Top 11: Alexis Grace is going home

Alexis Grace gave it a shot but her rendition of "Jolene" did not convince the judges to use their one and only save of the season.

Alexis Grace

Now she won't get to "dirty it up" next week.

Do you think the judges made the right decision? Did the right person go home?

Top 11: Alexis Grace is the one!

Michael Sarver is safe and Alexis Grace was voted to go.

The judges might save her. Does she deserve it?

Top 11: Carrie Underwood, Randy Travis sing together

Carrie Underwood, what is in your hair?

Loved “I Told You So” but the oversized hair accessory was distracting me big time.
I won’t even start on the dress and the hairstyle. I’ll just say that it seemed more appropriate for a family picnic.

Love your voice, but the get-up, not so much.

Your thoughts?

Top 11: It's not good for Michael Sarver and Alexis Grace

And we are back to the live show with the results.

Scott MacIntyre is up and he’s in the top 10 and on the tour. I seriously thought he was going to dance a jig.

Megan Joy and her tattoos are also safe and headed on tour.

Matt Giraud is also safe, as is Kris Allen.

That leaves Alexis Grace and Adam Lambert, not exactly vying for the last slot for the bottom three.

It’s Alexis - and Adam lives on to screech another day.

Wee little Allison gets to go back to the couch. She's safe!

What's going to happen next?

Top 11: Brad Paisley performs 'Then'

Ok, why was I never informed as to how cute Brad Paisley is?

I loved the mixture of the man in black with the white cowboy hat.

I was actually swaying along with the audience as he sang “Then.”

I may have to start listening to country music sometime other than the one night a year it’s featured on “American Idol.”

Was anyone else digging him?

Top 11: Allison and Michael in the bottom three

You get a going-away party when you leave “American Idol”?

Who knew?

But on to the results.

Jesus took the wheel and Danny Gokey is safe!  Lil Rounds seemed genuinely surprised that she is safe - as is Anoop Dogg, as he's now being called.

Allison Iraheta and Michael Sarver  are in the bottom three.

If you thought Michael was going to lose it when he started  talking about his kid, we may not have seen anything yet!

Top 11: Seacrest teases, and 11 give T-R-O-U-B-L-E

So Ryan Seacrest informs us that there were over 31 million votes and he's already started with the teasing that tonight’s results will be a surprise.

Oh Ryan, what do you have up your perfectly tailored sleeve?

Meanwhile the gang sang "T-R-O-U-B-L-E." I felt like I was watching "Grease."

Come on with the results already!

Top 11: It's time for the results

Here we go.

Adam Lambert

The show just started and I’m anxious to see how Adam Lambert’s decidedly individualistic performance from last night played out with the voters.

His appearance last night was by far the most buzz-worthy judging from the multitudes of comments submitted to the blog.

You either loved the guy or you hated him, and there seemed to be no middle ground when it came to his version of the Johnny Cash classic “Ring of Fire.”

Barbara P. wrote “It was phenomenal. That voice, those notes, the control” while AJ wrote “I throw up in my mouth a little every time Adam sings. He’s basically just screaming through every song.”

What a spiky-haired little lightning rod he’s turned out to be.

Tonight is important because it will determine who takes to the road for the summer “American Idol” tour.

Right now it’s anyone’s game.

Let’s see what America thought.
