. He appears to be more natural, unassuming, and less dramatic than Adam. He does not put on a show. He demonstrates his talent as a singer and a musician.

...somewhere along the line this season, I believe it was Simon who said that this "is a singing competition." This pretty much says it for me.....Kris sang.....Adam is good....but couldn't picture him singing for an hour or so, or on a cd, without reverting to Elvis, who has been there and done that, or hyped up with a lot of theatrics supporting him.

Adam sucks. He is not going to be a rock singer. No self-respecting person who would listen to AC/DC, etc would listen to this light-in-the-loafers Broadway castoff! If they did, they would get their a$$icked. Kind of like the kid on Beavis and Butthead who used to weat the Winger shirt!

I only vote for the last show. Why, do not like the way this is voted because we should only have a one vote limit. With that said.

I read the boards and people are voting for Kris because Adam has prior experience and Kriss does not so it is no fair. I do believe Kris was in a band so he has experience also just not the same kind as Adam. The rules say one can not have a record contract and both don't so that is not a reason to vote for Kriss and not vote for Adam.

I do not think Adam screams but does go high at times and that is just his style..

Adam always did the best and I do like good acting singers so I guess I will vote one time for Adam. I just hope he wins by one vote and it will be mine. for the rest of you vote as much as you can because both sides will.

They both looked incredibly tired, their performances on 2/3 lacked lustre but Adam's Change was the greatest moment EVER in Idol History. Second maybe only to Bo Bice's In Dreams when he sang A Cappella

Adam, for sheer consistent star studded performances and being able to sing almost better than the invincible Ted Neely....gets ALL of my votes.

That being said, if he has to sing that crap for his contract, give it to Kris...and let Adam sign with Slash and start selling out stadiums.

I have to say I was surpised that Kris made it to the top 2, but I really enjoyed him over the past few weeks. However, overall I think Adam will be the winner, he just has that range and can sing any song (except for that crap that it took 3 people to write)

i was underwhelmed by all of the performances tonight (except for mad world, but it was a redo so i dont count it!). that original song was so cheeseball, and wasnt up to par with what either contestant is capable of doing it was better suited for the less original david archulettas of the world.
i love adam, kris has grown on me, but i just have a hard time because when he sings he looks like rick moranis and i find it so distracting!

I really hope Kris wins! But, I think it is going to be Adam.

Adam seemed flat tonight. Kris was relaxed and great. Throughout the season, the only songs I found myself downloading were ones done by Kris.
Adam needs to go back to broadway – Kris is the one who is going to make an album that will actually have staying power.

Adam is the only choice, Kris was horrible on the last one, it was like he was screming it. You can tell how will win by who sings the AI song for that season, Adam sang it much better, it could be his song.

I think Simon Fuller is an idiot for picking the second song. And the last song... that is just a bad song by anyone who sings it. GO KRIS!!!!!!!!! adam is and has been the only singer on this shows history that has real talent. he gets music, he understands himself and knows his voice unlike so many of the contestants. he's seems like a humble and genuine fellow, who appreciates other musicians and a variety of sounds. sorry american idol, you haven't had talent like adam, you better be kissing his butt for that!!

Adam is the sure winner if you have watched from the very start of the competition. Kris has really stepped it up and I thought they both did very good tonight but I agree that it wasn't their best performances.

We are really in the presence of a new Elton John, Freddy Mercury, Meatloaf.......and sorry why not an Elvis.... Adam is truly the best singer/performer in the history of AI. Kris, is good, but nothing special, we'll hear his songs in the radio. Maybe!! ...But for Adam, people will fill up stadiums, and venues to see his shows...his concerts...

Hey Fellow Christians, god doesn't require you to vote for Kris. In fact Adam is god's creature also. And remember how some folks didn't like Jesus cause he was different and a rabble rouser and stuff. See, sort of the same with Adam. And why would the good lord give Adam such awsome performing talents far beyond the talent of thousands and thousands of other contestants – well the good lord didn't give him that talent to waste now did he. So fellow Christians just vote for Adam in good conscience and say your prayers before you go to bed. You'll be just fine.

I thought tonight's show and all the media hype surrounding it has definitely been slanted TOWARD Adam. You have celebrities rooting for...and predicting a Lambert victory tomorrow night. I think the judges were almost consoling in their comments to Kris. On the other hand, it was nothing but adoration and praise for Adam. They are two very different types of singers. Kris is a crooner...whose albums will have a broad appeal. Adam's talents belong more to the theatrical stage...broadway... Kris has an easy going style while Adam is more edgy. It all comes down to $$$$ in the music biz. I would expect that if Kris loses tomorrow night...you will see the Clay Aiken effect again. Aiken lost to Ruben Studdard but has been much more successful...and sold many more albums. Good luck Kris...no matter what the vote totals show...in the end...your star shines just a little more brightly.

Kris's best performance was his first and Adam was great on all three.
The Final song,not a great song by any means, was done so much better by Adam. Kris was straining to hit notes and even sounded at one point that he either forgot the words or was completely out of breath.

Adam Lambert is a screamer and a Sam Harris wanna be....anyone remember him from Star Search? Besides, we already have the Scissor Sisters too! If Adam wins he will be a flash in the pan like Fantasia and Ruben Studdard.

Kris is someone who can actually have a sustainable career which is what the competition is really about. He may not be the most dynamic performer, but he can sing and play multiple istruments, something Adam is not able to do.

Both are great singers but I can certainly see great things ahead for Kris in the future because of his style. And I can see Adam's style fading like yesterday's news. He style has just been done and re-done to death.

Round 1-Adam Round-2 Adam Round 3-Adam If I wanted to see Kris I could go to the local coffee shop, there are thousands out there just like him, sorry. Adam is a thousand times more talented.

For me this season has been Adam, Allison, and Danny as the 3 stand outs.

I feel that Adam and Allison were the most unique performers who each had a wonderful color and vocal control that only a select few performers ever achieve. Danny was just plain out a good singer, but probably not quite the standout artist that Adam and Allison were.

I will never understand why Simon was so negative towards Allison. As Kara said, he must be crazy.

Kris isnt really in the top 4 as far as his vocal ability but he must have a tremendous fan base of young girls who think he is cute. It cant be talent.

So based on that...anything is possible when the votes are counted but Adam deserves the win.

Kris is what American Idol is all about. He grew so much as an artist through out the season. Adam was the same week after long screaming week.

Love Kris! As far as the final song, I thought Kris sounded better no matter what the judges tried to convince us. They knew it to. That is why they tried to tell everyone that Adam was better when he was not. Even Simon knew Adam stunk on that song but he was too clever to say it "Adam, I won't judge you on THIS song, I will judge you on the season!" That translates into You were awful on this song but we the judges want Adam to win. It makes me sick. I think the people of America will speak tomorrow night and pick the person who is truly deserving of the title of the American Idol. A small town boy without professional music experience with small town values and a great radio friendly voice. Vote for Kris!

Kris is a nice looking, congenial, very good singer; Adam Lambert, on the other hand, is simply brilliant – he's got the "it", the "wow" factor – exceptional voice, amazing talent (most of the songs he chose to sing he made his own), and the look. That look – awesome; unabashedly confident and comfortable with who he is, however out there some may think him to be. America – this is just the beginning of Adam Lambert's climb. He's so powerful and wonderful. Good luck to both.

Adam grabs my (and my family's) attention and keeps it. He gives us energy...makes us feel alive. And I love that he came out the way he likes to look – goth with eyeliner and nail polish. This is the real Adam and I love it.

I think Adam will win...the "No Boundaries" song didn't do either of them any favors.

Kris is by far the better artist. He plays multiple instruments and doesn't have to depend on make-up, costumes, and fog machines to make his performances relevant. The sad part is that when Adam isn't screaming he can actually sing.

Not sure why Adam feels compelled to scream the high note in every song he sings. I could listen to 10 songs on an album by Kris...couldn't do that with Adam. Adam is talented..but too dramatic for my taste.

Why do they still have that awful sappy song at the end of every season? The song may have been bad to begin with, but Kris made it sound even worse. That was painful to watch.

Kris pulled off all three songs really well. A++++ for Kris! Adam pulled off one and a half songs. Sorry, I did not love Adam's version of the great "Change is going to come"! I love that song and Adam, it was interesting but not good enough. Kris even pulled off that terrible song by Cara D. and friends. Even I can't hold that one against Adam. It was a bad song al the way, but Kris still managed to work his magic on it. Good luck Kris!

Adam will be an international star. I work for a major oil company and everyone I work with and e-mail on a daily basis in the UK, Middle East, Australia, Kuala Lumpur, the guys in Moscow and Beijing are all crazy about Adam. Most of them get up in the middle of the night to watch live feed on their computers. Forgot Canada also is crazy about Adam and all of my co-workers in Latin America, especially Mexico. Vote Vote, I am voting and typing at the same time!!

That screaming from Adam will not translate well on the radio. I prefer to hear finger nail on the chalk board – at least it doesn't last as long.

I finally figured it out! I thought my cat was getting caught in the air duct every tuesday night. I found out it was Adam singing. Whew, that's a relief.

I have never been an Adam fan. Too theatrical and over the top for me. He would be great on stage, but radio...I'm not sure. Kris will definitely be getting my vote!

Kris Won, Hands Down. Adam is a screamer, he sings half the song the screams the other half. His own parents even admitted it. To much screaming and not enough singing. Kris is not a smooth singer and doesn't have the range needed to carry him to the radio circuit where he will be judged against many, many current artists. He is forgettable and needs a lot more training before he can be considered a professional singer. He may have got by on AI with the school boy charm but in the real world out there he won't sell originality like Adam can! Kris cannot sell records. The people who support Kris now are casting FREE votes but will not spend $$$ to buy his records. Kris lacks imagination and creativity. Adam is overflowing with that! Adam will go the route of Jennifer Hudson – a class act through and through!! Go Adam!!

Honestly i didnt like either one of the performances from the last song that was a teriable song no matter who sings it...I am a Kris fan though. Adam is a Great singer just not my type though. they both deserve it either way!!!!

Adam. Sure, he screeches a lot, but at least he has some originality going for him. Kris has one mode: acoustic guitar squak fest.

Kris was horrible in a horrible song. He was just awful and I like him. And if I want to base it on a season as Kara suggested, I would pick Adam. I thought Adam won but I really think he needs to learn restraint. It might feel good but it doesn't serve the song when he pushes like he did on "A Change ..." and "One." I think Kris will win because he's non-threatening and a nice guy with a wife. Doesn't matter – Adam will be huge and when he learns how to handle his voice, he will be great.

Very anti-climatic with the lame song at the ending. Bad lyrics, bad melody=bad performances. The final two, at least, were able to make it sound decent. Hopefully, people will vote on what happened all season, as opposed to the anti-finale. Adam clearly should be the Idol.

Those who want Kris simply put – have absolutely no knowledge of music, singing or talent. Kris is cute, has a nice voice, would be great at a sophisticated coffee house or maybe making one album. You cannot compare the star quality, the vocals, the movement, the look, the charisma that Adam – this superstar – has. He will sell millions of albums and I'm already waiting on baited breath for his first concert tour. Plus, he's a gentle soul, humble, kind, genuine, a rare mix with such earthy sexuality. He literally drives me crazy, insane.

I think the majority of Danny voters will vote for Kris. It will be very close.

I like them both, but I would seriously never buy and Adam album. The theatrical stuff would get old quick.

I would realistically listen to Kris' music almost any time of the day, so I'd buy his Album. I hope he puts one out soon.

HOPE ADAM WINS! He has been a consistently great performer week after week. Adam is definitely the better singer. Wish it had been an Adam/Allison finale. The No Boundaries song is awful and both Adam & Kris struggled with that horrible song.

It really doesn't matter whether Adam wins or not, he has secured a very long career for himself in music and I bet we will be seeing him on Broadway someday too. Kris, he sings nice, looks like a sweet guy, but he is no match for Adams plethora of talent.

I liked Adam's first song (because not every song needs the screaming...only some of them.) However, I voted Kris overall. If Adam had occasionally laid-off the screaming and the tongue throughout the season, I would've liked him a little more.

I attended an idol party tonight. Many of the people were Danny fans and were now voting for Kris. The final vote tally was Kris-17 and Adam-3. I think Adam may be in trouble tomorrow night.

Adam has performed at different levels and has clearly shown that he is a diverse singer as well as entertainer. Kris is a good singer but doesn't have the talent that Adam has...so hopefully Adam will win and deserves to based on his week in and week out performances.

ADAM! ADAM! ADAM! I LOVE me some Adam! Although I loved Chris' first two songs tonight, Adam is just too wonderful ALL the time!

The past week must have been hell for both of them because they both looked exhausted. Secondly, if I knew I had to sing a song on the final night of my competition(the one that Kara wrote) I would be hoping the song would be pulled at the last moment. It was a terrible choice and the lyrics were rediculous. At least the song that David Cook made his own last season ("The Time of MY Life") gave you a tear in the eye and was a hit on the charts. There are a certain number of people that will not vote for Adam because of his glam and sexual ambiguity and innuendos..which is totally insane because he DOES have talent. It is going to be hard to pigeon hole him in a contract and make him sing the songs he's handed. He is way too independent for that. You could get by giving Kris a contract that dictates more toward his genre...he is a favorite with the ladies event though he is married..My prediction is that Kris could take it in a very close race..They will both do well and this is one of the most talented groups that we have seen in allot of the seasons. Good luck to both contestants..

I think it was obvious that it would come down to Adam and Kris. Who else could possibly have been Adam's contender? However, as charming and John Denverish as Kris is.........Adam is a star. He knows how to take over a stage and hold (and thrill) an audience. Kris is cuddly, but Adam is AWESOME.

Adam. Sorry, Kris. It's just that Adam reminds me of my all-time Idol... Cher. Adam is the male Cher in my opinion. Adam is emotive, reaches high AND low notes (when he wants to)... all four judges got it right this season. Adam has been at the top of his game ALL season. In my opinion, not ONE bad week. Kris, he's cute (really adorable, boy-next-doorish)... but when he sings he's nowhere near as emotive as Adam. I don't feel he puts his heart into all of his songs. When Adam sings, it's like he is living, and breathing the lyrics and the music. Like he means what he sings. I voted Adam 30 times. I hope it was enough. Well, I'm going to vote more, now.

There's no denying that Adam has a killer voice, but Kris has a great voice too. As talented as Adam is, I frankly got tired of the Steven-Tyler-ish screaming. Kris, on the other hand, kept my attention continually. I'm voting according to who I think I could sit through a 2-hour concert and come away entertained. Adam would frankly wear me out. I would totally enjoy a Kris concert from start to finish. Kris has my vote(s).

Adam definately has talent, but do I want to hear his voice on the radio? Not really. He's much more suited for theatre or a Vegas show. He vocals are powerful but it's all projection. I don't feel any emotion from his singing. Kris, on the other hand has a pleasing voice. You can hear the lyrics coming from deep down and know it's honest. The song they both sang by Kara, well I can imagine hearing Kris' version on the radio but not Adams. I'd buy a Kris Allen CD but highly doubt I'd spend money on one by Adam.

I was expecting Adam to blow away Kris since he has been hyped up as the professional musical performer and Kris is just a newbie. But I think Kris took 2 out of 3 songs. Too bad he was stuck trying to sing that hideous Kara creation.

I have watched all the American Idol seasons in the past, and I must say this is the first time I am torn between two very telented performers. They are both so good, I feel there should be a dual American Idol award.

I would say Kris for song 1 and possibly 2, more of a tie for me. 3rd was geared to Adams voice more and was a little unfair. still think Kris is much more marketable than Adam. It's all about who can make the most money...and for the long haul, that is Adam. Now Adam won't be broken hearted if he doesn't win America's popular vote because if he does he will be chained in their iron clad contract for a year...and you can bet he could so easily do much better elsewhere. i get so tired of people saying Adam was screaming when he was singing on key in his high register. He has incredible range and is clearly the better singer. Kris is very sweet, but completely forgettable. I vote for Adam all the way.

Adam is a textbook broadway singer, he will follow the same path as his buddy Clay Aiken. Kris is the more talented all-around musician, the guy is a solid instrumentalist and vocalist, plus he can write/compose music, something that seems lost with a majority of the pop stars who buy their music off the mass market.

My bets are on Kris for winning the vote. I think he'll pick up a majority of Danny's votes which will ultimately give him a landslide win.

If you've heard SCREECH once, you've heard them all.. Trust me, you hear one of his songs and you'll skip right through the rest of the album because every song sounds the same high pitched screechy mess... VOTE FOR KRIS....

This whole season has been slanted toward Lambert. His screeching got old after the first week for me. And to say he has versatility and can sing anything is laughable. He can sing anything that allows him to screech at some point.

I'm rooting for Kris Allen – absolutely. If Kris records an album I will buy it. If Adam records an album it's unlikely I'll even listen to the singles on the radio. He seems like a nice enough guy, but enough with the Broadway wailing and theatricals on practically every song.

The show was wonderful, just love to hear the talent. All season, the different levels of talent.
Adam is truly a performer, who has had training, and really does have a voice. Even if the screaming does get to you......did to me !
However, I am partial to Kris, because he really does remind me of "All American", and is someone, to look to as an "Idol," for young and old. I love his voice, and his artistic talent, the way he projects his voice, and the artist's song, that he is singing.
When I watch the show all season, this is what I am looking at,- just what the title advertises "American Idol",.
I think of the everyday, next to you guy, who has this hidden talent, and that he decides to take a "big" chance on it, expose himself, as well as his family, and most of all, his self confidence and his humility. To put yourself out there, in front of millions, without any real previous public exposure, and sing your heart out, and compete with people who have been doing this for years, to me, is a real Idol . This is what America needs, to give an example to all, who have dreams, and will go for it, with the support of friends, family, and the American public. In these troubled times, I think that this show is amazing, because it gives you great hope, and while listening to these performers, you get a lump in your throat, or tears in your eyes, because it is beyond compare, that there are still "real" things in this world, that we can get excited about, and turn to that channel every week, to watch and see what these people will "pipe" out to us.
For me, I always feel a great sense of hope, and I am grateful, and congratulate this show, and it's producers, and of course the people who bring their great talent to us.

I think that Adam was "indulgent" and the whole Mad World performance was too Broadway-ish. I think that the mist and the trenchcoat were a bit over the top. I think Kris was screwed when Simon Fuller gave him "What's Goin' On" because there's only so much you can do with that particular song and that particular type of song. I think Kris did the best that could be done with it without having it sound like the original and I thought it was great. The finale doesn't have to be over the top, it just has to be something that stands out and I think Kris stood out by being himself and not resorting to having to add theatrics. I hope he pulls it off and I think I've seen enough of Adam's creepy tongue and heard enough of that same weekly screech to last me til next season. GO KRIS!!!

Kris definitely has more long-run appeal. Have all the Adam fans forgotten about that horrendous Ring of Fire performance? That has got to be one of the top three worst American Idol performances EVER, and probably ranks as the Number 1 Worst. I can't believe he wasn't voted off that week. I'm kinda glad he wasn't, because he was entertaining, but as I said earlier, I couldn't sit through a Screamin' Adam concert. I could, however, listen to Kris Allen for hours and hours. Adam is very entertaining! His true call, I feel, is theater and or Rock/ metal soloist. I would go see Adam IF it were theater!
Kris has totally improved from the beginning of this contest! I would buy his CD and even go see him preform in concert.
I also believe that Allison and Adam could make a song or two as they were really good together.
The tour will be in Chicago and that will be a show to attend.

You obviously do not know what talent is. Taylor HIcks my feet....Adam smokes Taylor's doors and Taylor is not even in Adam's league. What kind of musical training do you have...Obviously none....I saw Taylor in person and I had a nice nap during the performance. Adam had me on my feet and cheering during his. OMG you must have been raised in a nunnery. What an insult to compare Adam to Taylor.

In the seven seasons I've been watching, I have never picked the winner. So my vote may be the "kiss of death". Overall, I was very disappointed with the season compared to season 7. I don't "like" the bulk of season 8 contenders. Every time Adam performed, with Ring of Fire being the exception, I was awed. He's amazing. Kris was truly a dark horse. The early weeks he very "meh" (versus Sarver, who was "blech"). These last few weeks, Kris has exploded – screw Simon, his 2nd song tonight was better that Marvin's. I also don't like the fact that the gay bashing has started for Adam. It's a cheap shot.

You'll be listening to them on 2 different stations but they will both be heard from. I think Adam should win...but I voted for Kris. The judges dis'ed him at the end...."thanks for coming".

Kris rocked!! Adam has an amazing voice but i can only listen to him for a few minutes. He sounds like Mariah Carey and I can only stand so much of her voice. Kris has such a soulful voice and really changes things up to make them current.

Anyone who says Kris has a better voice is ill-informed about the world of music. Not only is Adam's voice clearer and purer, he has much more range, bravado, and intensity. Kris has a great pop voice, but in sheer volume and range he can't compare.

And I'm tired of hearing this "Adam is a screamer" nonsense. He is SHRILLING incredibly high notes, he is not screaming death metal style. If pro-Kris people weren't so heavily biased they could concede that even without the high notes that are shrilled by Adam, which are way beyond any range of the other contestants, he STILL has a far greater range than Kris in all other registers- see Mad World.

Kris is good. But Adam is insane. Anyone who cannot concede that and writes him off as a "screamer" is merely refusing to see the voice, whether that be because of his sexuality, his looks, or (most likely for every single girl voting for Kris) Kris' looks.

Hold on a minute. What was that for Kris' last performance? Am I seriously supposed to believe that Kris practiced that in that key and said yeah, I like this. It was way too high for him. He is way too musical to make that blunder. And why isn't it transposed to a better key for him? Or into his own style? Something's up. No fair.

I think both did really well. I think based on tonight's performance and consistency all throughout the competition, Adam should win. He is very entertaining to watch, and he has the musical chops as well. I dont know why the judges dont like "theatrical" – isn't a concert as much about theatrics as it is about vocals? Why do artists like Madonna, Janet Jackson, and others spend a lot of time on conceptualizing their shows if they didnt want to entertain? If that's not the case then maybe it is enough to sit on the stage and sing and be b-o-r-i-n-g.

Next year they should pick a different average person judge the singing. I think it will be more valuable and refreshing for the contestants to hear what the public thinks.

Adam could win and, to be honest, I hope he does. I only say this because I am a Kris fan and, let's be honest, there aren't many American Idol winners that have gone on to illustrious careers. The exceptions are Carrie Underwood (my true Idol) and Kelly Clarkson, the others have been not even near as successful. I think Adam should win, but I have been pretty interested in the fact that Kris has held on for this long. My wife keeps telling me he keeps getting better and better every show, but I really don't see it to be honest.

It's a tie in so many ways...idol should have Kris and Adam sing together – sort of like Sonny and Cher or Natalie and Nat King Cole. I vote for Kris because I would go to a music venue to see him. Adam is great and belongs in a theater, I would probably buy tickets for a good show with him singing (Elvis/Liberace is back!).

The show is pathetically "scripted" for the producers and judges' benefit. The judges probably pow wow before the finale and decide who is going to say what more or less in order to sway votes but not appear "pushy." The finale song written by that horrible Kara judge was just very uninspiring. They should let the contestants pick the finale songs rather than choose songs to the producers and judges likings. I would not be suprised that they purposely made Kris sing in a higher key just so he would sound strained and less talented.

Kris Allen was the best. Adam is good too but he will end up like some of the other winners.......the ones you don't hear much of anymore. Lots of fans during the show but very few to follow and buy his music. It would be in his best interest to come in second so it won't be such a let down in a year or two. If Adam does win, Kris will still do better in the real world after the show.

I'm guessing that anyone who thinks Adam is "too theatrical" hasn't been to a rock concert – rock is all theatrics. That's part of what makes it so much fun. Kris seems really nice and has a good voice – but an international star? Not so much.

Go Adam! You are the true American Idol. Kris is a nice guy, good voice but not much range. Adam on the other hand – WOW. People, keep voting for Adam. He is the best contestant in years.

All I have to say is Class. Class. Class.
I have been a fan of both of them (and Allison!) for most of the season (Kris was a late comer for me, but once he was there, yeah!).
They have both handled themselves with grace under pressure. The juxtaposition was all in their styles, not in their character. I don't care what anyone else says. What I've seen of their personality and heart makes either one of them worthy of the title.

Lets face it folks, Adam is by far an extremely talanted singer that can vurtually hit any note on the spectrum. Add up his talant along with his carisma on stage and you can't compare him with Kris. Kris is a talanted singer and a wonderful artist but when push comes to shove Adam holds the winners key in the final outcome.

The show is designed to find a pop singer. For me, while Adam's vocal range and volume are impressive, I found Kris' performances more relatable. Adam is too Vegas for me. If I'm in Pittsburgh or Kansas City, Atlanta or Denver, I think I'm more likely to go to a Kris concert than and Adam show. Kris is a pop singer, Adam is a stage singer, and I think (hope) that most music consumers will agree. Kris should win.

Im voting for Kris. Adam can sing but hes not that exceptional in creativity as Kris has been.

Kris by far. He's multi-talented with the voice, the piano and the guitar. Adam can wear a long coat and walk down stairs... (which I give him credit for b/c I would definitely fall). They both seem like really nice guys, but I just find Kris mesmerizing, He can simply stand there with a guitar or sit at the piano and put on an awesome performance. Adam apparently needs stage effects and Revlon.

Adam is definitely the winner here. His voice, his presence, his style....is awesome. A rare find, his talent surpasses Kris's by a long shot.

I think overall Kris should win. Both are good singers, and arrangers, but Kris can also play guitar and (some) piano.

The big thing for me is watching the other musicians when they perform with each- the guys that play with Kris are really enjoying themselves! Very important if you want to get along with people you'll be touring with.

I think that after the first song by both, the whole show was kinda boring. And I don't know who told Kara that song was good, but if you listen to the Miley Cyrus song The Climb, it sounds like a total ripoff.
What a joke. Can you imagine having to listen to that crap on the radio being sung by anybody?

Prefer Kris...Adam is too dramatic and is typical Broadway. Adam sounds like so many others...Kris has an unique sound to his voice.

Where are you tonight Allison, the new Janis Joplin? I found the show deadly boring, and Kara the nail in its coffin. What's up with that? She's awful! Screeching per Axl Rose is what Adam is mostly about. Kris is more nuanced. Both of them should lose. Is that possible? I'm not voting. I voted two hundred times for Allison and she was booted off. Blah.

I thought Ring of Fire was really cool – very very different. Unexpected. I like that. No other would take that chance. So for that – My vote goes to Adam. Way to go.

I am not even voting tonight. Both deserve to win, and I am not partial anymore. Both did great. Adam was great all season, and Kris just kept getting better and better and has the musical versatility, guitar and piano and Adam doesn't, but Adam has the theatrics which Kris doesn't, so a total toss up, and whoever wins will be fine with me. Both have a career now. Even Hokey Gokey, and am sure Matt and Allison have it made also. Good job to all the top finalists. You all deserve success.

A part of me feels that Kris is gonna make it. But with Adam's stage show experience, he does have a chance of winning. This year's season has the best talent! It gets better every year!

It wasn't even a contest. Kris had trouble reaching some of the notes in the songs and sounds the same on every song. Adam can sing anything and everything. He's the whole package. He's awesome!!!!! I hope he wins this thing.

Adam! Kris is very good but Adam is breathtakingly awesome. I'll buy the records of both of them. But what was with the awful Kara song they were forced to sing? it would have been far more fair to have them each pick their own songs that they had yet to sing.

I loved Paula saying Adam is "Iconic" because he is. Win or lose, we watched a true star being born this season. He is so unique. With his first note, you'll know it is Adam Lambert singing. Then to get to actually watch this cutie sing...what a treat. Adam, I will buy your first cd and all the other's you make. You've made a fan of me for life. I, for one, am going to miss seeing you each week. Thank you for the "escape" from the real world. You really took AI to another level. Thank you to AI for bringing this talent to the world. I'm sorry . . . but I saw pictures of Adam kissing dudes today on Fox News . . . and he's no American Idol to me! He's one sick puppy. Kris has the values I want to see in an American Idol. Yes . . . I know many will say it's a "singing talent" contest. But that's really not true and everyone knows it. Looks, dance, performance, style, behavior, friendliness, etc., it's all being evaluated. And those images just plain turned my stomach. So, my vote/s go to Kris!

hey Susie – you're a freaking idiot! anyone who wants Kris doesn't know music? I'm forty something and have been going to concerts since I was 13. I have honestly seen EVERY rock band out there. Even had the privilege of meeting Springsteen, the guys from Foghat, Van Halen, YES, met Ozzie and just a couple of years ago got to hang with Collective Soul after a show. This year alone I saw Shinedown a few times and already have tixs for Dave Matthews, STP, Live, Def Leppard, Greenday, Aerosmith, Creed & U2. I think I KNOW music.

I'll tell you what, Adam is a fake rocker wanna be. Yes, he has incredible range and can hit those INCREDIBLE HIGH notes that sound like a cat in heat...but dude, a rocker he ain't! At least Kris has talent..piano, guitar. Maybe I wouldn't go see him live, but I would definitely listen to his music when I want to hear some cool mellow stuff. Here's to America getting it right.

I'm just not wild about either one of them. They are so different. I am actually, however, much more interested in what Kris Allen will do next than Adam Lambert. I think Adam doesn't yet understand that if you keep pulling out all the stops, there are quickly no more surprises. And I think that Kris has great potential for subtlety. The Kelly/Justin, Ruben/Clay, Fantasia/Diana seasons had so much charm... now the show has become a parody of itself. Sad.

All around I think its Adam. Kris may have it on looks (so he gets the little girls' vote), but for talent, I think its Adam. Been voting steadily since 9 PM now. two phones. I'm 53 years old and never thought I'd find myself voting like this.

I seriously suspect that if by a fluke (remember Ruben v. Clay?) Kris gets the top, Adam has nothing to worry about (I suspect Simon's already hovering with a contract of his own).

Conversely, if its Adam over Kris, I don't think Kris has much to worry about either.

My vote comes down to one simple thing: Who have I had to mute in the past, and who have I not? Adam does not pass the mute test – I've hit the button on his performances more than once, especially when he launches into the stratosphere toward the end for no reason at all. Kris all the way.

Of all the contestants Kris Allen is the most commerciable. I see a lot of people buying his records. As for Adam he is just so dramatic and I dont see him to be selling a lot of records.

Adam was AMAZING tonight. That last song wasn't a great song for either of them. If enough people refuse to vote for someone gay (which is shockingly sad and ignorant in this day and age) Kris has a shot – but you know what – losing may be the best thing for Adam – he won't have to release that lame song as his first single and people will rally behind him more than ever for having lost – so while he is clearly the winner, he may lose.

My votes go to the artist with the big, powerful voice.....and yes, you kris allen fans know it isn't him although he tried to reach those high notes tonight but to no avail.....Allison/Adam show would have been more entertaining....Kris is a mediocre performer....switched to the ballgame when he came on...but I did have it on dvr and watched again after the game....he still hasn't amazed me....Adam can sing anything.....even Adam has left a mark on all the Adam haters...face it...he is a very memorable performer....one you will never forget....Adam Lambert all the way....

Dear "Me"

You're using Adam's background to smear him as if he's done something unsual. Stop setting up false premises as if this is some new wrinkle, if you think this is the first time a "Professional" (not a dirty word) has been in the contest, you are sorely mistaken.

For about half of the show's life the rule is simply this, a contestant cannot currently be under contract, but may have had recording contracts in the past. It has been this way since they raised the age limit on contestants as well. Plenty of them had contracts before, Latoya London and Taylor Hicks both come to mind in that category.

Adam is doing nothing wrong, is acting within the rules, as did Latoya (who I liked a lot and who was eliminated) and Taylor (who I detest to this day and who won the top slot).

So take your Lambert smear campaign back to wherever you come from.

Seriously people.....Adam screeches in almost all of his songs. It is overkill and all of his songs are overdone every single week. As a choir director, it is a no brainer in the world of music. Kris all the way. What a natural, clear, pure voice.....perfect for this SINGING competition!

And I agree with what a lot of people have said so far, the producers really stacked the deck against Kris. The Sam Cook song was such a powerful song, whereas Marvin Gaye's was more relaxed and laid back. I don't think the judges should have slighted Kris for the producers' choice. And that last song???? Oh good grief.

Adam was better tonight but Kris has been the best throughout the season. Whether he wins or not, Kris Allen will be very famous in the near future. He has my vote.

I have never voted before but tonight I am voting for Adam. I just want to see the right thing happen tomorrow. Adam should clearly win. Close-minded people will do their best to stop it. I hope good wins over..the other guy.

I don't care for Adam as a singer; I think he's entertaining and he's definitely Vegas material. I did like Adam's first song but Kris was better on the first two songs than Adam. Adam did better than Kris on the third song but I would have never had Kris do that song. I also think it was a gross mistake for American Idol finale based on anything but what the finalists choose for all three songs. Again, to reach this point it should be about song choices they make as artists not what someone else chooses for them.

Kris was really bland tonight, not one of his performances equaled Adam. It was hard to listen to his last song, it was that bad. Kris, although he has had a few decent performances, has proven to be rather one dimensional.

Adam has been by far the most consistent and best performer throughout the competition. The ratings have been high as people look forward to see Adam. Adam on the other hand can do any type of song and knocks it out of the park! I've rarely voted over the years, but this time he's got my vote.

Is it just me? I don't like it when Adam goes into that "high register" voice in his songs. I look at a potential winner and ask "Would I buy his/her cd". I could see myself buying a cd by Kris, but not Adam. I'm one of those that think Adam is best suited for Broadway. I know a great many people feel differently, but that's my opinion.

Definitely biased by location – everyone here knows Chris or a member of his family. However, if I had to watch Adam for one more week – tongue hanging out screaming, I think I would have to find a new show. Tonight's show format left much to be desired, the judges were a bit over the top with their heavy lean on Adam as the winner, but ....'Ain't No Sunshine' was the remarkable highlight. That said, I wish I was as good with the eyeliner as Adam! I predict Chris by 5 million.

After 2,5 hrs, I only got 43 votes in for Adam. Rest of the time I got a busy signal, or a "Your call did not go through" or "it is now necessary to dial an area code and a seven digit number". AI had the same problem with the Clay-Ruben finale.

I have watched American Idol since its inception. Great wholesome family television in an ocean of raunchiness. I am so proud of America for supporting this type of show.

However, I have never voted for a contestant. Tonight I voted – for Adam. One of the judges used the perfect word to describe him – "Iconic". I know in my gut that I am watching history in the making in Adam...

Have tried voting for Adam since 9 pm. The lines are busy, I may have gotten through 20 times. I LOVE Adam!!!

I like Kris and can see him singing in a nice little club somewhere. Adam has more star power than even most of the celebrity singers who have been on Idol this season. I think he is the most all around outstanding singer they have had on any season of Idol. But, I think he needs every vote because of the Christian music fans who supported Danny but now will vote for Kris. Strange to me that they have almost hidden Kris's wife and family .. always showing his mom and dad.. they did not want all the little girls to know that he is a mature man with a wife and family, and not waiting to meet them and elope on a great white horse. Adam was powerful and head and shoulders better than Kris tonight, although I did love Kris' first song. In the second song, there is no way people could think Adam was screaming. There is so much tone in that and he is not straining. He has amazing vocal control.

I saw an article in a NY paper today that I found really offensive...the premise of the story was that the Adam/Kris battle was blue-state/red-state, a battle of liberal Democrats against conservative, church-going Republicans. Besides being a flimsy, made-up concept for an article, it was insulting to every fan of the show. And btw, I am a liberal, left-wing Democrat and I voted for Kris. Adam is fun and fabulous and I would watch him on stage any day, or fronting a band, but Kris is a real musician with a soulful, appealing voice and I would buy his cds. Enough said.

I think Kris is the more talented musician as far as being able to play different instruments, sing, and probably compose different songs.

No doubt Adam Lambert is talented though. He has amazing range, but honestly, he sounds like a girl a lot of times. I mean that's just his voice so not totally knocking him, just the truth.

In the end, Kris Allen will probably make more listenable records. I just can't hear Lambert translating too well to radio or to the everyday listeners Ipods, CD players, etc.

But in my final assessment. I think neither is bound for any greater stardom then Kelly Clarkson, Underwood, Daughtry, etc. I think the show is losing it's luster. There's so many flaws too the process and it's based more on a perception then a reality. We used to think we were witnessing these singing stars coming from nowhere. Fact is, most of those who finish in the top 5 are established musicians in the music community. Not all, but most. There are hundreds of musicians out there as talented if not more talented then Kris Allen and Adam Lambert, but are grinding through the natural process of forming bands, building fan-bases, and building respect in the music community rather then vying for the quick fix and instant fame that American Idol proves to those who make it far enough.

Maybe in the long run Lambert and Allen will prove to be worth the hype, but there's something to the whole show and process that rings hollow to me. A certain fakeness to it all...this perception that we are watching these people be discovered is what the show is all about, and in some sense we are watching them be discovered. But it bothers me that people get so caught up in these final contestants when there is some guy as talented out in Arizona, New York, Indiana, etc. grinding it out the way most singers and musicians have had to in the past yet by writing great songs, forming a loyal fan base, and having his music spread by word of mouth....rather then just instantly becoming famous through a show based on karaoke. Again, I still watch American Idol occasionaly...I love music, and love watching the talented singers. But I'm starting to become disenchanted with show because I think it lacks soul/depth at the core.

Adam, Kris and Allison have been my favorites all season. So now I must pick between two of them and I choose Kris. Kris has the all around style and talent that I am drawn to the most. What sealed the deal for Kris was the last song both of them had to sing "No Boundries" . Adam sang the song beautifully but something was missing. Whereas Kris sang the song in a way that you could actually hear the heartfelt feelings. I expected Adam to blow Kris away on that song but to my surprise he did not. Anyway, I'll be happy with who ever wins. They both are very talented in differway ways and everyone needs to give both of them the utmost respect and recognition they both deserve.

I'm not sure why or how Kris made it to the top two. I think he's talented, but not that talented. I wouldn't buy his albums or listen to him on the radio, I just don't think his songs are that great. Everyone likes different music, so to each their own I guess.

Adam and Kris remind me of Elvis and Pat Boone...They were both good, but totaly different in everyway...I liked them both, but Elvis always had the energy ,style and carisma.......

Didn't I see Chris in a bar band the other night? That kind of sums up my thoughts on Chris. He does have some talent, but it kind of blends in with every singer-want-a-be. He did a good job tonight, but i really don't think I would buy his music. Adam is unique. His voice pentetrates your heart when he sings. His flawless performances and total ownership of the songs make him the obvious choice. You can tell the judges believe he is the next winner. I say vote for Adam. If he loses he will become the next Clay Aiken. Clay kicked Ruebens butt in after Idols sales and entertainment talent. Adam will be a winner either way. I would definately buy his music.

I will say this. Adam and Kris both have artistic qualities as well as good vocal capabilities.

The thing for me that sets them apart at least from a TV audio mix perspective is Adam sounds VERY one dimensional monochromatic the voice is even and has been trained well. the tongue is flat jaw unhinged for the high & LOUD phrases.

Kris on the other hand has many hues of color to the sound. He shades words and shapes phrases like a very intuitive actor. And the ending to his songs are not predictable.

Whereas Adam's High sustained note blairing, camera so tight I can see the veins that run in the soft palette, literally, every single week. The most real sincerity was the moment he sang "Whole Lot of Love".

Simon Fuller proved to me who the better artist is by his song selection for each. He chose pieces from the SOUL era, which proves my point. Soul is internal. The music and lyric is an outward display of the SOUL. Nothing over-killed but deep with an undercurrent of wisdom.

Let me be on record as saying i do not vote. nor will I vote. This is my opinion and it REALLY boils down to APPLES and ORANGES.
My final comment is this. One is great at the interview and a GREAT performer. The other is a GREAT ARTIST. And there IS a Difference.

Based on the final song..... Kris. Even though it was painfully out of his range, I could "hear" it on the radio. I did not like Adam's version of the song.

I think that if he never mentioned to them that he was into theatrics, it wouldnt be somethin others could feed off of. The band Adam was in before idol was pretty good.. i'm sure he'll know how to manage mainstream.

Kris seems like a sweet person and has a nice smile. I wish him well, but if he wins over Adam ...then there is seriously "something very wrong" somewhere. If you didn't vote for Adam, you must be tone deaf? OMG, in my opinion, this wasn't even a contest.

Regardless who wins, I hope neither one gets stuck having to record that mess Kara helped write! Otherwise I really don't care who wins, as they will both have promising careers, each with their own very different following. Kris has a nice voice but he is forgettable....Adam is not forgettable. He should win.

Kris was awful on that last song, he was struggling to sing it. When he finished that song, there was a short applause for it. Even the audience in the theater realized, that he wasn't that good. I like Kris, but I am not going to buy his cd, because there are already a number of guys just like him, who are a little bit better.

it comes down to this for me and those i know - who's cd will you buy? who can you listen to while taking a long drive or during a casual dinner? KRIS is the only one. i can already hear him on the radio, on many stations, where as Adam is best suited for Broadway or the only rock station on the radio. plus, Kris' range and versatility is amazing. raw talent. The last song choice for both artist really sucked. I waited all season for the last song which sounded like 2 old ladies singing at the mardi gra.

American Idol is SO worth it because of the laughter that ensues when I read your blog. You are hilarious! With that said - I do agree with you. My mamma didn't raise no fool either. Kris is a very good singer, guitar player, and musician. It's just that he is not exciting. Adam is a better singer, but really knows to entertain. Kris is missing that. Adam will be around in 5 years. Kris will make one record and lots of money, but nothing more.

It's stupid for people to pick on either of these boys. They're both good even if you don't like them. People need to learn the difference between quality and taste–i.e. some people like chocolate, some vanilla, but one isn't necessarily better than the other.

Adam has flash, and he knows how to scream, but after a while that kind of wears thin for me. Kris has depth, and sincerity, he makes me feel what he is singing. I get goosebumps when I listen to his songs. Also, his are the songs I keep hearing in my head the next day. I hope he wins. Adam will surely have a career either way as a new kind of heavy metal rocker type.

I have to agree with everyone who has stated that "AI SONG" SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why in the world they EVER thought that was a good last song pick is beyond me... and according to the blogs – everyone else too! Kara and AI – you should be ashamed – not to mention be extremely embarrassed by how obvious you stacked the deck!! Kuddos to both of them! It's a win-win situation either way!

Adam Lambert should win American Idol after a season of stellar performances, however, mainstream America will be voting and that is why Kris Allen will win. They will not let an ambiguously gay contestant win the show. With all of the controversy around gay marriage and gay rights in the last couple of years, we know that we are still not where we as a nation need to be on this topic. That is why Adam Lambert will not win. If he would win, it would change the face of American Idol and what it stands for and would, therefore lose viewership and ratings which for the creators is a loss of revenue. And, we all know, the world of television is all about shows that make money and put out the ratings. American Idol would cease to deliver on both parts if Adam Lambert won and the producers know this. My personal vote is that Adam Lambert IS the 2009 American Idol even if Kris Allen gets the votes, Lambert proved himself worthy and that is all that matters!!

Lambert has the best voice, top to bottom, in that I mean he can hit high notes Kris cant dream about, and he can hit the low note. He has much more charisma than Kris. Kris seems to be in pain with some of the songs he,s singing. His singing out of the side of his mouth also isn,t a great attribute. It will be a close vote but Adam Lambert should win and I feel will win tomorrow night.

Adam is the real deal here. He has tremendous talent both vocal-wise and artistic creativity. And Adam has always been very courteous to everyone on the show, so self-sufficient he is that it makes him to appear both humble and consummate, passionate at the same time, AND he never forgets to acknowledge the musicians/artists that played for him or supported him (which I always believe how a real artist should behave). He has it in his blood. Kris Allen doesn't even come close to Adam's feet. He simply lacks the artistic soul that Adam possesses. In the end, I could not help but had to wonder what do people really see when they watch or listen to somebody perform especially on stage..the artist or a so-called cute face. Regardless of the Idol result, Adam has nothing to lose for since he has been a star all along that will shine and last longer than many Kris Allens to comeby.

The American Idol is the whole package. I vote for KRIS! The black nail polish, constant screaming, and tongue-wrestling with another dude is not our idea of an American Idol.

Considering Adam is "trained" ... he SHOULD BE good. While he can clearly sing, I'm cheering for Kris!

I really enjoy the first few episodes of Idol every season... but as the contest progresses every season.. I usually wind up not caring who finishes and then wind up skipping the final few episodes because as it boils down to which person gets the most votes and not who's the better qualified, talented artist I just usually wind up watching something else.

As for this seasons finalists, if you can't guess how I feel now....I think Allison should be standing on that stage... I'll tune in next year, maybe.

Can we vote Kara off the show? That would be a better use my time and energy if I'm ever to watch the show again. Hopefully that, "original" of hers will seal her fate.

I know that Adam was the best singer and performer. He has been all along, but I feel Kris will get a lot of Gokey's voters tonight and Kris will probably win. I liked Kris very much, but Adam was by far the most talented of the two and he should, in all fairness, be the winner. Whatever the outcome is, Adam will be a s superstar in the near future. He is the one who will be remembered most this season. I hope he wins it because he deserves it.

Adam had me sold at the beginning of this competition. He was unique and had a fresh new style. Here's my problem...there are some songs that can't be screamed. His rendition of Tracks of My Tears and Mad World were great, because he didn't feel it necessary to wail through the whole song. I was SO mad when he sang One by U2 and basically yelled his way to the end. The fact is, it got old. He's a one trick pony to me at this point.
When you look at Kris, though, you see an artist who has come into the spotlight and stolen people's hearts. He may not have the "unique" abilities that Adam seems to like to overuse, but he can sure as hell sing! He has a voice that is recordable and sellable and because of that, he deserves to win this competition hands down!

Adam is by far the most entertaining and vocally talented of anyone that was on that stage this year. While I agree that neither of them did an amazing job tonight (and agree that the final song was god awful as it usually is), Adam has been my favorite since the very beginning when he sang Bohemian Rhapsody. It's 12:40 am on the East Coast and I'm still voting for Adam. Definitely don't want to take it for granted.

Bottom line is, even if Adam doesn't win he's still amazing and I'm as excited to have him release a CD as I was for Chris Daughtry!

Kris actually had an opportunity with Kara's song to make it more melodious and sweet. Had he done that, he would have stood a fighting chance. he didn't. You may not love Adam's edgy version of the winner's anthem, but it was head and shoulders above Kris' lukewarm rendition that didn't make anything of the melody and utterly lacked passion.

I've been voting for Adam since the lines opened. He is truly amazing. His vocal range is unreal and he has incredible stage presence. Adam's personality and attitude are also better than Crisis–oh wait, I mean, Kris. He is so humble and polite and grateful. Did Kris stop his limo and following cars to comfort a little girl who was crying because she wanted to meet him? No. Adam did. Not bashing Kris, but there's just nothing outstanding about him. And isn't it time for change in America? Adam is all about change and being different. Adam is THE American Idol!

I think Adam is the Anti-Christ. That would explain America's unfounded obsession with him.

I think Kris should win, although I do not think the song the AI creator picked for him was very good. He did good, put the song chosen for him was not. I would have to say the same about both of them for the song co-written by Kara. Just did not fit with either one. I sometimes like Adam, but to me it seems he is constantly screaming his songs and it honestly hurts my ears and I would not buy an album from him. Kris on the other hand seems all-american and sounds like he sings from the heart. I hope he wins.

I voted for ADAM LAMBERT!!He deserves to win. His vocal range is incredible, he never struggles- the notes are always perfect & effortless. He's hands down the best singer in the competition & that's what it's all about. He's been consistent from start to finish. Kris is a good singer, and he will do well- but he's not better than Adam. The one thing that irritates me about the Kris factor are all of the excuses that come along w/ him- "the song was wrong, the notes were too high, the judges favor Adam". If he were the better singer, he wouldn't need passes or excuses- that's lame, that's weak.

Adam Lambert all the way! Kris has a nice voice and I like him, but I don't think I'd ever go see him in concert because he would be a bit boring. Adam can entertain! I've downloaded about six of Adam's songs, one of Danny's, two of Allisons and one of Kris's. We're on the East Coast and have been dialing into Dial Idol on line for the last three and a half hours or so and have logged 418 votes for Adam and gotten 285 busy signals. Regardless if Adam wins or not, he has a fantastic career ahead of him and I can't wait to see him at the Idol Live Tour!

I'm voting for Kris. I don't really mind Adam all that much, although not a big fan of the screeching, screaming and the tongue. But what turns me off of Adam is actually the way the judges act towards him. They have been extremely biased, and so have the producers of the show (ie allowing Katie Perry's cape). I think they have done Adam more harm than good by pushing Adam's talent down the throat of the American public each week. I know I'm not the only one out there that feels this way.

Two Thumbs down for Kara's song. What a disappointing way to end the season. It sounded less-horrible to Kris's voice but still, I wouldn't want to hear either of them sing it again. I also thought the producer's-choice songs were unimpressive, underwhelming. I loved the first two songs of the show, though we had heard them already. So not a great finale for me. I will probably like Kris's album better than Adam's, but Adam got my final votes for being the over-all better performer through-out the show. I want to see him perform the American Anthem at the Superbowl.

Kris is completely vanilla. I find him so uninteresting. Sure he's cute and he has a great voice, but its just "ho hum". Adam belongs on Broadway. For me, it was Danny Gokey.

What the heck was that stupid last song???? I replayed it on my DVR and it was the worst thing ever, for both of them. Talk about ended the show with a thud instead of the usual bang....yuck.

Adam was far superior to Kris throughout the series....and also by a long shot tonight. The only reason Simon said that Kris took Round 1 is that he was trying to make a contest out of it. The reality is that although Kris is a good singer, there's nothing special about his voice. Adam is a star.

It would be an insult to the other contestants if Kris won American Idol. In my opinion, Allison and Danny were both better than Kris. It's not so bad for the two of them to lose to Adam....but for them to lose to Kris....come on!!!!!!!

After reading all the comments posted here, I again feel sad about how far we still need to mature as a giving, accepting, and forward looking society. Rationalizations like "what American Idol stands for...", "he's too Broadway, too theatrical," "a true musician plays instruments," and other such nonsense all betray narrow minds, fearful psyches, and sublimated bigotry. This guy Adam Lambert is the real deal, folks. He has sick, ridiculous vocal talent, the kind that would compel many of us to make a deal with the devil for even a tenth of what this kid showed weekly on this year's program. He's got the kind of talent that makes those of us who wish we did, weep with envy and joy.
I don't want a cute kid with the pop artist kind of voice, I want to move on! Give us someone who can wow the world! Why can't the AI voters send someone out there who the rest of the world will look at and say "yeah, they got that one right." I fear once again, we will fail to do so, because too many of us can't celebrate and embrace the talent regardless of the vessel in which it resides and lives.
Adam Lambert should be our American Idol, that we all know. Whether we're big enough to embrace that is another question altogether, and I hope this kid's future success shames you all.

This contest is about album sales. Adam is an amazing singer, actor and entertainer. He sings opera and has been involved in theater, since he was a boy. He's an amazing talent.

Kris on the other hand is a talented singer song writer. He can't challenge Adams vocal chops, but he's appeal is unmistakable.
He would fall in the same category as John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz or Ben Harper. This kind of music is hot right now and it will sell albums.

I see Adam selling out theaters, not concert venues. His 80's Hair Band" vocals, have no place in today's music scene.

Being 50 years old, it's been Adam's performances that have been exciting and leaving me in anticipation for his next performance. It's been a very long time since an artist has touched the masses. (Good or bad; that young man touched a nerve and for me it's been good!) To top it all off; no matter the mania that the fans of this season have acted (good/ and unfortunately VERY bad); the kids remained grounded and supportive of each other.

This is the final note for both of them! Kris can perform no doubt. But, I can hear him in Vegas, night club and maybe select songs for a CD. Now give me Adam all the way as an entertainer, artist and a star. He has his own style and that man can sing notes! I am 64 and looked forward to every week that Adam performed. Even old ladies know talent when they see it. To be an Idol you have to be all around and different to stand out. Kris did not do that for me. I believe his best is behind a piano on the first round. Kris was good but Adam was great!

Since Danny was sent home last week, I wasn't that excited..I figured it'd be no doubt Adam all the way. Kris just never had that "OOMPH!" factor that Adam always has. But I must say that after tonight, I really wouldn't say I could guarantee anything!

Personally, I'm on the fence.
I'm sort of leaning towards Adam just because I think that's who was always intended to win the show–but at the same time, I can't say I'd be shocked if Kris came up from behind and won it all anyway.
I do think Adam has more of a stage presense than Kris does..but I also think that Kris has really gained more confidence and is slowly showing a little somethin somethin!

We'll definitely be watching tomorrow to see who wins..but either way I'll be alright with it. Either of them could pull it off, IMO.

I agree with Bridgette. It looked like they were both worn out. It seemed all they could do to get through the last song. I thought the last song was horrible material to work with...strained the vocal chords and not pleasant for the listener or the singer. What a disappointment for a last performance. I liked all their other songs. It's going to be tight since I think their fans will vote for them regardless of performance tonight. Loyal to the end!

Adam is great. Yes, he is an imitation of Sam Harris, but the guy has soul and pipes and he's great. Even though he clearly has studied everything Sam Harris ever has done, he is making things his own. I think he's a big star and I hope he wins. Kris is pleasant, but doesn't create any real anything. He is sweet and genuine and would be great in a boy band. Adam is a star.

The only reason Kris has made it thru to the finals is because of googley eyed hormonal teenage girls drooling over his physical features. They must be so captivated by his looks that they drown out his sharp pubescence voice. It seems like American Idol is judged more on appearance than voice these days. Come on really? If they were voting for his voice he would not have made it this far. Adam has the voice and the unique quality about him that makes him stand out from all the rest unlike Kris who blends right into the background and will be forgotten many years down the road. They were both great! Adam is my favorite hands down and I hope he is the winner but I also think Kris is awesome. Honestly I hope to hear more from both Adam and Kris after the season is over. I also want to hear more from Allison, Danny and Scott.

It's simple math. Kris wins, hands down.
The problem is that Adam has to win over more than 50% of Gokie voters in order to close a million vote gap (or keep that gap). With 90+ million votes coming tonight, it'll never happen. The majority of Gokie votes are going to Kris, while both the guys will keep their existing fan-base.
Either way, nice finish for both of them. Can't wait to buy Adam's 'Meatloaf' and 'Guns and Roses' cover albums. Kris has actual recording-artist talent – I'd buy his Jamie Foxx collaboration, or whatever he comes up with.

I gotta say I really like them both. And it's stupid to compare because you can't....they're completely different. And not just apple and oranges different. More like roses and tigers, or peacocks and egg salad sandwiches.

Anyway, I voted for Adam numerous times. I didn't like him initially, I thought he was pretentious and only knew how to scream like Axel Rose. But I loved his version of Mad World, that was the highlight of the whole season for me. And I've come to like him as a human being, he seems to be a nice guy, who I bet would be really, really, really fun to hang out with. He is uber talented and destined for great things whether he wins the stupid show or not.

Adam is way over the top like a strawberry shake made with twice the sugar as normal. Way too sweet for the majority!! Too much drama.. too much broadway. They obviously both have talent. Kris had 1 million more votes than Adam last week and I dont see Danny's fans going for Adam. Kris will win by a mile.

Kris is a nice balladeer, but I'm sorry, Adam blew him out of the water tonight, as he has all season. There isn't any song Adam cannot take to another level. I think a fairer fight in this final would have been Adam and Allison.

Kris loved hiding behind his guitar and piano all season....he should've been gone long ago.....He's like Obama with his teleprompter...take it away, and he chokes! Adam Lambert is the true American Idol!

I voted for Adam. He was great all season and he was especially amazing tonight. I love kris but if kris wins tomorrow, American Idol is going to lose all credibility.

The criticism of Adam having been a professional is rather ridiculous, don't you think? How many Idol performers have already been professional? Example: Remember David Cook? He had a record contract, and lost it, and Idol was his way back. So, as they say in the South, "that dog don't hunt."

And where is the criticism of Kris throughout this competition? If Adam screeches (and if he does, then so did Robert Plant, and that's laughable), Kris goes flat in half of his performances. And that guy can't dance! Where were the judges critiquing his dancing like they did Danny, who at least attempted to. No, Kris hid behind a piano, a guitar (which I must say, he really does play well, and seemed more confident on stage when playing it), and a mic stand.

Adam was consistent this entire season. He can perform, but, more importantly, he can sing, with a far greater range, and the ability of raising and lowering his range without going flat, than any other competitor. And, he consistently gave credit to the band that played behind him, which few others did. (How's that for small town values? He thanked each judge, no matter what they said, with the same manners that my own parents raised me with.) I was a Danny fan...but Adam is this year's American Idol, whether he wins this vote or not.

Kris should win. The winner song is favorable to Adam. But we don't need a big mounth and gay man for American idol. We need a true musican who can sing, play instrument and compose. It s' Kris.

Dear Idol Gods,

Please help America embrace uniqueness, originality, and individuality by giving Adam 1 million more votes than Kris. Just one million, please, I don't want to make Kris feel bad. It should be close.

I know, there are a lot of, I mean TOO MANY, little prepubescent girls voting for Kris. He sure is cute, though. But, you've blessed me with the same trait, which for that I thank you very much, and I humbly sit here just praying that America allows 10-20% of the population to finally have a wonderful icon to look up to.

I would have to say Adam for sure. Unfortunatley can't vote here in Canada. Some of Adams songs I question wether I like them but over all he is unique. There is no Whow! factor to Chris, there is
plenty singers like him doing the same thing.

For the first time in my experience with AI, I am stumped. Adam and Kris are both on the top of their own games...so different, and really not comparable, like apples and oranges. I like them both very much, Kris has grown on me...and Adam won me over with Mad World. I have replayed that song a thousand times, but I also bought Heartless. If I had to really vote or die, then I'd go with Adam.

Kris was completely lost on the final song. He was pathetic the whole way through. He looked like a lost child when he was finished. The judges were too kind to say how bad he was at the final song. And he is so boring. He has nothing to say. As far as Adam shrieking at least he CAN sing the high notes and on pitch too unlike Kris who was flat often this evening. As far as Adam being theatrical. Guess, where he performed, that's right, in a THEATRE!!! Adam can put on a show. Kris can put you to sleep. Adam can entertain you, Kris cannot. I voted for Adam 4 times and have never voted for any Idol. Adam has never been boring and all of his performances were good. You cannot say that about Kris – his last song was the worst ever.

I really enjoyed reading the posts abroad as I did not get to see the performances live.

What I appreciate the most about these posts is most people recognize – these guys are BOTH talented. Very uniquely different and each to a specific taste.

I probably would choose Adam because I like more theatric intense music but on a chilled Sunday afternoon I would likely spin some Kris.

I agree that we can't count Kris out. Someone by the name of Chris Daughtry lost out to Katherine McPhee, was it, during the competition.... One is a five time platinum selling artist and the other is known more for short skirts and high heels.

Adam was better but the win will probably go to Kris. Adam may be more deserving and talented, but as we all know, talent and being deserving has nothing to do with who wins. It's all in how many votes their fanbases can cram in. Kris has the teen girl fanbase and that's huge.

My vote for Kris. He's clearly the better artist. Adam has the best theatrics for sure but that won't sell CD's. I predict Kris will be a steady artist on Billboard's top 100 for years to come. Adam will drift off with some put together 80's type rock band playing in college auditoriums. The judges make me sick how they swoon over him. Kris appeals across all age and gender barriers. Adam does not. Besides, Adam has had shots at stardom before and look where it got him...something must not work for him otherwise he'd be successful already. The proof is in the pudding. Kris is up and coming and Adam is already a has-been.

I cannot LOOK at Adam. He creeps me out. Yuck. I think Kris is more talented, but I have a sick feeling that the woo-hoo generation will vote in Adam. Ugh.

Oh yeah, and I agree with TJ earlier in the messages. The show was definitely biased toward Adam, so much that it probably hurt him in the long run. Have anyone else noticed that Randy would cut off the audience applause on Kris and then let the applause go on for Adam? It was so obvious. I bet if you put a timer on it, it woud be a difference of about 10-15 seconds. And it 's not that there was more applause for Adam than Kris, Randy would literally start talking during Kris' crowd response to stop it.

Adam deserves to be the next American Idol. He is so versatile and can sing so many different songs. You never know what to expect. Where Kris is monotone, sounds the same with every song he sings and is not exciting. With Kris you know what to expect. I had to switch the channel last night when Kris sang so I could stay awake long enough to finish watching the show. Adam blew Kris out of the water. I like Kris, but not enough to go buy an album. He's like watching paint dry. Kara's song was beyond AWFUL, for both singers, very difficult, but Adam did better out of the 2. And could anyone beat a Change is coming? GO ADAM!

What a competition! Dialidol.com has it too close to call. So, it's anybody's win. If Kris doesn't win I fear he will fade away. If he does win, Adam already has his future scripted. So, for me it's already over. It's a done deal.

Well both guys have great talent, unlike a couple years ago when we were down to Blake and Jordin. So I am thankful for that.

Looking at last night as any other night, I am disappointed in the judges. They just gave vague answers and said both were great at the end. Blah blah blah. I want Randy, Kara, Paula and Simon to say something critical. I suppose at this point they have nothing to take back with them and improve on next week so fair is fair.

Adam – was flat on a few notes in Mad World, but came back in Round 2 .

Kris – blew everyone away Round 1, did ok Round 2, but clearly out sang Adam in Round 3.

Based on last night? Kris with the slight edge. Admittedly I lean to Kris' style of music, so I would be pleased with Adam winning. Why you ask how that makes sense? The winner has strong contractual agreements and Adam needs that platform to sell his albums. Kris could do just fine selling an acoustic album on his own.

adam should just come out and admit he is gay, all the screaming is very annoying and really this guy diesnt sing well at all, can scream with the best of them, but very limited as to genres he could possibly scream for.

I don't know why people cannot notice, but Kris cannot reach those higher notes (he struggles very hard to get there). Adam absolutely has a range comparable to Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. That's what makes a superstar. Not to say Kris won't be seen perhaps at a show or two, but his voice just can't sustain him long-term and with multiple genre's of music.

Kris or maybe Adam. I think Adam will become a supernova rock star and I would go see him in concert – but only once – his music style is not what I like to listen to over and over and I can't see buying a CD by him. I think Kris will sell more music eventually- I would buy his CD's. He's "calming" and there's too much turmoil around right now. So – either deserves to win for their individuality – and whoever wins I won't be disappointed. But – I voted for Kris.

Funny thing this morning on Fox 5 New York visited a high school in NJ and a boy sang and played his guitar.....he would have blew Kris away. I loved Mad World but wish Adam sang something new. Maybe he was reaching out to "Twilight" fan teen girls? The last song they both sang was HORRIBLE!! Not their faults, it was the song. I am betting on Kris Allen to be the next American Idol. He not only sings with his heart, but he also plays the piano and guitar and he can sing.
If you ask me, he is one of the few who have really taken any risk and made each song he has performed his own.

Kris had a great 1st song but he didn't even come close to Adam in his first 2 songs. However, Kara needs to forget about song writing. That was horrible for both Idols. He is unbelievably talented and versatile and is going to be a superstar, no doubt!!!

From 9 to 11 I could vote without the busy signal, but from 11 on I got through once in every 15 attempts trying to vote for Adam. He is the real McCoy and will be an international star. Kris looked to me, like he just wanted it all to be over with so he could get back to normal. Both contestants looked beat and Kara's song was awful. I will buy it from I Tunes, but only Adam's version, and only because I have every song he's ever done, both the Video 2 minute versions and the studio 4 minute versions. Major differences in the two. If you want no shreek but Adam working a song the way he should taking time to develop it, listen to the studio veresions of Cryin, One, and Mad World.

i dont know what is up, but we (the family) have tried to vote all night and this morning. we all voted for chris. but none of our emails went thru. we tried numerious times. but they all came back. but we just tried 1 for adam and it went thru. well that means that chris is getting so many votes that it is kicking some out, or that his lines are out of order and makin adam the winner. just like the judges have done all year long. maybe idol does pick who it wants to win...hummmmm

I'm sorry...all these months later and I'm still scratching my head asking "What is so "brilliant" about Adam Lambert?" I ALMOST give him a second glance when he started "Change..." but then he started shrieking and I thought, "No way."

Adam is a great entertainer and belongs on stage most definitely...in some sort of musical, but not on my pop/rock radio station.

Kris Allen is humble, polite, well put together and the boy can sing and interpret like there is no tomorrow. Last night was proof that he can steal the show by being understated and calm rather than going for the obvious and cliched antics of belting and shrieking through every song.

Hands down Adam. Chris will be forgotten in a year. Still lacks self confidence and shrugs his shoulders and lowers his head when praised. Not star quality.

I tried to vote for Kris 4 times and got a PORN line!! FOX should postpone the Finale until it actually allows us to vote for the contestants...or is their way of getting the "chosen one" a win???

It's a no-brainer – Adam has by far the best talent and should be the winner. However, America tends to be conservative and likes the underdog so tonight could be an upset. I hope not – Adam deserves the win. He has lifted AI to new heights and engaged viewers all across the world. That's something Kris can only dream about. Kris is a nice guy and he can sing but so could Danny, Matt, and many of the other contestants. I wouldn't put my money on any of them becoming big stars except perhaps Allison who still has room to grow.
No matter what, watch Adam's career soar. He is one of the most talented singers to have ever graced the AI stage. Good luck, Adam!!

Australia loves Adam Lambert! C'mon America, vote for the man, he's an entertainer!

I see Adam in a similar mold as Michael Jackson. A bit shy and reclusive but amazingly talented. He has the potential, as Simon commented, on global appeal. I think all of the judges realized that the last song was out of Kris' range and – therefore – should not count againt him. There really is no loser at this point. Kris will have a contract, and I'll probably buy his record. Danny, too. No chance I'll buy an Adam record.

It took the full 4 hours but finally voted 20 times for Kris. I concede that Adam out performed Kris on 2 songs, but his screeching (like fingernails on a chaulk board) drove a nail in his performace for me. Will be rooting for Kris tonight.

Who will probably win: Kris, because he's the "boy next door," "dark horse," etc. .... "Idol" needed Adam to pull in the ratings all season, but now that it's the last show, they can finally get their big shocking finale with a win by Kris.

Who deserves to win: Adam, because he's unique, original, and wickedly (no pun intended) talented. He's got star quality and a tremendous vocal range. No, he's not perfect; he reaches a little too hard sometimes, but he's by far the more talented of the two finalists.

Of course I'd be thrilled to see Adam win, but I'm bracing myself for the John Mayer copycat to take home the prize. Regardless, I think Adam has more staying power and will have a more successful career.

This is the best season this year....I would say they both are pro-singer, but offcourse, there is only one winner and to mention would be either Adam or Kris. Both of them are my favorites but Adam most likely to claim the winner.

For the record, not everyone (including me) feels that Adam Lambert is the hands down next American Idol. I'm very impressed with his talent and know there is a place for him in the rock n' roll industry, but to me he is not an American Idol. When definnig the word idol, there were several definitions, but I'll choose "a perfect embodiment of a concept " and to me that would encompass artists like Neil Diamond, Gladys Knight, Billy Joel, Cher, Celine Dion, Barbara Striesand, Marvin Gaye, etc...people who when they entertain, reach all walks of life (young and old, black or white, male or female). I like Adam and think he has a tremendous rock voice with high range, especially when he's screaming and has his tongue out, but I couldn't listen to a whole album or sit through a concert of it. Kris Allen has demonstrated a knack for making songs his own regardless of the genre. You know Adam received so much praise for his rendition of "Ring of Fire" but it was a copy of Jeff Buckley's version. Now compare Kris Allen's version of "Ain't no sunshine when she's gone" and to Bill Wither's version and you'll see the true artistry of Kris Allen. To me he is more original than Adam, so we'll just have to see how America votes.

I don't think any of Adam's did that for me, but a couple Kris's did – SO – I will have to give my votes and kudos to KRIS!

Kris did very well on his first two songs, but Adam blew him out of the water on his last two songs! Adam has consistently been the most innovative performer throughout the contest. If America votes for true talent – it'll be Adam all the way. I voted last night but never received a confirmation that my text went through. That has me concerned that the votes are not going to be accurate. No matter who wins, they've both done a great job and Kris has come a long way in the final stretch. It might be doing Adam a favor not to be tied down to the Idol title! That guy is a winner that is not going to fade away like Kris. Congrats to both for a job well done. I still prefer Chris. Don't get me wrong Adam did great last night, but when you think of the songs chosen by Simon and Cara, both were geared to make Adam shine. Chris's second song was a boring song that you could never switch it up to be really good. And Cara even said she knew that the key was too low for Chris on her song.....if she knew it was going to be a problem why not give them a 2nd option for a song. God's honestly, I don't know why I even write in on this stuff, but after last night's finale, I have to say that I am completely disappointed in American Idol, Kara, and Simon.
first off, Kris Allen had this in the bag until the last song, then American Idol did not transcribe Kara pathetic song and octave lower for Kris's range... poor judgement, poor planning, and poor sprtsmanship on A.I.'s part.
Second, Kara, after listening to the song that you had a hand in writing, you should be fired and never asked back to judge... that song was awful and your obvious slanted judgement for Adam... please.
Third, Simon, how and why you put up with this on a show that you clearly dominate is beyond my comprehension.
If Kriss Allen loses this tonight, i will never watch A.I again... he was set up by kara and the musicakl staff on A.I.; he was set up too lose. What a disgrace!

Anyone who knows ANYTHING about music clearly sees that Kris Allen is the talent in this competition. Adam is a GIMMICK. The only reason anyone voted for him is because you only got to see him sing 1 minute clips of songs where he could screech out his one famous high note and make all the little girls tremble. Imagine how painful it would be to ACTUALLY hear him sing an entire album? His first performance last night was just laughable – I mean c'mon...seriously? In a few months, America will get tired of Adam Lambert just like they did with the other gimmicky idols (Taylor Hicks, anyone?) and then we'll see who can really sell more albums.

Adam is the American Idol!!! He is amazing and should win this, he deserves it!!! I would buy his music. Kris was terrible last night and is the most boring performer. BTW, that song they ended with - what a piece of trash. While it was fun watching the judges tiptoe around being critical of it - it was absolutely horrible. For future Idol competitions, let's forget this little idea - because the songs really REALLY do suck.

Kris seems really sweet but was mostly forgettable during the season but made a great run at the end. Adam was unique and showed a range of styles and the ability to change up the songs given to him except that last one which neither guys could get a handle on. For me Adam all the way. Kris, I hope you have a nice career but Adam seems more the winner even if he does not win the title tonight and Kris does.

Only reason producers want Adam in the finals is because of ratings. Adam has gimmick and the sensationalism aspect. But as was the case with prior Idols (Fantasia, Taylor Hicks, Ruben Studdard) ... they don't translate to record sales.

The final song chosen from the Kara D portfolio was awful. Poor song choice and stupid song. Kudos to Randy for pointing out the pitchy singing of mister theater himself, Adam. Sorry folks. Not a fan of Adam. While I did appreciate his toned down vocals last night, we all know that's not who he is. He likes to scream and screech his songs and changed it up to take-on Kris. Kris gets my vote. Kris doesn't rely on smoke and mirrors, makeup and theatrics. Kris brings his guitar, or plays the piano, changes the song arrangements to make them his own. He's talented, not a show boat.

I loved the first two performances by both Adam and Kris. I felt that both showed them for the artists they are. And then American Idol went and screwed it all up. First of all, I cannot believe that they had these two very different singers do the same song. Are you kidding me? The show harps all season long about how each of them need to find their niche and stay true to themselves and show America what kind of artist they are – and then they make them sing the same song??? (and at best it was a mediocre song at that) The song chosen gave Adam – the belter – the real advantage. Totally unfair to Kris and goes against everything the show supposedly "taught" him about finding his "artistry". Can you imagine anyone asking James Taylor to sing that song? Really, really unfair. I like them both, but I have for many weeks now thought Adam should win – and I still do. But they did a major disservice to Kris Allen last night. The guy is clearly talented – why couldn't they let him shine? He deserved it. Bad call, AI. I'm disappointed in you – I thought you all were smarter than that.

People say Danny's votes would go to Kris – and I agree. But remember, it's not a one person/one vote thing. Adam's fans flooded the lines – but according to Dial Idol, Kris has the lead by a hair.

So you have one group fighting to keep their guy in it, and another guy who maybe didn't have the same strong support but benefited from the people who liked Danny. I think this does give Kris the win – but not by a landslide at all.

In my opinion, Danny was the best of the three and that he did suffer from Paula's choice. I do believe a better song would have found him in the final. Terrence Trent D'Arby? Is he even still making records?

Anyway, I predict Kris wins. I think we'll learn that the overly vocal Adam fans were actually outnumbered all along.

Adam is iconic, Kris is forgettable.

This year is the first time I was even interested enough to vote on Idol. Adam Lambert was the reason why. Kris seems like a nice guy, but it will be a travesty if Adam does not win, and that will be it for me with Idol for good. It has become apparent over the last few weeks that there is another agenda out there with the message to not vote for the most talented, but "against" another. How sad. I will miss seeing Adam perform each week. And I will buy his music, I will not buy Kris's music. His critics should listen to the studio versions of Adam's Idol music. That is what this is suposed to be about. Finding a star. How sad for America if he does not win, and how ridiculous we will look to the rest of the world. I have come late to the competition, but it doesn't take a second to see that Kris has the staying power for a long career. Besides, I feel that Adam is a ringer...he's already a professional.

Both of these singers have done well this season. Adam has far and away more talent than any other perfomer on this show in many years. I bet Kris wins however because of the teen vote and their almighty cell phones. We have tickets to the Charlotte, NC show and will enjoy all ten of the finalists. I do hope Adam wins.

adam is a talented singer, charisma on stage, but kris is talent that is also versatile along with musical instruments, he has worked very hard in developing his singing and musical talents, I really think that he deserves to be the next american idol. I know that adam will be doing something with his talent within the next year.

I wouldn’t be upset either way simply because we all know they both have record deals waiting for them backstage. Also, it isn’t uncommon for the runner up to put out an album first and do better than the actual winner.

Having said that… I think the final song proved a point I’ve made all season… Adam does not scream… Danny screamed… Adam is a very high tenor and can hit notes that most men can’t with ease. His style may not be everyone’s taste, but his ‘screams’ are on pitch everytime. Very few people can do what he does. He sang that last song (as bad as the song was) as though it was a walk in the park. Kris could barely get through the song. He strained and struggled all the way through it. He was in tune, but he can’t handle songs like that. I wouldn’t be surprised if he couldn’t speak this morning. Even the judges said the key was too high. Why didn’t anyone think to bring it down a little? He must’ve known it was too high. It isn’t like last night was the first time he sang it.

Kris is cute and a sweet singer, but Adam is amazing. He can sing and put on a great show. People knock the theatrics, but those theatrics will put more butts in the seats than an acoustic guitar simply because it’s more entertaining to watch… and after all… the music industry is part of the greater entertainment industry.

To the person that compared Adam to Taylor Hicks… what? I was so confused by that.

I have to agree with MIKE who just posted a comment above. Sorry, but Adam is a freak and frankly, he scares me. Kris reminds me of Jason Mraz, a versatile, clever, talented individual who could be terribly entertaining. I'd buy Kris' album in a heartbeat but would never buy anything from Adam. If Adam wins, he dissolve into mediocrity just like Taylor Hicks.

I have to say I'm totally disappointed with the judges, especially with their performance last night. I think there's something really wrong with Paula – her comments to Adam practically deified him – this is a singing competition, Paula, not the Second Coming! Jeez – she made Adam sound like he'd solve all that's wrong with mankind today, including global warming! I was cringing during her comments.

I think the judges are out of step with the rest of the country and need to get with the program. I thought Randy Jackson was the only one that was remotely realistic last night. They clearly were disappointed that Kris beat out Gokey and I'm sure for last night they were told (in no uncertain terms) to compliment Kris on his accomplishments regardless of what happened.

Kris deserves to win and should win and I wish him the best. I frankly have little interest in what happens to Adam, win or lose.

I can't stand to hear Adam screaching, although, I do think he has a GREAT voice. He belongs on broadway somewhere where he can be "theatrical". I am not saying that Kris is better, I just think he is "normal".

Though Kris is a likeable guy, Adam is HANDS DOWN more talented. He has unbelievable range and stage presence, and let's face it, he is always memorable. Kris strains when he sings, has too many flat notes, and has left me remembering only a handful of songs. If Adam doesn't win I will fully believe that this is a popularity/political contest, and not one based on pure singing talent.

Remember last year when 'everyone' swore that David Archuleta would take the Idol crown? I mean he had thousands upon thousands of screaming girls around the world on his side. Too bad he LOST. Although Cook failed to put out a good album, he took the titile despite America's sworn thought that Archie would win. The same could (and should) apply this year. Kris Allen deserves to win by far. Adam needs to stop screaming for heaven's sake. But anyways, I might be mistaken but the week Jamie Foxx was the mentor or whatever he told Kris that if he doesn't win Idol that he would love to make an album with him. This is the first AI that I've watched from top to bottom. Before the news stories came out about Adam, I knew he had professional training and experience (definitely stage-experience, too). I really like Adam and there's no doubt he's incredibly talented; however, I believe this competition should be limited to 'amatuers-only' - no previous stage, broadway experience; no previous record contracts; no previous back up singing experience (i.e., Melissa Doolittle)....this should be a competition to give the "common, girl/boy next door" a break in this maddening, dog-eat-dog industry (go, Randy)! Wasn't that the original intent?? Get back to the basics and the amateurs...leave the professionals to their agents!!

That Adam Lambert could possibly be selected American Idol is a complete travesty of what this show means to our American Youth.

American Idol may as well have had a competition between a Dog and a Cat.

Lambert should NOT be in the running and should have been excluded from the Final Competition.
Why? Because Lambert is a PROFESSIONAL ENTERTAINER....
Lambert is NOT an ingenue or a young talent seeking a 'break' on American Idol.
Lambert has talent, but he is NOT an 'aspiring novice talent!'
The American Public is not fooled, but disgusted.

The Final Competition should have Excluded Lambert.
Kris and the 3rd contestant should have battled it out.

Surely, it has been disheartening and degrading for the other contestants to hear and watch Paula and Simon heap sickening praise and adulation upon Adam Lambert who is a Professional.
American Idol should have eliminated Lambert long ago for this certain reason.
A Professional should not be competing with a NON-Professional.
Lambert's existing career will be moved forward by his appearance on the show, but Lambert should not be chosen the next

I think Adam needs to take his guy-liner and stay in the theater where he clearly belongs. Why on earth did they make them sing that horrible song by Kara and Company? That didn't do justice to either of them, and the lyrics were over-the-top CHEESE.

This was an interesting finale. The two are so different that it is hard to compare. Kris is an excellent musician. Adam has a an amazing range in his voice. Both of them are likable. Adam was the most polite contestant of them all. He always thanked the band and the judges. I agree with many of the posts which said that the contestants should be allowed to pick all of their songs in the finale. The song by Kara was boring, but I think that they both did a good job with it.

Anyway, I voted for Kris, because I think that he represents idea of an unknown finding fame on the show. I would be happy if either one of them wins. Both of them can be stars.

I love the tone in Kris's voice- I hope he wins! I am really disappointed in the judges’ blatant favoritism this year- could Paula be any more clear who she likes? You would think she was having Adam's baby- it makes me sick!

Adam is a good entertainer and came to American Idol as a seasoned performer. Kris represents what American Idol is all about, he has really grown as an entertainer. I really don't think Adam (as good as he is) will appeal to the general audience as far as selling cds. Adam performs to appeal to the judges but it is obvious that his love is heavy metal or gothic rock or whatever you call it. Then again.....who knows. Really enjoyed them both last night, mostly Kris.. Hope Kris wins due to the fact it is expected that Adam will.

The show needs a little re-organization in judges, especially Simon. He's not supposed to favour anyone. His job is to judge and give his opinion. I'm so glad we can vote as many times as we can.

Horrific song written by Kara! Come on! When the the top 2 talents on AI can't make the song tolerable, there is a HUGE problem. I think if the producers have any sense at all they will scrap that song and let the winner do something else on the finale and as a first cut. They will only damage the singer by forcing them to sing and record that awful mess. I expected SO much more from the professional songwriters. I'm sure Kara is a great person, but a judge (and writer in this case!) she is not. The song choices at the finals should be the competitors' choices or be written by the contestants themselves.

Totally underwhelmed by the show thanks to the song choices by the producer and judge/writer. Not at all what I had hoped for. BYW, I think Randy was the only judge with any comprehensible comments last night.

Love both contestant's styles and could deal with either winning. The sad thing is that no matter what the results, comments, controversy, and conspiracy will explode about who won/didn't win and why.

Kara DioGuardi did a complete disservice to both performers. That was truly an awful song, which could not be interpreted with any kind of value by Adam, Chris and for the audience. Whoever allowed that to happen should be fired from the show.

Kara had no place doing this to these excellent candidates ...especially in the last show. What it did is diminish any possibility of either performer of excelling and trying to outperform the other by using their song choice. It cornered them into a dreadful situation where neither performer could showcase their merit and virtues for the type of artist each of them is.

Kara needs to be booted from the show as she has way too much esteem in her own skills as a songwriter and the producers need to be wrapped on the knuckles for allowing this to happen. What a sad way to end the last show of the season ...missing such a great opportunity to let these two fantastic performers dual it out with their own song choice ...as the final song. Now that would have created a really great match up to the very end.

Kara and the producers should be ashamed of letting Adam, Chris and the audience down in such a way ...no excuse for it except for someone's inflated ego.

Both have a great chance to win tonight although Adam does have the lead.

I think Kris Allen is deserving of becoming the next American Idol! As i listened to the judge's comments, it sounds as though he has been counted out. Kris is multi-talented. He can play the instruments and sing. This version of "Ain't No Sunshine" and "No Boundaries" rocked the house. Based on last night's performance, He is The American Idol to me. North Carolina loves Kris Allen.

It is a tough call.

I like Adam because, not only for his incredible singing ability, but also that he gives you a performance. Love him or hate him, you can't wait to see what Adam will do next, and more often that not it is very entertaining. He's like a cross between Freddy Mercury and David Bowie. I'm not comparing him to either of those two performers respective legacies, I'm just saying that he brings a similar style to the table as those guys. While I see the comparisons to Elvis, looks wise, that is where the similarities end. Their musical styles and impact on modern music are light years apart. Elvis will always be the King and Adam will always be Adam.

Kris is also a very talented guy. I enjoy his stripped down style and his approach in making a song his own. His performances are much more low key and intimate than Adam's. I thought that his performances of Heartless and She Works Hard For The Money were stunning.

I think they both will make some excellent music and sell a lot of records, regardless of whether they win or not.

In a live setting is where the difference comes into play. It's like comparing a Freddie Mercury type of live performance, full of great music and spectacle, to a James Taylor type of live performance, which offers great music in a intimate setting, but not much more. Adam clearly falls in the Mercury arena and Kris in the Taylor mold. The question becomes which you want spend your money on? Each person is different.

Personally, I would rather go to see someone that is both entertaining musically and visually, but that's just me. Therefore, I hope Adam takes it.

Kris Allen = Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Dave Matthews wanna be. His second song last night was totally beneath an Idol Finals. You can go to any coffee shop or bar in america and hear the exact same rendition of this song. There is nothing unique about Kris or his music. Although, he is a talented musician I will give him credit for his ability.

Adam Lambert = previously unequalled talent. Adam PROVED last night that he is a vocalist that can sing any genre or any song. That's what a vocalist does, people. This is a vocal competition.

Adam has taken his theatre background and incorporated it into the show unlike any other contestant in Idol's history. I have NEVER seen any other contestant apply so much creativity to 1) the arrangement of the song, 2) lighting and 3) the clothing ensemble. When you go to a concert, the showmanship of the artist is PART of the show! Elvis Presley ring a bell you freakin' idiots!

Biggotry has no place in music, people. Fair enough that you don't like Adam's eye-liner, but you cannot look past Adam's undeniable musical genious when compared to Kris Allen's coffee house talent.

Clearly Adam is a vocal powerhouse, BUT his is a talent that thrives in a live setting...don't see it translating to a listenable album. I was really impressed with his rendition of "A Change Is Gonna Come", primarily because he sang the majority of the song in his middle register and it was really lovely. BUT...*not the capitalization*...he killed it with the vocal acrobatics at the end, which again speaks volumes for the fact that in a concert setting he'd be fantastic...on the radio...I'm changing the station. Kris is obviously not as vocally gifted, but he's relevant to today's popular music...which is really all that matters...because the point of American Idol is to find an artist that America will connect with beyond the show...anything less (i.e. an Adam win) takes away from the show's credibility (think Taylor Hicks minus Adam's talent). Kris embodies everything that music is today...that kinda folksy, look at me with my guitar, laid back, rock/pop/r&b sound...and that's what makes him great. Having said all that, I really could care less who wins. They'll both be massively successful...Kris on the radio, Adam on the stage (I'm thinking Jesus Christ Superstar...lol). I pity them both for being subjected to Kara's "Climb every mountain, reach for the clouds" bs...clearly not a song that showcased either singer's strengths. But what that last song did do was remind me that NEITHER is an ideal idol. As the show ended with Cari Underwood's rendition of this season's theme song, I realized that the possibility of discovering a singer like her (someone who can sing absolutely ANYTHING and make it sound current and relevant) is what keeps me tuning in to AI...and will keep everyone tuned in for years to come. I do agree that the last song was horrible. It did not showcase any of the finalists and really let the audience down. I'm just tired of AI clones that come out every year. My problem is I could only get through maybe one vote out of every ten times I tried because I kept getting busy signals on all three numbers. So, even if more people tried to vote for Adam, not all the votes were received. AI needs to have more than 3 numbers each for the finale!!

Everyone just tune in tonight and in all fairness, they both win. Neither will have any problem getting signed by the biggest names in the business. I did like Adam in terms of range and control, notice I didn't say pitch.. it's not who can inhale the most and then scream out to the highest pitch that's not talent, it's screaming, and with a lot of music in the background it all sounds like someone's yelling something but ya just can't make out the words exactly.

I say, Good Luck to both singers and remember, talents not only found in once voice, but someone that's talented, it goes beyond that.

I have been an Adam fan from the beginning and have tried to like Kris' style (and by the way who names a boy Kris with a "K"), but I cannot stand to watch him perform because the facial expressions he portrays when he sings. I often close my eyes when he performs. It is not easy on the eyes at all. Having Kris sing the last song (while it was a horrible song) it showed the limitation of Kris' ability to sing. I want to hear and see someone who can sing with the range that Adam has and I especially want to be entertained which Adam does also. If you put the two performers in Vegas, who would be the one that could entertain. The only movement we get out of Kris is picking up a foot from the floor while singing. What is that suppose to do? Adam all the way!

The last song was such a waste of breath for oth singers. Simon Fuller should be shamed for letting one of that new judges songs she co-wrote even be in the show. I agree with Simon Cowell.....hurricanes and mountains and all that other crap in the song...YUCKO! Bad choice for a final song. Nothing but a cheap way for her to publicize her song writing which if that is all she's got she can keep it!

All of Adam's songs sound the same. Why can he stand there like a big lug without the judges sayinghe should move around more. But the others are told to dance, even when they can't i.e. Danny.

Adam has my vote, but any of the top 4 could have been the next idol.

I'm sorry but Kris just proved he should be the winner. Adam proves he should be on Broadway. That is not an insult, because not everyone can sing Broadway! There's nothing wrong with musical theatre. But overall, I find Kris's music to be more appealing in the long run to the general masses of American public. I know, I know, people will say its b/c Adam is gay or Kris is Christian or whatever. I personally don't care about it. Musically, I prefer to listen to Kris because I like the style he sings. LOTS of people I know do, too. Adam only appeals to certain segments of the population.

Overall, I think the "Idol song" (which SUCKS BTW and makes me really want to vote out Kara now) was not good for either singer and Kara admits it. They should've done like last year and picked a song from a viewer submission. But, Kris sang his songs better, more emotive.

And besides, when Kris sings, the audience is generally louder and more responsive. Maybe its the girls, maybe its the talent. i say its both.

Adam is talented, but limited. Kris is talented, but has the ability to be more versatile in his audience. He has "artistry", Adam has theater appeal.

I see absolutely nothing in Adam worth buying a cd of! I work too hard for my money to waste it on someone who shows no real artistry and screeches like an owl 90% of the time. Adam will probably win simply because the judges and media have built him up so much over the last several weeks but Kris is the true artist. I am a very big fan of the singer/songwriter genre and he would fit well. I can see myself shelling out my hard earned dough for an album from kris.

I say don't count him out completely though... he could pull it out because I don't believe anyone really saw him in the final two... not to mention with people like John Mayer, Jason Marz, Gavin Degraw and Matt Nathanson doing so well, the pop singer/songwriter genre is booming! So Kris may pull it out...

Adam has won American Idol since the show started. Win or lose, Adam will be filling stadiums non stop while Kris will be a bar act.

The American Idol producers were certainly trying to engineer a victory for Adam last night. Kris was amazing performing his own song selection, but struggled with producer Simon Fuller's song pick, which was clearly chosen to showcase Adam's vocals. The same thing goes for the song judge Cara wrote – clearly in a high range suited for Adam but too high for Kris. Shame on American Idol!

To be an "idol", just singing the song is not enough! You must be an all out, no holds barred performer that can capture an audience, Must be able to handle all types of music at a very high standard. For the entire season, Adam has stood head and shoulders over everyone else. Yeah Chris has a voice, but as far as Idols go, It's Adam, win or lose. He should win, simply because he has proved what he can do over and over again.

I am so glad to see that I wasn't the only one who felt that the "Cara" song sucked so bad it could end up blowing the competition for either of the finalists. I mean, come on! That piece of crap was so bad, I doubt anyone could make it sound like a HIT.

On to the topic, I think Adam is so far above Chris in talent, that it's no-contest. Having said that, knowing the girls of America, they'll probably have tied up the phone lines voting for Chris. Sad, but true, as someone said, remember Taylor Hicks, hmm, you never know. But in the end, does the winner really matter. The exposure will get Adam a gig anyway. I mean, he's already been approached by former 2nd place winner who blew away the Idol who beat him, Clay Aiken. The fact is, even if Adam loses, he'll win. The list of awesomely talented folks who've gone on to succeed dispite "losing" on Idol is probably bigger than the winners-list.

I'm looking forward to Danny Gokey and Alison Iraheta's CDs, I figure they"ll be better than both of the finalists', as far as being a wider-audience based song set. Best of luck to all of the final 10.

Kris! Kris! Kris! Adam's screaching does not appeal to me at all!

All season I've noticed comments about how Kris Allen's style wouldn't work in a big arena.

Well, that may be true, but most of the concerts I've gone to in my life have been in clubs and smaller theatres - not in huge stadiums. And Kris would do just fine in those smaller venues. Unless it's someone like U2 or its one of those big charity events with dozen of superstar talents all performing, who the heck sells out stadiums anyway? I don't see Adam Lambert selling out the L.A. Coliseum any more than I do Kris Allen. His style and voice may be big and sometimes OTT theatrical, but I still think he's better suited for clubs and small theatres rather than stadiums.

I think both guys are very talented and have really appreciated the fact they seem to have become real friends and have not go up in the whole "gay" vs. "Christian" crap that has sprung up around this year's competition. There styles are completely opposite, but I won't be at all surprised if they both go on to have very successful careers.

One last thing. That coronation song is a pile of hot steaming poo. Hopefully they won't make the winner release it as his first single.

Adam and Kriss are both extremely talented. Let the people decide who they want to be our "Idol." I resent that the Judges favored Adam so blatantly. It really turned me off. Especially the "new" female judge & Simon. Made me mad!!!

I would love for Kris to win just to see Adam get a good smack in the face so that he stops parading around like he's the best thing since sliced bread! But I don't think it's gonna happen, but even if Adam wins, I think the only way Adam is gonna be successful is to latch onto an already established rock/alternative band. There is not a lot of radio time or fan base for a SOLO metal rocker. Which with all his screaming (screeching) Adam is. Not to mention with his cocky, smug attitude not sure if any band would even want him!!!

ADAM is already an American Idol...the title is superfluous AND he will fill concert halls.

KRIS is much better musically and is going to sell a lot of CDs. He hasnt even begun to show his range which we have already seen is much better than past AI contestants. He is a DIAMOND in the rough!

I thought the Show was kind of Boring. I like both performers and thought Chris and Adam both did well with their song picks and I think they should be allowed to pick all three songs. It should have been choice 1 a song they have already performed. Song two a song they have not done on the show and song three should be from a list of songs that are from composers and have not been covered by anyone else. The forced single that they had to performed sounded bad by both and thats because it is a lousy song and if I was either one of them just knowing I was going to be forced to perform and release that song I would hope I cam in second.

Better singer – Adam probably wins even thought he tends to squeal. Have fun on Broadway.

Better artist – Kris is by far the better artist. His piano and guitar skills will carry him farther in the music business.

I thought Kris was the much better singer of the two. Adam tends to dramatize his performances and gives EVERY song (except Tracks of my Tears) too much vibrato...

Kris is a good singer but his whole package is a dime a dozen. Adam, on the other hand, is unique, fresh and with that amazing-flawless voice, will take him far. I got thru and voted for Adam.

I think they are both very talented, however, I think Adam is more well-suited for the stage. Broadway is definitely where he belongs. He will do well no matter if he should win or not. I've liked Kris' style and followed him along the way and considered him a "dark horse" in this competition long ago. He has grown and become what I would consider to be the next Michael Buble. I would like to see Kris win for that reason. He is the recording artist. Go Kris!!

As much as I would LOVE for Adam to win, my gut feeling is telling me that America will be voting for Kris Allen to win. He doesn't have the amazing range that Adam has, but there is something very John Mayer-ish/Jason Mraz-ish about Kris Allen... They're both talented in their own right. But here's to keeping my fingers crossed that America truly votes for the uniquely talented as opposed to the generic voice we here so often nowadays. Go Adam!!!

So here's my theory. Both sang the one new and 1 old songs last night. Tonight, they'll both sing again. Whichever one sings the new song will be the one who's the winner since that's the song they'll release first. Will it give us enough time to call Vegas and lay a bet? Hmmmm.

Adam Lambert has Natural born talent that is unique and refreshing to watch. A true American Idol.

Adam should definitely be the winner, but for some strange reason, I think there is room for shock. Kris was horrible last night, nothing new, nothing fabulous, and like Simon said, being your last wow chance to performance and outshine – it was boring. I really thought Adam would have performed a strong rock balland either from Queen, Journey or Aerosmith. As for Kara's tune, it was absolutely old time music from the 80's, sad, sorrowful and she should be voted off as a judge.

Kris is so forgetable. His range is limited, his voice is a dime-a-dozen. There are so many other artists like him out there. Nothing unique. During his performances, I usually can't wait for them to be over.

Adam is a one-of-a-kind. The range in his voice is incredible – even if you think he's screaming in the high falseto. He'll have a much bigger career than Kris. I can't wait to see him live.

Regardless of the results show tonight, Adam is my American Idol.

I will take the guy who can sing and play multiple instruments over the guy who can squeal in multiple octaves.

I'm really surpised Simon kissed Adams but all season like he did. One, I thought Simon was the judge that was honest. Two, because Simon should know better than anyone that Adam does not have a radio friendly voice.

This is the first season that I've ever watched American Idol, and I'm amazed at how quickly I was sucked in.

I was going for Kris ever since he sang "She works Hard for the Money." It really showed his artistic capabilities.

While I do think Adam has an excellent voice and is a great preformer, I'd rather listen to Kris's music...but I think no matter what, they will both be getting record deals.

This is the first year that I will be happy no matter who wins! They both did an awesome job last night, with the exception of Kara's song – I just did not like it by either of them.

Im sorry, but religion has NOTHING to do with talent. i will feel sorry for Kris if he does win because he will only live up to Taylor Hicks's fame. . . . . . .which was NOTHING. Go Adam!!!!! After watching Idol over the years, I have never felt the anticpation and excitement on a Tuesday night for any performer the way I did for Adam. His ability to sing soft and touching to loud and rockin' is nothing short of amazing! Kris, although a good guy, I'm sure, has always had weak vocals that almost got him sent home in the beginning. As his confidence has grown, he has really gotten better, but as that last song showed, his vocals will always be weak helped only by the magic of the studio.

Adam has been a strong performer from day1 and needs no such magic. Every star who stood in front of him as he sang was in awe of his abilities. He made Smokey R. cry for goodness sake! The haters that maybe do not prefer his music or his appearance, and therefore enjoy bashing him as an "untalented screecher" are delusional IMHO.

The great thing is now we can all enjoy the future music of the guy we liked best. They both deserve success; to wish them otherwise is downright mean, hateful, and reveals a whole lot about the person posting.

Adam is one of a kind, Kris is a dime a dozen. Adam is like Judy Garland, Freddy Mercury, Janis Joplin, Elvis all rolled into one amazing performer. They were all unique. Need I say more? I actually fell asleep last night waiting on the program to begin, but while sleeping I heard the most angelic voice I had ever heard, it was Kris. I have never awakened out of a sleep with a smile before. I love His voice. I'm not taking away from Adam he is a great singer and a even GREATER SCREAMER, but in terms of quality of tone Kris is the man.

Adam will win, he can do a variety of song, love, rock, etc. His voice can be soft or hard, great at both! Kris is good, but vote for the best.

Adam is entertaining, but I cringe when he hits those high notes. He's an overly dramatic glam-rocker from the 80's. That music is dead.

Having said that my next choice to replace Alison was Danny. Kris is just one more in the bunch, he is so plain and very much a "copy cat" of the spanish singer "Enrique Iglesias", how can you compare him to Adam? However, I do think that it's unfair that the final song chosen is one that naturally suited Adam's voice rather than Kris's. I am wondering if that was deliberate, because the judges have obviously been pulling for Adam over Kris. The best year ever for American Idol. I was a huge Danny fan, but I have to be honest and say that Kris is no comparison in the singing department to Adam. If Adam doesn't win tonight, there is something wrong. He way outsang Kris last night – Kris only had one good song.
The Idol song was horrendous and no one could sing that well. Surely there could have been a better last song for them to sing. No one will buy that!!
Kara has been a sad and disappointing addition to the judges panel – we need someone to tell it like it is like Simon does.

Well I'm not sure who Jesus wants to win, but I took the liberty of polling my favorite deities. Zeus, Hera and Poseidon all favor Adam but Apollo is a big Kris fan. So if you want the sun to come out tomorrow, keep your fingers crossed for Kris.

Adam hands down is this years American Idol. He sings far better than Kris. If the vote was just based on singing Adam would win in a landslide but this is a America and Kris will probably win. Some people in America still can't get over their prejudices. My husband, my 17 year old son, all of our neighbors and even my 60 year old parents think Adam is the best singer Idol has ever had on the show. Adam will be a success no matter what the outcome is tonight.

I think both Adam and Kris are great ... both will go far in the music business. Who cares what there sexuality is? I look at the person ... I want a good, clean, fun American Idol show. I want to be proud of the person chosen – because he is the best singer, showman, person that year. I did not read anything about Adam and I was very surprised by some of the talk I am hearing. Just because Adam is wearing black nail polish and eye makeup doesn't mean he is gay. And what if he is? I still think he is great and will be wonderful. Either choice is fine with me!

Don't get me wrong–Adam has talant–no doubt about it, HOWEVER, I have to say, Kris is a more well rounded talant. Adam can put on a show, but, can he write, play, etc? Who knows–he never showed that. I love Kris' humility. He is humble and seems to genuinely feel blessed to be where he has landed. For myself, I was and will continue to be a HUGE Danny fan and I will buy CD's should he release them, as will I for Kris. Something about Adam that just rubs me the wrong way and I am not sure exactly what? I wish them both the best, but, will wish a win for Kris.

For me, it's not all about the music. It's about character, likeability and who can best handle fame with integrity. In my opinion, that is clearly Kris Allen. I believe Adam's wild lifestyle (as reflected in distasteful photos that are easily found on the Internet) is not the image that the American Idol should be presenting. It's not about Adam being gay (I myself am gay) - it is about how he chooses to live as a gay man. If there were pictures on the Internet of Kris doing the same things with his wife as Adam is doing with young males, I would not want either one of them to win. This is one time I hope the fundamentalists come through and vote for Kris!!!

I am so tired of everyone reeming about how "Great" Adam is and for the judges and producers being biased towards him. Kris Allen is so musically talented and has been humble from the start. It may be that he would prefer at this point NOT have to be beholden to the American Idol ball and chain. I don't know how that works, but he may like being a free bird instead. Ummm…. are my husband and I the only ones out there who thought Adam sounded screechy and off key last night and Kris sounded beautiful, soulful and emotional? Even on that last song – we got goose bumps when Kris sang it and thought his voice sounded great and we thought Adam shouldn’t have ever tried to sing a ballad. We had been Adam fans until we heard him sing that last song and compared him to Kris who sounded so great! And Kris actually connected with us, thru TV, while Adam seemed like a theatrical, snobby celebrity… We wonder if anyone else felt/heard the same thing we did.

I love Kris Allen's voice. The last song was so terrible. I felt bad that both of them were forced to sing it. Original songs are tough to debut as you never know how the audience will react. It lack a lyrical hook who could remember.
I felt Adam started straining in his belter scream to try to bring excitement to this song when he thought the song didn't get the reaction he expected. That one level high pitch vocal can get very pearcing to the ear. It no surprise when you do it right after the first verse every song Kris was never in his key to begin with.
I wish Adam would sing like he did in the first song. He really has a beautiful Broadway Belters voice but for the radio or album choice I would love to hear Kris' album. Both men have benn given the chance of lifetime.

Kris connected with me on each song and I really loved the sound of his vocals. I voted for Kris even though I like Adam too. Kris sounded better, acted more down to earth, and really showed off his musical talent.

Adam actually disappointed me on this finale episode because he didn't knock it out da park, and really sounded bad on that last song. Another thing I don't care for about Adam is that he screams/screeches too much during each song. He should save his ability to do that rocker scream for 1 or 2 points in a song for impact... he does it so much it's actually irritating to me.

For me Kris really stepped it up and I actually iked the way he sang the last song – despite the fact that the song sucked. He really sounded beautiful expecially in comparison to Adams cries of agony.

Anyway – I know they'll both be successful artists... just WAY different genres of music.
