Top 5: One less in the pack now** SPOILER ALERT: Wednesday night’s blog will eventually reveal the contestant leaving the show. Do not visit the final entry of the blog if you do not want to know the results. ** So was the save wasted? Matt is over and out. I'm more shocked that the show ended on time than I am that Mr. Giraud is heading home. Were you surprised? Do you think Matt is destined for a big career? Did you really think Adam might go home? Do not visit this post if you do not want to know the results. ** Ryan tells us that after 47 million votes, the highest of the season, we have our contestant who is going home. ![]() It's Matt! WHEW! That was close. Now I can breathe again. I feel like I was just totally toyed with, but it was good TV. I'm going to miss Matt and his hats. Well, actually I'm really going to miss making fun of the hats, but still I think he is talented. My condolences Kalamazoo! Top 5: Blame it on Jamie FoxxOhhhhh, I blame T-Pain for this foolishness. ![]() Jamie sings his new song "Blame It" and he is doing that computerized voice thingie that I hate. T-Pain usually performs on the song with him and he's not there, but that stupid vocoder is. Jamie can sing, the beat is hot and he can perform and that's what I want to hear. Not a computerized voice! He's worked up a sweat and he really seems to be digging the show. He manages to sneak a promo for his new movie in along with some words of wisdom for Matt and Adam. (I still can't believe I have to type that!) Top 5: Turn down the lightsOMG! Kris is safe over Adam? Are you kidding me?! Adam and Matt are our bottom two. I love, love, love Kris, but I am beyond shocked. Are the producers just manufacturing drama because so many people have been saying Adam is a shoo-in? Lambert nation has got to be all a-Twitter right about now. Keep your fingers crossed, Lambs!!! Top 5: Remember Taylor Hicks?Hey, didn't this guy win "American Idol" a few years ago? ![]() I like him with the shorter hair and the guitar. He sings his new single "Seven Mile Breakdown." What is that, country, bluegrass or what? He's still rocking the harmonica and he looks good, nice and svelte. Out of all the "Idol" winners he's the one I remember least. Is the Soul Patrol still in effect? Top 5: Strut your stuff, Natalie ColeNatalie Cole has had some health challenges lately and I guess that's why she looks so thin. ![]() Her voice is also not very robust as she sings her new single "Something's Got To Give." It just seemed a little off. And I love her lots. Maybe it's the gold dress she is wearing, but I immediately started hearing the "Solid Gold" theme in my head. Didn't she host that show for a minute back in the day? Best wishes to you Ms. Cole. It may not have been your best tonight, but you are a class act! Top 5: Where am I?Adam is in the bottom three, but I cannot even fathom that he could go home. ![]() Oh Adam, you never, ever pick what group you should be in. You are supposed to plop your booty down on the stage and refuse to choose. Now look what you have gone and done. You've messed with the universe and ended up in the bottom three! Top 5: 'Idol' birthdays and resultsWho comes up with these ideas? Did we really need to watch the remaining contestants make a cake and have a food fight? I wonder who had to clean that up? We find out when Danny gets a late birthday gift - the $6,000 bill to clean up. Seriously, for some icing on the kitchen floor? On to the results. The whole gang is taken center stage. Matt is up first and is sent stage right. Danny, who doesn't want to say whose performances he has been studying (I bet it's Adam!) is sent stage left, where Allison soon joins him. Kris is sent to stand next to Matt, leaving Adam in the center. And of course Adam has to pick which group and he picks Allison and Danny and he picks wrong. WHAT?! Kris, Matt and Adam are in the bottom three?! Color me stunned! Top 5: For once I agree with Simon, sortaSimon thinks this is a wide open competition and I have to say I think he's right. I disagree that everyone sounded great last night. The gang sings "It Don't Mean a Thing" and "I've Got Rhythm" and Matt sounds in much better form than he did last night. The group performance is not as annoying to me tonight as it usually is, but there's a bit of a disconnect in seeing them perform classic songs in modern dress. And is Adam wearing a brooch? Top 5: Who is going home?** SPOILER ALERT: Wednesday night’s blog will eventually reveal the contestant leaving the show. Do not visit the final entry of the blog if you do not want to know the results. ** As we get closer to crowning the next "American Idol," it gets way more difficult for me to imagine who is going home. The show just started and I can feel the excitement in the audience air through the television. The spin camera made me dizzy and all the dramatic lighting made me almost think they were about to beam Ryan up, but it's all good. Here we go! |
